lov3m3mor3 Missed week five update… Almost at week seven. Figured out why my last round of plants did so poorly! It was definitely a pH issue. Tested for the first time today and the smallest plant, Dirty Mimosa, was 4 or lower. Nuclear Forest was around 6. Makes sense because elemental sulfur makes soil more acidic. Garden lime is 2-4 tablespoons per plant applied topically; it’s alkaline so I’ll retest next watering and see if that helped Ms Mimosa. Garden lime is also a great source of calcium so I can stop using my Cronk CalMag.

lov3m3mor3 First photo: Nuclear forest on the front left, Dirty Mimosa on the front right, pine tree kush JR. in the back middle. This was a stressful week for the girls. I bottom watered and shortly afterwards the bronze patches started appearing. I think that’s a deficiency related to using garden lime as a ph balancer, and not burn. Also the DIY fungicide made the mildew spread. Never doing that again. I went into the grow shop and asked some questions. I was looking for a fungicide, ended up with concentrated citric acid which can be used as an insecticide as well and is safe for application during flowering. BUT it can only be applied at night because the light and heat will cause it to burn the plant, and I have to mix it fresh every time I apply. My area has very wide ranges of temperatures in autumn between night and day. This causes an increase in condensation on some surfaces, and therefore mold or mildew. I am budgeting for a dehumidifier; in the meantime, I’ve reduced my light from 100% to 50% as that will reduce the day temp and I’m also turning the inline fan on blast at all times. Moved my rotating fan down to floor level and set it on 10.

lov3m3mor3 very happy about that fungicide last week. The mold has been defeated after applying once a night on affected areas of the plant. They’re extremely thirsty but I’m pushing to see how long I can go without water to let my tent dry out a little. Side dressed with the fish bone meal.

lov3m3mor3 Mold came back. I’m not starting my next grow until I have a dehumidifier. In the photo with all three plants, left to right they are: Nuclear forest, pine tree kush (in a different diary), Dirty Mimosa

lov3m3mor3 They smell awesome! Dirty mimosa is the shorter one, nuclear forest is much taller. Flowers are massive. These two aren’t struggling with powdery mildew as much as Pine Tree Kush JR did. Skipped a journal week on accident and mimosa got a little fried but she’s recovering. Aiming to harvest around week 18 pending powdery mildew issues.

lov3m3mor3 Just water this week! Not sure what’s up or whay I’m doing different between them, but dirty mimosa is fried dyed and laid to the side. Nuclear forest is doing great, lovely color. So far I’ve had the most luck with nuclear forest for size! She also seems like she is avoiding the mildew more than dirty mimosa which is nice. Still using nuke em. I’m defoliating every week right now because the leaves get too densely packed and will start developing mildew. I started keeping 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes with my supplies so that I can clean my shears every time I use them, habit was hard to maintain and this has really helped. The humidity dropped 20% after I chopped Jr. which I thought was hilarious, so I may maintain 2 plants in here even after I get a dehumidifier. I love micromanaging plants🧘‍♀️

lov3m3mor3 They’re almost done, aiming on getting to 18 weeks, and then I’m waiting for a dehumidifier to start my next round. Definitely having nutrient issues so next time we’ll have to see if they repeat in my next grow.

lov3m3mor3 The girls are giant. I do feel like this has been a successful grow despite issues that have come up. Still trying to figure out why dirty mimosa ended up so crunchy and dry on top. I hate powdery mildew, and it’s definitely due to fluctuating humidity— can’t wait to get a dehumidifier. It’s really hard to kick that mildew from Dirty Mimosa, I trimmed the problem branch last week pictured in the last few photos. I’m doing the big chop tomorrow because I don’t feel like I can leave this alone while traveling.

Unique smell! Heavy on diesel and peanut butter while in my tent. Dirty mimosa was on the shorter side, struggled with powdery mildew and had a nutrient deficiency briefly at the end. Despite the challenges of this grow she produced a great amount of flower. Can’t wait to taste; would definitely grow again if I had tighter control of the environment in my tent. Branches with mildew were not saved and dried, they were removed immediately and my scissors were sanitized. Final weight does not include sites affected by mildew. I’d estimate I lost 1/3 of this plant to mildew and I’m drying this plant away from my other drying plants to prevent any possible contamination.

This is the widest and tallest plant I have ever grown! Nuclear Forest smells like pine and diesel and did not struggle as much with powdery mildew, despite being in close proximity to Dirty Mimosa which was infested. Will be in my next round. Weight update to come.
