Grow Questions

motaman311started grow question 5 years ago
I lowered my light wattage from 480 to around 300 for my 4x4. My tent isn't filled out with plants, so I am able to center my lights on each plant. What signs will I see if my light is insufficient after the stretch is over in mid-late flower? Thanks!

As you are having a very good Light Quality, i dont think that you will have insufficient Light. And in my opinion its the Better chice to have maybe not enough light, than to overheat them. In Late stage of flower i wuld give them a little wellness lowering the wattage and the heat. Because they tend to go hermie if they feel stressed. NOrmally you say 100Watt per m2 is enough for a grow... and you got 150, in my eyes enough to end that grow nicelywithout heat/ lightstress the Plant

Girls look nice, I think 150 watt for each plant are enough light for them

@Mrs_Larimar, Thanks. Eased my concerns a bunch. Now I am not checking my tent every couple hour to make sure they aren't dying or crying for more light šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

final product looks really nice.....I have one question that I am pondering right now....WHEN DO I START FLUSH....yeah everyone talks about when you harvest.....BUT IN COC LIKE HYDRO people say one week is good enough....SO HOW SHOULD MY PLANT LOOK WHEN I SAY OK THATS IT FLUSH TIME....as well people are talking about using 3 times their pot size to flush....so my 5 gallon pots that probably 4 gallons of substrate thats 12 gallons each....IM NOT AGAINST THAT AT ALL....but I jut thought I would ask you...HYDRO is for sure different you just change to plain water....BUT WHEN??? im thinking a 7-10 flush....at least two heavy plain watering'sā€¦.checking PPM to make sure it has almost zeroed out...BUT WHEN should I say ok plain water from here on out???? I am getting some orange hairs now....maybe 5-15% depending on plants and bud location...LOWER BUDS SHOW MORE ORANGE....which could actually be a good thing??? any advice on when to accept I have done all I can do, hopefully they finish right on their own????

@@motaman311, thats one of the things about Cyco I really like...the way their product breaks down instead of creating more salts the method they use makes most of it break down into usable amino acids....OR SO THIS GUY WHO DIDDNT WORK FOR CYCO SAID....something about how they bind to nitrates...AS WELL my fast dry premature no cure grass was not very good at all...but the couple things I took a week later after switching to Cyco and it was much better...flavor and smell....everything is sticky now....#7 IS SWELLING FOR SURE....#3, & #5 are the other two....I was thinking two more feedings for all three of them...then flush...maybe 3 gallons and check PPM's then go 2 more gallons if needed...do that twice 2-3 days apart, then harvest after a 24-36 hour darkness...I will see the first flush I will go for most of the nut's....SO DAY 90-91 go to flush, then day 97-99 HARVEST....thats past the SPECIFIED TIME by a good shot....I think 9-10 days should be good in Coco.....as long as I get most of the leftovers out the first flush....100 days is on the long end for these plants....the others will be two maybe three weeks to flush....but my production is looking really good...people all say 3 gallon pot 3 gallon puts on Autos....BULLSHIT...they love these 5 gallon pots...probably one of the reasons they stayed in veg as long as they did along with the 24hr light...I think they are only autos at 18-6 or less light....I GOT ME SOME BIG'EMS...just have to get them through the finish line dry and cure....THE REALLY IMPORTANT PART if ive gotten anything worth a poop at this point....they look TO WHITE TO LOOK AT WITH A DAY LIGHT, LIGHT ON THEM......

@@Wilson_McNugget, Thanks, she was a nice smoke. from what I had anyways. In hydro I like to give 3/4 solid days of flush. I let 1 plant go 6 days and I was surprised at how little it affected the plant. I like to start my flush 2 weeks out, but that's just by reducing the feed to 1-3ml/gal of bloom and some cal-mag and that's it. If she is still feeding heavy I will keep the nutrients a little longer, but if the plant is healthy it can easily go 5-7 days of only water on hydro and still look good. People will say flushing does't get rid of nutrients etc,but the 1 plant I didn't fully flush is harsh and burns black as shit while the plants I did a longer/better flush on burn gray and smooth.. so I am a firm believer in flushing. They use so little nutrients the last 2 weeks or so, so you actually aren't going to hurt a healthy plant by starting a flush that far out in coco. Call me overly cautious, but I wouldn't start to flush until I am 1 week from the breeders timeline, cause I always seem to go a bit longer. Once you see the calyx's start to swell, that's when they start looking bomb and have another 7-10+ days to mature. There is a balance you have to find between not starving your plant in the final stages, yet making it a nice smooth smoke and I bet they type and how many nutrients you use over the course of a grow determines flush length too.. but that's just me speculating haha

Hi, you had air circulation in your dry room? (little PC-fan would do)
motaman311
motaman311
@@Spaceman, I normally do, but i used a different dry space because I had another plant harvested a couple days earlier. I had a box fan underneath the plants blowing towards them, but it was too low I suppose. I even went in there a couple times and moved the buds around a bit to check for wet spots. My theory is either she got infected right before the dry or from the removal of fan leaves when i hung it or the couple i pulled late flower.. Which was a mistake..

Those are some beautiful looking girls you have there! Have you grown in a soil medium before? If so would you say there's a noticeable difference in growth?
motaman311
motaman311
@Purkle, Thank you and no I haven't grown in soil. I would eventually like to try soil, but if I did I would go the organic route.. feed the soil not the plant. From my research, it seems that growing in hydro provides more/faster growth. I believe it has to due with the oxygen to the roots. **Note: this isn't fact and just what I've read on the internet and found from comparing my grows to some others. Thanks for the comment and happy growing! šŸ‘Š
