70x70 So here are all the pictures I couldn't track down.
Started as clones and took 2-3 weeks to really get back to growing properly and root completely.
Overall, the whole grow was problem-free, but the plants stayed a bit small and unremarkable.
You can't complain about the yield, but I have this feeling that it's weaker on average than previous harvests.
I suspect that due to the lack of space and poor light efficiency, the big main buds couldn't really develop, and everything turned into a uniform size and potency.
Normally, I could at least better distinguish what top, mid, and low grade is. This time, everything is more mid.
In conclusion: 4 11L pots are pointless in a 70x70cm grow area, even if it looks well distributed space-wise and should be more effective in terms of soil usage/rooting than larger pots.
The plants are getting in each other's way too much and just hinder each other.
I guess I actually need to test it again with 2 x 11L and 3 x 11L to be sure that it's not the pot size in my case, but I'm pretty sure I've found what I was looking for.
No matter what comes out of the 40L experiment, I'll stick with 2 pots of 20-25L. This way, the two have enough space to spread out, and the 25L pots have been the most comfortable for watering so far.
So it's a trade-off between watering behavior, space yield, light efficiency, and effort.
In the end, all this experimenting just showed that too little space is not good, and I prefer large pots for climate reasons.
11L is enough for better yields in other setups, especially with mineral nutrients, I've heard, but it's not worth all the effort for watering again^^
