heis0070 Obtained a cut of DS-11 from a friend. The pheno is supposed to be fantastic, and I received two cuts: one to grow out now and the other to mother. I let them grow in my incubator space under 250 PPFD of light for a week until root tips emerged from the bottom of the pot. I’ll only be writing about the plant I’m growing through flower in this diary. Transplanted plant to 3 gallon fabric pot containing pure Canna coco. I wanted to try a medium besides CoM, which I have used for all of my previous grows. Added 15 grams/gallon of soil of Grow Dots for nutrition, and watered with extra Cal Mag and Recharge. Moved her to the tent and will bump up the lights once she’s shown she isn’t upset from the transplant.

heis0070 Topped main meristem this week. She barely slowed down and kept growing at a rapid pace. I will drop a scrog net over her at some point during veg and don’t see any reason I won’t get it filled up before flipping to flower. I’ve been hand watering so far, but plan on turning on the blu mat waterer this week to automate things.

heis0070 Ignore the net in the pictures. The plant is still inches below needing it. I placed it to try to act as a support, knowing I’ll need it later this grow. The attempt didn’t work but the net isn’t doing any harm so I’ll keep it ready. I figure I’ll need it in earnest in the coming week or two as the plant gets bigger. As hinted at above, I snapped a branch while tying it down for LST. I wrapped the break in tape to try to save it but alas. I cut back the branch to the main to clean it up, and really didn’t lost much. Just a single small top and one side branch. It happens. Plus side, other than the break the LST is doing a good job of spreading the plant open and filling in more space while evening out the canopy and branch heights. I may try doing some super cropping on branches if they get too tall too fast as I need to veg her another couple weeks with the grow dots.

heis0070 I got the BluMat set up last week just in time for a four day vacation. Plant appeared to be happy and watered upon my return, and the BluMat seemed up to the job. I top watered with recharge once, and let the dripper handle watering the rest of the week. Lots of tops had to be bent under the net when I got home, but none of them were too woody yet so scrogging went off without any issues. Will flip to flower next week, and spend this week filling in the net.

heis0070 Noticed some small overwatering symptoms from having the BluMat turned up too high early this week and have been dialing back the rate of watering. She started looking happier the next day so I have continued to work on fine tuning the drip rate for optimal growing. Kept filling the net over the last week. Decided since the watering issue is underway to being resolved to flip the light cycle to flowering today as planned, making today day 1 of flower. Will keep the canopy at net level for the next week to week and a half before I let them grow up.
