LandraceLarry This is my second grow ever and my first diary. I am planning a perpetual grow with 3 plants rotating in my 60x60/2x2 tent. I have a separate, very simple vegetative setup where I will germinate the next seed in 3-4 weeks.
Created my own custom substrate using 75% Biobizz light mix, roughly 20% worm castings, also threw in some coco and diatomaceous earth. I put in a drainage of clay pearls on the bottom of a 14 Liter Pot, then the substrate, on top I put a layer pure coco.
I read that using paper towel method is supporting pathogens so I germinated directly in soil. Took two days to sprout, way better than paper towel method last time (took 5 days, only 2 of 3 seeds made it, one was very weak and brown).

LandraceLarry Damn, my phone broke so the picture quality is worse than usual. I guess the plant looks great but I am worried I gave too much water three days ago because the soil is still rather moist. I have added a little bit of mycorrhiza, Acti-Vera and some Canna Vega. I guess the stem could be thicker so I am starting to expose the plant to some heavy wind every day. Started to reduce air humidity very slowly to 55-60%. My plan is to top this one near the end of week three, give it another week and then I will send it to flowering.

LandraceLarry growing well, the canope was growing rather aggressively so I had to defoliate 6 leaves. I think I saw a little spec of powdery mildew, have used hydrogen peroxide and neem oil as countermeasure. Plant has some crazy lateral growth, I think I should put this in flower in 3 days in order to steer the growth more upwards

LandraceLarry have adjusted ph a bit and continued mild supercropping. I think I supercropped one stem a bit too much, it is not coming up again. Buds seem to fatten now. I saw two gnats so I gave nematodes as preventive measure. I think I am seeing first signs of nitrogen poisoning so I am reducing fertilizing for now
LandraceLarry my tent is getting too humid but apart from that everything is going well. This one has quite a strong skunky smell, reminds me of a dead animal. Very pungent, almost unpleasant. Playing around a bit with my camera, I made sure to remove excessive lightning this time

LandraceLarry The smell has changed from dead animal to something absolutely beautiful. If I had to describe it, imagine putting a bunch of lemon peel, some fresh cut pieces of pinewood and a minor hint of fennel into a mason jar. The top buds were rather ripe already but the lower ones are not ready at all yet. Have harvested about 10g ( estimated dry weight) from the top buds and will give the rest another week to ripen.
After harvesting only the top few buds my fingers were so sticky, I was able to make a tiny amount of charas which was full of lemon flavor and absolutely amazing. I definitely have to put some weed aside and make bubble hash with it.

LandraceLarry Have harvested another 25g dry from this plant, so we are now at 40g in total and there is still lots to come. Harvesting in several steps and giving the buds individual time to ripen was a great idea, not limiting the number of colas after topping was not. Will give her another week and then chop the rest probably.
the issue with my topping:
I did not limit the plant to a certain number of colas (like someone recommended earlier). Due to this the plant has mostly grown small buds that get light very unevenly the biggest buds are furthest away from the light. This is super bad for my perpetual system because the plant is taking too much space and time and the foliage is growing too dense which is increasing humidity. Next time I will either not top at all or top and limit the plant to four colas and scrap any growth below the cut.
I grew this plant in a 60cmx60cm space with two other plants and most of the flowering time above 60% humidity. This should be a single, smelly white moldy snowball of lung disease but against all odds it has become a beautiful plant with an even more beautiful harvest. I love the effect. I hope one day I will be able to catch the aromas in the final product. Still have one harvest curing and one harvest drying, the harvest I did a few weeks ago smells really nice when it comes fresh out of the grinder and when I vape it, but the bag just smells like hay. That is due to my lack of experience though.
I am still baffled by the fact that the buds of this phenotype are smelling like dead feet like two weeks before they ripen but then just change to a basil, pepper, lemon, fennel seed aroma shortly before harvest. I think I have always been in love with African genetics and I would say the Power Plant is strong in this one, but the AK47 genes are putting me off the rail (which I like). Makes me super giggly, active, talkative and emotionally connected but it is difficult to focus on things I don't like after consumption and if I take a short nap after hitting a big bowl I wake up like a half baked mess. I think this strain is perfect for a jam session, unlocking this deep dive "play what you feel" mode but this is not the best for a power nap or doing linear admin work.

LandraceLarry so I guess the outcome is pretty decent. Unfortunately there are two main factors making my buds rather wispy:
1. Most of the flowering was in October and Early November, the humidty here was terrible. The region where I live is in a deep circular valley, October and April are extremely wet.
2. I did not crop correctly. Someone mentioned earlier in my topping question I should decide early how main main colas I want to have in the end. Only now I understand what this person meant: If you top and don't control the number of new branches growing, you will have a shitload of small buds instead of 4-6 big ones.
conclusion Sativa dominant plant in a very humid environment during flower equals whispy buds. The weed is still nice though, checking each indicidual bud before harvesting and letting them ripen if too glassy totally helped.
The total amount of dried bud is not measurable yet, will update at a later stage. So far I have harvested 40g dried buds, should be another 30g at least if not more.
Edit: Okay so the harvest was rather decent but I messed up the drying and curing process and lost most of the terps. The buds are rather larfy due to the high humidity but not as larfy as expected.
