Blazar This is a small cabinet DWC grow (roughly 0.5m2) with:
- 250w Spider Farmer LED board SF 2000
- 125mm (5in) ventilation fan with rhino carbon filter
- 50L insulated cooler
- Air pump with multiple airstones
- I bought a portable AC unit halfway through
- Running Lucas Formula
- 20 Hours light on and 4 off all through the grow.
This was a trial with some autos to test the set up.
It’s been many years since I grew and I never grew autos.
I thought this would be a quick grow, but ran into lots of issues. Like:
- I had to get a larger air pump multiple times settling on a 40L/min pump
- Faulty EC meter
- Temperature issues, which the portable AC solved.
- Light leak. I was only aware of this very late when the PH started dropping. It didn’t completely clear even when I blocked the light. It was kept at bay with peroxide.
At least I ironed them out for my next grow.
This grow was 10 Green-O-Matic from Greenhouse seeds and 1 West Coast OG X Gelato 41 Auto (freebie) also from Greenhouse seeds.
Week 1:
Only RO water used PH'd to 6.3 and some H2O2 to keep things sterile.
Day 1 – Seeds put between paper towels with heat mat underneath
Day 4 – Seedlings put in Root Riot cubes a little late. I had to cut the cubes in half and cable-tie back together.

Blazar Week 2:
No nutrients given.
Day 9 – Seedlings moved to main tub in net pots with clay pebbles
Blazar I found out my EC meter was malfunctioning and I was nuking the plants with high ppms.
I flushed them with plain RO water and started feeding light nutrients - aiming for about 600ppm.

Blazar I added a screen @ 8 inches high.
Buds starting to form.
Plant 5 showing loads of stretch.
Signs of Cal-Mag deficiency showing, I thought this was due to over feeding and didn’t do anything, it was only later I remebered I was using RO water (I've only ever used tap water previously). I bough some Cal-Mag for the next grow.

Blazar Day 66 – I chopped the top growth from plant 1 and 5 and dried in a plastic tub with a PC fan for ventilation, so I would have something to smoke during the final harvest. It was 8grams dry in total.
Problem with PH dropping. It turns out this was from a light leak, which caused algae which I only found out later. I used H2O2 to minimise the PH dropping.

Blazar Day 81: Start of flush with RO water only.
Plants starting to mature, lots of cloudy trichs (~50%) and some brown (~10%)
I would not grow Green-O-Matic again. It doesn’t seem to be a very stable strain, not very consistent. Some of this is down to the issues I had, but the strain is also very variable from what I have read online. For example one of the plants started flowering very late and the heights of all the plants were quite different.
I had 3 very different pheno’s:
1: Very stretchy, fruity smell, low yield.
2: Very stretchy and bushy, extremely leafy bud that’s hard to trim well, very strong creamy lemon smell, high yield, very late flowering.
3: Small, frosty and tastes of strawberry, low yield.

Blazar Final impression:
This grow was 5 Green-O-Matic from Greenhouse seeds and 1 West Coast OG X Gelato 41 Auto (freebie) also from Greenhouse seeds.
Chopped @ day 87 from seed.
With a final dry weight of 102.6 for the Green-O-Matics and 39g for the West Coast OG X Gelato 41 Auto.
I also got 5g of dry-sift hash and 64g of sugar leaves that I made 500g of Canna-Ghee out of.

Next grow is Purple Kush, stay tuned.
I grew 1 freebie seed of this strain. It turned out to be the highest yielding plant/densest & strongest buds. If I was to grow autos I would grow this again.
Nice dense buds.
A short high, yielding plant.
The final smell is of rotten fruit/coffee that is changing to a more berry/fruity smell after 2 weeks of curing.
Final spec:
Dry Weight = 39 grams
Height = 38cm
