Big-Daddy Week 3 of the growth phase is now complete. The plant has been pruned at the bottom and intentionally stressed to see how it reacts to different influences. So far, no hermaphroditism is visible; the nitrogen in the all mix soil was a bit too much after I let it dry out several times and then repotted. Currently in a 9-liter Airpot. The final pot will be a 30-liter bucket. Another 4 weeks of the growth phase are planned. Strain description: This is my own cross of: "Sensi#119xGSCxBubba Kush" I've already worked with the first phenotype three times; this is now phenotype 2. For the first time, the cross is showing a red phenotype. That wasn't the case in the past. Right away, the second seed has a red stem. The crossing with Bubba Kush must have contributed to this. It contains Black Lebanon, which is known for its almost black leaves.

Big-Daddy The plant has wonderfully recovered from the intended stress, and the sex is now recognizable. Undoubtedly a girl. What’s easy to see is the reddening main stem, which is not red due to deficiency, but rather due to genetic lineage. A robust plant with healthy green leaves.

Big-Daddy Beginning of the 6th week of growth. Fertilized for the first time and thinned out further down. The head stays 👍🏻 Update 8.7. Defoliation Removed all upper fan leaves for light penetration. The plants are very robust and can handle this.

Big-Daddy She made it through the first week well. She now has a rich color. The difference to phenotype 1 is already visible. This specimen leans more towards the other mother of the cross. A touch more sativa content. Let's grow Update 30.7. The plant was pruned, and she is also showing her sex. Girls Just wanna have fun 👌🏻

Big-Daddy We are in the third week of flowering. By now, the second phenotype is very recognizable. Due to the stretching, the sativa content is higher here. So far, a good hybrid. Update 7.8. Filled with peat soil The plant has now taken the nutrients quite well. It seems to be very hungry. With the addition of the peat soil, I hope for more vitality. In another project, this bog peat soil is used to try to find a good base in the region so that breeding can be further supported. Ultimately, my goal remains to create a plant that anyone can grow; for that, it needs to grow as naturally as possible under Northern Germany's conditions. We want a good outdoor plant, with a lot of resistance and energy. Also, a short flowering time and fast growth. In this phenotype, the stretching is significantly better than in phenotype 1. We'll have to wait and see how long it flowers and how beautiful it will be.

Big-Daddy The girl is developing quite well. It's nice to see the opposite of being short-statured. The first phenotype was short-statured, and she has been stretching super well for the past three weeks. The genetics include Future #1 and Durban... It could be that the sativas have pushed through 😋 It's clear to say that since the beginning of the cross, only two phenotypes have shown up, whether two years ago or today. They also always look the same. The sativa phenotype is unstable, prone to diseases, and has an enormous hunger for nutrients. I can't keep up with it at all. What she consumes is more than any plant needs. The indica phenotype is more modest. It can handle diseases better, and root rot is not an issue, unlike the sativa hybrid. Update 14.8. The good lady seems to be recovering well overall. No attempt has shown any effect in getting her to hermaphrodite. Neither root rot from too much dryness nor too few nutrients. Neither excess water nor too many nutrients. This shows that the genetics are well-behaved, but it's a bit annoying since we want to have offspring. The first reddening of the leaves is already starting; whether it's due to stress remains to be seen. It will show in the next run. For the first grow of this phenotype, it's quite alright 👌🏼 Update 16.8. After giving the plant some love and taking good care of her, she is shining in more green. We have reached the end of the fourth week, and the stretching is peaking. Again, a sign of the sativa content. Indicas bloom faster because they stop stretching earlier. Update 17.8. The baby is doing splendidly. She has really soaked up well. The color is very good right now. The nutrient demand is enormous and not necessarily advantageous. Let's see if we can manage that throughout the breeding.

Big-Daddy Hard to believe what the baby has become. It's amazing what a little stress at the beginning can do 😜 a good phenotype with rich color. Apparently, it's a resinous affair and the aroma... very spicy. The branches are quite sturdy. Update 20.8. The good work is paying off. The baby wants to reproduce. Completely without STS. It took a lot of effort and hope that a bit of stress at the beginning could be helpful. Finally, there's the reward. I will definitely help her spread the pollen. I'm excited about the offspring. It took over a year and many plants. But those who pursue their goals will achieve them. Let's Grow Update 22.8. The fattening begins. A good mix is increasingly showing from both of the last crossed specimens. Apparently, the plant will also turn purple at the end and is ripening a bit earlier than I suspected. On average, the girls need about 45 days +/- and this lady probably around 50... Let's be surprised. The flowering reminds me a bit of the OG Kush... 25.8. By now, the color is visible, even in the photos. PPFD: approx. 960 RLF: 66% DLI: 42 mol/m²

Big-Daddy Here we are again. Big Daddy and his Chic. As I can tell, we have the same phenotype as last time, just in an elongated form. This is only now becoming apparent. Good that the two siblings are very similar and also smell quite alike. I actually like the elongated version a bit better, especially since it forms more mass. The first seed plant of the GSC #1 was sent into flowering a bit early to see how the phenotype development goes. In the next round, I will focus on a new seed plant from the same batch and then we'll see what comes out of that. So far, the Black Lebanon heritage is clearly showing. No matter which phenotype it is. I'd say goal achieved. New goal. Pinky Bomb x (NL #5 x Haze) Update 26.8. Increased light output to 1000ppfd 27 cm distance to the tip.

Big-Daddy Most of it is done, finished the sixth week. She's staying out and has only received water once. However, she hardly drinks anymore. Clearly indicates her end. In any case, we’ll have to wait and see what the trichomes say. They’re not quite there yet, and the pistils are only just starting to wilt rapidly now. The flower structure is, in any case, like the first plant from the batch. Very unusually beautiful. Not the typical Christmas tree look. The foxtailing will come from the Sativa influence. There are three Sativas in the lineage. (F1 Durban, Hawaiian Sativa, Thai Sativa.) Flowering day 42. Update 4.9. The plant has signaled for harvest. Thus, the part with the tops was done after 45 days of flowering. The rest stays, as it’s not ready yet. At first glance inside, you could see that she has completely brown pistils; only the outer ones remain white for a long time, but the trichomes say more than just the pistils.

Big-Daddy The lady took a whole 49 days. The first part was already ready after 43 days according to the trichomes. On the 45th day, the tops were removed. Today is harvest day. We will continue to work on the flowering. There’s more to come, because where there’s a will, there’s a way. Winter will be used for crossing, as well as for Sativa plants. My conclusion: it’s a good hash plant, packed with nice aromas. Sticky like super glue, but also fruity. Sure, you can let it go a bit longer. I might not have monitored it perfectly, but it was completely ready on day 49. Next time, I’ll try the nutrients up to day 40 and then let it crisp up slowly. Ultimately, there are few, but great strains in the cross. And, thanks to the Ruderalis, you don’t have to wait so long.
