Rainbow_Treez โ€ฆ After finishing a pheno hunt with Cherry Zelato from Cookies Seed Bank (Gelato 45 x Watermelon Zkittlez) x Moonbow #112 IX x (Cherry Pie x Planet Purple), I dried, cured, and tested each of the 4 phenotypes, keeping the one that best matched the flavor profile I wanted. I chose this specific pheno because it shows minimal stretching during the pre-flower stage, and the buds, when fully grown, are very dense and heavy, with large colas that need support in the last weeks of flowering. The buds are visually impressive, displaying bright green colas covered in trichomes. However, the main reason I decided to keep this pheno is its strong z terps, which give off a scent like having my nose in a bag of red Zkittlez. After the harvest, I kept a few buds and leaves on each plant, labeled them to identify which one to keep, then adjusted the lighting to an 18/6 schedule in order to revert them back to vegetative growth. Once I decided which plant to keep, I allowed it to grow a bit before taking clones, ultimately selecting the best one to develop into a mother plant. CLONING PROCESS I start by selecting a node to take the cuttings from. I prefer to have 3-5 nodes on my cutting, allowing me to trim them down to just the top node. This provides exposed tissue when placed in the Rapid Rooter plugs, which aids in root growth. Using scissors i remove the extra nodes from the stalk, ensuring that the top nodes remain intact to supply the cutting with the energy it requires to survive and thrive. I make a cut at a 45-degree angle near the base of the stem. Typically, I perform this cut just below a pruned node. The pruned node will expose tissue that facilitates the effectiveness of the clonex gel, encouraging root development from the node. After making the 45-degree cut, I immerse it in clonex gel. Ensuring the cutting is evenly coated above the cut node. Prior to placing the clones into the Rapid Rooters, I soak them in 0.5mL of Voodoo juice per 1 liter of plain water for a minimum of 5 minutes. I squeeze out any excess water and use a match to clear the pre-made hole, ensuring there are no obstructions so the cutting can slide in effortlessly without resistance. I insert the Rapid Rooter plugs into the propagation tray, then pour 100mL of Voodoo juice solution into the bottom of the tray. I monitor them every few days, removing the dome lid and rehydrating the rapid rooter plugs to maintain moisture, and I also replenish the humidifier to ensure the appropriate humidity levels. One week later, I opened the propagator air vents. Ten days later, the clones have established roots, so I proceed with transplanting on day 11. Day 11 clones are planted into 2-liter pots and irrigated with 100mL of nutrient solution to ensure they are In tight and well supported.
