I was pretty lazy in the first few weeks. I took poor notes and this is the only picture I could find. From what I remember. I was struggling with the ppms and cal mag issues but I think when I took this picture I had about figured it out. Nute ml is based on 3 gal buckets. 1 ml base per gallon and 2ml of cal mag per gal.

Everything seems to be moving along the biggest problem seems to be changing the water in the back two, I've been dropping a pump in the bucket but it won't pick up the last 2-3" of old water so I've been having to scoop the rest out by hand and that really sucks. I'll probably be purchasing a shop vac before the next res change. Nute schedule White widow 14ml A&B 20ml cal mag 3ml fl+ 20ml nectar 3ml silica Ppm 840 The ppm on 7/24/17 was 748 Chronic 18ml A&B 20ml cal mag 3ml Fl+ 20ml nectar 3ml silica Borderliner 20ml A&B 22 cal mag 3ml fl+ 2ml silica Ppm 903 Following day ppm on 7/24/17 was 881 I forgot to mention I'm using tap water that's around 150 ppm

Week 8 was a little ruff for the chronic, Defloiation of the lower section and the loss of one Main branches Will probably have repercussions but there's nothing I can do now except move forward. The borderliner and white widow seem to be doing fine adjusting the Scrog just waiting for a few of the smaller tops to come up. I had originally planned on switching to flower mid week but with the chronic losing its main branch and opinning up the front right corner of the Scrog is going to set us back a few days. I would really like a top in every square but we will see how this week goes, when I can get90%to 95% of the Scrog full I'll probably switch. I'm a little worried about the borderliner stretching into the light after I switch so the sooner the better. This week I continued to raise the ppm by 125 to 150 here is my schedule. *total ml is per 4 gallons and I'm using tap water at 155ppm White widow 18ml A&B 23ml cal mag 25ml nectar 3ml fl+ 3ml silica Ppm -1002 on 7/30 on 7/31 ppm was -924 Chronic 22ml A&B 25ml cal mag 25ml nectar 3ml fl+ 3ml silica Ppm on 7/30 after res change-- 1110 Ppm on 7/31 --926 Borderliner 25ml A&B 25ml cal mag 25ml nectar 3ml fl+ 3ml silica Ppm on 7/30 after res change --1160 Ppm on 7/31--992 If anyone has any tips or advice I'd love to hear it. Here we are in week 9 now and today is officially day 7 of flower, I switched to flower on 8/2/17 3 days after I did my last res change with my veg nutes, I've heard that they like that during their first week of stretch (If anyone has knowledge of this or any tips please share ). As far as everything else goes the girls have really been stretching, they seem pretty healthy I would say atleast 4-6" of growth in the past 7 days, because of that I went ahead and raised the light all the way up, That's about it for this weeks update if any one has any tips or advice I would love to hear it. I hope everyone has a great week My nutrient schedule on 8/8/17 was. Ml is per 4 gallons using tap water at 150ppm White widow 22 ml A&B 27 ml Cal Mag 4 ml FL+ 27 ml Nectar 3 ml silica Ppm 1040 8/9/17 ppm was 1000 Chronic 25 ml A&B 30 ml Cal Mag 28 ml nectar 4 ml FL+ 3 ml silica Ppm 1140 8/9/17 ppm was 1004 Borderliner 30 ml A&B 27 ml Cal Mag 4 ml FL+ 28 ml nectar 3 ml silica Ppm was 1230 8/9/17 ppm was 1170

Hello everyone, Thank you for stopping by and checking out my grow. Tonight (8/15) will be day 14 of flower but I'm going to go ahead and give my two week update today as I will be busy the next few days. Overall health seems to be good except for some minor cal mag deficiencies(slight purpling stems) , the chronic being the worst followed by the borderliner and the widow with very minor purpling. Other than that All of the girls seem to stretching and happy another 4-5" of growth this week. Day 14 will bring the defoliation of anything lower than 24" down from the top of the canopy I will also be removing the large fan leaves that may block tops, I will try to leave as many of top fan leaves as possible . Defoliation during flower seems to be a highly debated subject and if anyone has any input or advice I would love to hear it. From my understanding you don't want to strip anymore off the plant after day 14 in fear of stress or shock? Also I offset my defoliation and feed because from my understanding is that you don't want to strip 30-40% of the plant off and give it the same amount of nutrients ( heard the same thing could shock and possibly burn). Again this is all a combination of you tube, books and hear say . I've never been fortunate enough to speak with a knowledgeable grower about growing. I guess that's why I'm here lol. So if anyone has any tips I would I've to hear them. As far as my nutrient schedule goes I did not raise my ppm to much as I believe they are almost maxed out . The last feeding I did not see a substantial drop in ppm the following days and after this mornings reading I believe I'm close. Starting next week I will add big bud to the mix but my base should stay about the same. My nutrient schedule was White widow 29 A&B 30 Cal Mag 4 FL+ 34 Nectar 3 silica Ppm-1160 Ppm on 8/15 was -1150 Chronic 27 A&B 33 Cal Mag 30 Nectar 4 FL+ 3 Silica Ppm-1170 Ppm on 8/15 -1040 Borderliner 34 A&B 33 Cal Mag 4 FL+ 30 Nectar 3 silica Ppm-1280 Ppm on 8/15-1240 If anyone has anyone has any questions or comments the good and the bad I would love to hear them. Thanks again for checking out my grow. Until next week friends Stay safe and have a good one

Since my last update quite a bit has happened in my garden. On day 14 I defoliated the lower canopy and the big fan leaves blocking the tops. I ended up removing around 50%~60% of the plant, Witch was more than I wanted and I was a little worried right after I was finished, The girls looked pissed but at the end of their light cycle for that day They were back praying to the light. Fast forward to today and you can hardly tell I did anything. This is will probably be the last time I touch my plants with the ✂️ until the chop. Over all health of the plants seem to be good, the borderliner has some purpling around the stems on the top fan leaves so For that plant I've been refilling the 5 gallon with 6ml cal mag per gallon. Each strain drinks about a gallon and a half every two days. Usually I just add water but for the borderliner I've been adding the cal mag. Bud sites on all the strains seem to be getting bigger and should continue to stack on. Hopefully everything continues to run smoothly like it has been. Thanks everyone for checking out my grow.

Hello all. I hope everyone is doing well, currently I'm in week 5 of flower and I've had a lot going on. As I write this Irma is raining On my parade and I'm just hoping We don't lose power for too long I wasn't able to get a generator before the storm so I'm just hoping for the best.Does anyone know how long they can go without light?? The borderliner and the widow continue to stack on but I am having a issue with the chronic. I think it's cal mag deficiency but I would really appreciate impute from anyone. I apologize for this being short but it's starting to get bad. Ihope everyone has a good week and andhopefully I'll have a update next week.

Week 14 was by far the toughest week of the grow so far. Hurricane Irma put me out of power for 3 days and as anyone knows 24 hrs with no power in dwc usually means a lost crop. Seeing as the plants would drown with no air. To buy time I took a battery powered aerator and rotated it between the plants. This was a task in itself because I only had two working battery powered bubblers and I currently have 7 plants in dwc, the 3 in this diary and 4 more in veg. For this I rotated the bubblers every few hours between the plants so everyone got a turn. They just had to deal with no light. This process lasted roughly a day and a half and it sucked. Later in the evening I had a relative call and say they got power back pretty quick and I could borrow their generator After I got off the phone with them I dropped what I was doing and immediately drove to pick it up. Once I got the generator going the first thing I plugged in ( even before my fridge with my food) where the aerators, after that I plugged in the fridge, carbon filter, dehumidifier and the light in the flower tent and at this point I new I didn't have much power left. The generator wouldn't power the tents 8000btu window unit but it would power a small 5000btu window unit I have in the next room. Not wanting to sleep in 90 degree rooms at night I came up with the plan to just leave the tents open drag a air mattress in the room and crank the little window unit as low as it would go and we all seemed to be alright lol. That lasted a day and a half and then power was restored. Hurricane Irma defiantly set me back a few days but everything else seems to be good considering. Other than Irma my only issue seems to be the chronic. She's got a cal mag deficiency or something going on. I upped the cal mag per gal so we'll see. The borderliner and widow are really stacking on while the chronic just seems to be swelling if that makes sense. However the smell from the chronic is amazing it's very strong. I hope everyone else is doing well and I apologize for the delayed weekly update but I've had a lot going on. If anyone has any suggestions on what might be the issue with the chronic I'd love to hear it. Thanks and have a good one.

The chronic and borderliner notes on the pictures are switched and I'm not sure how to go back and edit the picture. Sorry about that, I'm still trying to learn and figure everything out. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

One question if the canopy is tied to the netting , how will you flush ? Or change water 💦
Kirby08
Kirby08commented7 years ago
@BigDaddyK, right now the plants are about 9" to 10"away from the bottom of the hood. Wayyy closer than I like I can already see the side effects. All the buckets are already tapped so I'd only have to raise them up unfortunately that's not a option this round. Next time I won't veg as long and maybe then I can have some options.
BigDaddyK
BigDaddyKcommented8 years ago
@Kirby08,you could add a tap to buckets and raise a little on concrete blocks or wood , then gravity would empty - just a thought 👍
Kirby08
Kirby08commented8 years ago
@BigDaddyK, i admit dwc in the Scrog isn't the easiest thing to do especially since I change the water every 7 days but after a lot trial and error and more spilled water and nutes than I care to admit I feel that I finally came up with a descent sytem. To remove the water in the bucket I use a shop vac with a screened tip. To add my new res water I pre mix the nutes in another 5 gallon bucket then pump the water into the bucket using a bilge pump. It isn't the easiest system but it works for now. On my next run I'll probably build a mini Scrog that is on the bucket itself or something so I can remove the plants if I need to and they are not locked in.

thanks for the info man. what do you think of the nutes your using?
BreakingBud

@Kirby08, ok I appreciate your honesty! I had a few oh problems in Dwc also. I found my plants always flowered later in Dec for some reason.
Kirby08
Kirby08commented8 years ago
@BreakingBud, honestly I'm probably not the best person to ask. I don't really have much experience with other nutes to compare from but I will say it's a pretty simple system. I wouldn't buy it for the perfect PH however. In my dwc system it tends to rise for the first two days and It usually takes adding PH down once each of those days before it will stabilize. The only problem I've ever had when when I first got it and I went off the manufacturer recommend strength. Other than that I just do roughly quarter strength of the recommendation then I add cal mag , silica ,nectar and great white to the mix and I haven't really had a problem since.
Wilmaponics
Wilmaponicscommentedweek 145 years ago
That's not cal deficiency. More likely mag. Cal is a inmobile nute, so will only effect the new growth where it needs it. Mag is mobile so the plant will take from the shade leaves from the middle of the plant and use to keep the new growth growing.Cal I'd expect to see the tips of the buds yellowing
Wilmaponics
Wilmaponicscommentedweek 145 years ago
I used advanced nutes for a couple of grow in my Wilma used as a DWC. Nothing but problems. The pH was uncontrollable, raised all the time. Sometimes I'd had shit load of pH down to correct the tank which will do nothink. Then 3/4 days later will would drop 2.0 over night. All there claims on pH perfect are rubbish.
