Gonna try my luck with 2 auto flowering varieties. Blackberry Auto from FastBuds, and Blue Cheese Auto from White Label. I bought the BC from a seed bank called SeedFair they have a good variety and the prices aren't bad at all. I was looking for some lower THC and higher CBD strains, and they have a good selection. They keep the level of THC right out front so I don't have to search each listing.
The BCA has up to 17% THC and the BBA has 20 something...
I thought I'd start these two in my tent while I'm finishing up the veg cycle on another grow. I'll have to slowly introduce them to the outdoors over a week or so and then put them out, but I want them to be good and strong. I was going to just throw em out there, but I paid for these genetics, and I don't have a lot. So I'm going to baby them all the way through.
For the sake of consistency and to take the easiest route, I'm going to go with organic living soil. "Just add water" like the Permanent Marker grow. I was going to bottle feed them with the fox farm trio, but I'll save that for the next tent grow. I have never grown that way and Im stoked to do it, but i want it to be in more controlled environment. Besides this will give me a good venue which to test my outdoor soil mix. It has some pest control amendments adding in and then there is the diatomaceous earth... That stuff is great as long as it's dry.
Set seeds in water for 15 hours then put in peat pods and little pots topped with Pro-Mix EWC and perlite. Covered in a homemade humidity dome and now we waiting...
8/6
The BC popped through nice and proud... BB is hot on her heels about to break through! They are still in the dome and I'm hoping the temp is sufficient. Sure the humidity is. But I'm a bit worried itay get hot. I'll work on this tonight.
8/7
They made it!! Tiny, long and spindly.. but they came through. I am struggling with the accommodations for these new additions, so I left the tent open today while I'm at work. They are camping out on the tent floor and I hope it's not too bright. Covered in the dome about 78° with 70% humidity but that will wane a bit.... I'll fix the individual domes after work.
These girls will be going outside at some point. I will be flipping the tent they co-occupy in about 1 to 2 weeks. I need the primary occupant ( a separate girl for a separate grow) to bush out a tad more.
8/8
I mixed up the outdoor mix I'm going to run these two in. Basically 2 gal Coco coir, 2 gallons Pro-Mix, 1 gal perlite, 1/ gal EWC, and about 3 gal of my previous soil mix that's been sitting for about 10, 11 weeks. I dropped them each into their own party cup with drainage on the bottom and air holes on the side. Completed with the next smaller size clear cup as a humidity dome. I added a few staggered breathing holes sprinkled some preventative Diatomaceous earth on the saucer. I'll let them spread out in there a bit. Grow 2 to 3 nodes and transplant to their final homes.
We are going with a 3gal fabric pot. I dont want these getting over 2, 3 feet tall. I still live in a state that doesn't play ball yet. But either way you still need to worry about fucking thieves.

First seven days since dropped in the water. Looking damn good!!!
8/11
The BC is a tad bit pale. The BB looks about right, but it's just too early to be not picky. They are both growing fast, and looking good.
8/12
They are really doing well. I've been opening the domes for a little while and letting them get used to the lower humidity. The lighter colored BC sure did darken up! She must have hit the soil that has a the nutrients in it. Gonna let them get about 3 nodes and then remove the dome.
These girls are gonna be going outside so I'm keeping the temps around 80 atm. They really seem to like it. As I said early I let the dome off for an hour or so and they didn't really perk up the whole time. Ambient temps were about 76. Then I replaced the dome and zipped them up for the night and upon waking 8 or so hours later ( This would be late afternoon for them) they were both praying in their domes and they had nearly doubled in size. They love the higher temps and I know they love humidity. It's about 78-81° and RH of 75%. I'm not entirely sure when I'm putting them out. But they will have several nodes and be a lot stronger.
8/13
I had to remove the domes. The conditions were getting cramped, and I think they are ok to come out. They have been thriving so I hope that behavior will continue. If not, I'll have to figure out a dome situation
The biggest issue... Fear of the moment is sunlight. Currently we are undergoing some kind of a fucking monsoon period. It's been raining daily for almost 3 weeks now. Complete days of no sun, and the forecast looks the same through August. My yard is already going to be a challenge getting 6 hours of direct sunlight as is but I'm afraid with the current situation we won't get much yield. So worst case scenario I will have to move my Permanent Marker female into a smaller tent and keep her in veg while I flower these 2. I'll have to set up my cloning/mother tent (2x3x3) to hold her and that's gonna be a pain in the ass. I can barely accommodate my tall box in the lung room much less 2 of them. But I'll have to figure it out because I am not one that likes to throw away good genetics. Some people don't bat an eye,but these 2 girls already cost nearly . I'm not cheap or broke, I just don't want to give up the bud man .. it's that simple.
8/16
They are growing pretty damn well. The BC has a tiny bit of curl up on the first set. I had them both sitting at a higher point so I'm thinking it was light stress. It's gotten better since I moved em down. I may keep them both in this tent and flip to 12/12.
I can just maximize the light for the PM and let the autos get what they can. My light is rated for a 2x4, but .... It's not a 2x4 light. It really is a tad too small which is why I got it for the 2x3. I thought about buying a 2x4 tent, leaving the cycle on 18/6 and flowering the autos but leave the Permanent Marker plant in veg. Then flower her after. Shell really put out some bud then..
I think I am going to finish these indoors either way.

Doing well I had some light stress issues so I just moved the lamps up. Watered them 8/16 with 1l2 cup dechlorinated pH adjusted water that had some mychorize and molasses in it.
They look like they couldn't be happier.
Still waiting to decide on the permanent accommodations for these 2, but it's looking like indoors. I'll update the grow parameters as I figure it out.
8/19
Thriving.... They are both just doing really well. Plan on transplanting them into a light soil mix about week 3ish..
It's looking like they are going to live indoors. Need to amend the diary.
8/21
Growing like mad. I'm going to be force to trans plant in the next day or 2. Thought I'd have a week bit nah ... I have just mixed a batch for these 2 that I hope will be just right. It's not as nutrient dense as it could be. Autos is new territory for me and if the soil is too light... I'll deal with that as it occurs. I have the fox farm trio on hand if I need to slip in a boost.
8/22
It's like I remember it. Night and day between these 2 autos and the permanent marker strain I started 10 weeks ago. That little girl grew soooooo slow. I believe it was the soil recipe. In my defense it's been over a decade since I grown cannabis and obviously I fucked up the soil, and/or this particular plant was just slow in general.
That does happen.
Regardless...
These have to be gingerly transplanted into a new mix. I painstakingly reworked the soil recipe and made sure none of the ingredients clash or lock each other out due to competition. The mix they are in now seems to be on the $$. Their color is almost perfect. The permMarker was a bit too dark. A touch of N toxicity I'm sure. These 2 are really out growing these cups. Just watered 2 days ago and they'll need more tonight or in the am.

Three week mark!!! So much to report.
The BCA started displaying a desperate droop the day before transplant which was 8/23. I thought for sure it was need of water so I watered her/them and 2 hours later little change. Put them up for the night, and the next day she'd perked up a good bit. Then transplanted both.
8/23
The transplant went really well. I used the new soil and wet it down with a Superthrive enhanced dechlorinated tap water.
8/25
Moved all girls into a 2.3x4.6x80... a plus sized 2x4. Massive compared to my 2x1.7 and so far..... So far, surprisingly easier to cool. That may change. I have t even seen a dark period yet.
Problems with the new soil.
It seems my N source takes longer than a couple, 2, 3 days to release....yeh, I knew this as soon as I saw the defeciency.... I knew I'd fucked up. 2 weeks is the least amount of time I'd wait on new soil but I had to go with it.
Hopefully it will not kick in too hard .. I was frugal with the N in the forst place because autos were going in at week 3.
Solution:
Fish emulsion foilar spray. 1.5ml per 22oz sprayed right after sunrise was initiated. We'll see if this and maybe another application will get it through the stretch.
The BBA isnt displaying the same need for N.
8/27
Fuck..... They both have already started to flower. Looks like it's been happening a few days. So they will not be getting any larger ... Damn it...
Oh well. Next time I'm going to keep them in the same container. Make sure there are no hiccups in the soil department and maybe I'll get them to grow bigger.
My entire grow system went fucking haywire during the night. Somehow multiple settings like the VPD for the humidifier, and another trigger on the exhaust fan was out of whack. VPD was set to .06 and the fan was on 8. Dehumidifier was working and the damn humidifier was pumping out mist. Idek WTF that was but I woke up and started freaking out. If they weren't stunted then.... Damn if they ain't now!!!
But why so early???? Why did they start flowering before week 3? Today is 3 weeks and 2 days so yeh.. in my ignorance I didnt realize what it meant, thinking theyd still double but they have definitely stopped growing.
Well... Hopefully the weed is good and I still have more of both of these to try again later!
8/28
Well... As per the research I've been doing this could have been caused by so many things I did wrong. This is all new territory to me and I guess I was just a bit too over zealous with these beauties. Swinging temps while settling them into a new place, late transplant. Transplant into soil that's not quite ready. I should have gone with natures living soil and been done with it with all the other shit I was trying to do at the same time. But... Live and learn. The focus now is to make sure they produce decent bud.

Week four!!
Well, well, well... They managed to put on a few more inches. The little BBA is a bit behind but what a beautiful plant man. No sign of any (major, slight P, more below) defeciencies that I can tell, so far the BCA is lanky but a bit ahead, and about 6 inches taller! This is the first time I have not topped, LST'd, or trained the plants in anyway. I did however have to remove the 2 largest fan leaves on BCA the little side shoots that finally manifested were in the shade.
I gave a very light feeding of foxFarm Tiger Bloom (3ml/gal) to both on 8/30. I was seeing the very early start of a P defeciency and I think she must have out run the N issues. Looks good now.
Fastbuds Blackberry Auto seems to be a light feeder. I gave her the same dose as the BCA, but a tad less.
I'm going to add some better pics of the BBA soon. She is a real beauty .
9/4
Hehehe... Looks like they didn't get stunted!!!! At least the BCA. The NBA was a bit behind but she's almost there. I have only removed 4 fans from the BCA and 2 from the BBA and that was just because they were really blocking the light. It's bad enough I did absolutely no training and only about half of each plant will get enough light... But, hey, my first run I wanted to see how they'd do on their own. Shit, at this size (BCA) I could literally fit 10 in this tent. Well, ateast 8. I plan to feed them tonight. I'm not seeing any defs, and no burn from last time so I'll go up a few ml... I'm not seeing the pH nightmare I am on my Permenant marker female. So I'm starting to get ideas to test as to why it went south so fast... Sorry for the cross diary talk.
9/4 later that night:
I did go ahead with a light feeding. I opted for Big Bloom because I need absolutely NO N. They almost look like they have too much N and it's probably from the worm castings because this soil is just too new. I had to transplant them into it because it was the only thing I had handy. I should be able to feed over the organics, it'll be a month or longer before they are even broke down.
10ml/gallon big bloom. The EC was 0.3 going in and I gave them each 1600 ml. Yeh, a bit heavy. I was trying to get runoff to test but the soil just soaked it all up. I didn't even get 10 ml of run off . Too much effing vermiculite that I would not have used but it was available and I used it. They look good. So I'll watch em and see if the tips curl but I'm hoping not.
9/6
Still looking good. I think they both put on another inch or two.... WTF? Talk about stretching though, that Blue cheese is lanky as fuck, and about as beautiful as you could hope for. The Blackberry I believe is stunted. I can't recall ATM but I believe she was about 14" to the BCAs 22 but she has some really nice side bud action and I believe she is going to fill out nice.
I'm treading lightly with these girls because I have no experience with autos but I know that if anything goes off... Ph at the root zone being what I'm really worried about, and they probably won't recover enough to make nice flowers.

9/8
What a week last week was. Again, auto flowers are new territory for me and I really want to get the best I can out of these 2 girls and to my surprise and delight they are not stunted. Not even a little bit. BCA is 24" and the BBA is about 16", and they are still putting on an inch or 2 a day. No training just letting them do what they do so I can get an idea how they will fill out. I had thought I could get 10 of the BCA in this tent but nah, 6, 8 will do better. But I have a feeding coming up and I'm still trying to decide what I'm feeding next. I really need to get some run off but it is difficult with this mix. I have to give a lot more water than I'd like to. I fucked up and used way too much vermiculite which is making it retain more H2O than I anticipated, or wanted. Eh... I'll make a little channel a few minutes after I water and suck it out with a syringe.. I am going to pre wet the fabric on the pots and hope that will break the static barrier and allow water to escape faster... (Static barrier.. is that even right? )
I need to decide if I'm feeding, feeding more, or feeding less. Turns out this wasn't even needed. I just gave her a really good soaking and ended up with 15-20% run off which was perfect.
I bought a light meter and found out they were getting too little light. They were at 320par so I bumped the dimmer up to 8 and dropped the lights to 10". That gave me about 550. That's good enough... Let them get acclimated a few days and we'll go to 650.
9/10
Latest pics shows the blackberry anticipating the night cycle. That's why I think I'll always give a dark cycle I think it's good for their overall health to rest. And the cost of that extra 6 hours a day I'm being totally honest.
Just learned about the edge effect in led grow lights.... Learned it with a light meter. What a punch in the dick man.... I don't know how I overlooked that when I was researching the lights. Training just became a bit higher on the priority list. So for now the light narrative is:
"I'ma let it do what it do, baby."
-Ray Charles
They are doing really well. PAR is about 660ish on both. Damn good investment that light meter.
Managed to get in a watering with a little CalMag. ph: 6.4 EC: 0.2. and i did get enough run off to test. Gave each girl almost a gallon.
Blackberry auto: EC: 2.4, pH: 6.7.
Blue cheese auto: EC: 1.9, ph: 6.9.
Not terrible, but not that good either. I had hoped they'd be around 1.5 and 6.5. Skipping next feeding but watering with a buffered, dechlorinated tap, @ 6.2 or lower . Trying to nudge the pH down and dissolve the salts a little. Especially on the BlackBerry. She is such a beautiful little plant and doesn't like a lot of food shoved down her throat. Hopefully there won't be a problem. I had thought that she was stunted, but I think it was right on the border. Hopefully she'll still produce at least 2oz.
9/11
They are fattening up nicely man. Seeing it almost daily. I'm also seeing what looks like some P def going on with these purple and getting darker by the day fan leaf stems.. Could be genetics... And it could be the amount of light they are now receiving. Not totally sure but the EC is already getting close to too much. They are so damn green. Access to too much N I believe and that's from the worm castings and whatever N is mineralizing in that God forsaken fucking soil. Tiger Bloom has too much N in it already. BigBloom is a bit too mild, but maybe that's all I need atm. Sometimes I believe it was easier to grow without all the inward knowledge that is gained via all the instruments and meters. But maybe it was all luck back then too. This is the first time I've grown with city water and if I didn't have all this Intel, I'd be running around in circles trying to figure out why they are doing so bad. I'd be constantly over feeding with water that has no buffer to hold the pH and in about 2 weeks all this shit would hit at once. Well, now we know what to expect.
So, I need to decide what's on the menu for the next feeding. Or do I skip it and try to dissolve the current buildup?
Going forward by the last #'s I am going to only provide water. Being that I did just take them from 320par to 650par I believe that's why the stems are turning reddish purple, and I don't think it's a deficiency. They will be hungry af by the next feeding and I bet I will see the evidence of that by then.
9/12-13
Watered the girls tonight:
Solution in:
Dechlorinated tap water
CaCO3: 73 ppm
pH: 6.1, EC: 0.2
Runoff:
BCA EC: 1.8, pH: 6.9
BBA EC: 1.9 pH: 6.9
Par: ~720 both
Not bad. I think the actual pH is a point or 2 lower. I believe what's going on is as the soil drys back little pockets are dryer than others and this can push up the alkalinity in the rhizosphere causing the pH to spike a bit. I am hoping this all settles down in a day or two. You can look at these girls and tell they are happy.
Next time, we feed, and keep an eye on these stats. I caught a whiff of the top bud on the BBA and it smelled like creamy berries, lol. It surprised me.
We wait.
More to come ...

Swelling right up, and the smells! The BCAs little pre nugs are rock hard already. Well, I didn't go in there and squeeze the hell out of em, just a gentle touch, and the stickiness is already prevelent. More so on the BCA but the BBA... OMG y'all, she smells like creamy berries. So nice. I do not have a scrubber connected at the moment because I don't really need it yet, my grow room is kind of hidden in a room in the center of the house and you can only smell it, so far, in the grow/lung room. I'm not attaching another charcoal scrubber to get cashed out, until I really need it.
9/16
Feeding tonight. This will be the first real feeding, and I'm hoping like hell that pH is calming down. Dropped 4 points on the permanent Marker, so I'm hoping that these girls are at least holding if they didn't drops. I attempted to run my lights on 10. No... My lights are cheap AF. I didn't do the research I should have done and I'm paying for it now. They will grow some decent dope, just very inefficient at it. So I tuned them up to 10 via the AC Infinity controller and wow . I mean holy shit they are bright. The difference between 9 and 10 is ridiculous. For example, on 9, at about 11" I'm getting 800par. On 10 I have to raise them up nearly 20" and it's still on 1000par!!! Insane but it's unusable. They get so hot that you can't even touch the driver. Within 15 minutes the temp shot up to 84 and the AC was on 72 trying to cope but it was no use. I literally got a blister on my forearm from touching the fan driver! So it's not right.y grow room is 15x8 with a 10000btu ac, and with the tent open, the entire room was on the lower 80s. So that can't be safe. The only thing I can figure is the controller must be overdriving the lights. Thats a serious fire hazard and frankly it scared the shit out of me.
I know the more expensive lights, = 0 can get this bright without putting out heat like that. That shit was hotter than a 1000watt HPS.
So.. 9 will do for a few more runs and then I'll get something really nice.
9/19
It was the controller. So I dropped the connection to the lights via the adapter and added an outlet to the plug adapter. I also put the AC on a plug adapter and my god the difference. The temp is solid now. A 3° swing is all I get and it functions like clock work. I can't believe I didn't try the AC on an outlet before. I just assumed it wouldn't work, but this was the solution all along. So these lights aren't meant to be used with the ac infinity controller pro 69. I have them on 50% and damn. That's almost all I need. ~ 840 par at about 10", temps solid from 74.9 to 78.6, then it starts all over again. Finally, the system is working to expectations.
As for these 2 plants .... They look good but I didn't feed enough. Planning to increase the next feeding either tonight , or tomorrow. So... I'll need to give enough to get some decent runoff this time, and I'm afraid I may have to flush them after tonight. EC is probably gonna be 2.0.. but I could be wrong.
9/20
Fed both. 2gal dechlorinated tap water with 7ml liquid 6 fulvic/humic acid. Tiger bloom 16ml, big bloom 12ml, EC was 0.9 and pH was 6.1 going in.
Runoff results:
Blue cheese pH: 6.8 EC: 2.4
Blackberry pH: 6.6, EC: 2.8
Looks like we're flushing next time. Shit. I guess this is because of the soil. I'll be so glad when I get done with this "hybrid" grow. I'll never use soil that is not 100% ready again! I just hope I can bring these to a good harvest.
I'm still being careful with the nutes.... They still look hungry too. So... Let's see how the next 3 days goes
More to come...

Why isn't my blackberry turning purple? Doesn't look like it's going to. I must have gotten a green pheno. I've never grown purple weed so I was pretty excited. I know it doesn't have any effect on the strength I just wanted some for bag appeal. Oh well.
Doing well. Buds are swelling. My ex is double what it should be but I'm not seeing any evidence of toxicity yet. I have some sledgehammer coming in today and they will probably get a "light reset" tomorrow. Trying to bring them down to ~1.3, 1.4 down from 2.5 and 2.8. Looks like I'm making the right decisions so far (can't believe I just put that in writing ) the plants aren't getting any nutrients from the "uncooked" organics in the soil. And either way the salts I've been using is killing off the herd. It has to be one way or the other, and since the breakdown is t keeping up with the needs of the plants. I have to provide that bridge.
9/22
Flushing tonight.. well a little reset. Need to cut the EC in half. Followed up with a mild feed. Going up more on the big bloom and tiger bloom.
More to come...
@Fast_Buds, and thank you.. this will be my first attempt at an auto flower, and I'm running her outside. Good news is I have more FB genetics if I screw this one up!
