1st Grow
Grow room: Homemade roughly 4x4 ft.
Lights: 2 cheap LEDs, supposed to be 1000W but probably like 100W each.
Exhaust: 4" with humidity and temp controlled thermostat. Passive intake.
Humidity: In dry basement, using a small humidifier to maintain about 60% humidity.
Medium: Promix HP
4/5 seeds were planted on March 4th when tap root was roughly 1/2 long, 5th seed was planed on the 5th because it wasn't quite as long.
Introduced nutes in week 2.
Used city tap water(let stand for 24 hrs to allow chlorine to evaporate).
PH after nutes was roughly 7.0, brought it down to about 6.0 by using apple cider vinegar (ACV). I have lots left because the girlfriend used to take a shot a day, but eventually found it too rough. I'm going to probably use ACV as PH down for the entirety of this grow.
Gave them nutes on their 7th day above ground, I probably should have waited for the slacker as she got a bit of nute burn, live and learn.
-Ponytailing seems to be working, getting light to the lower branches, trying to increase the overall width of the plant.
-Worried about the strength of my lights so I went and bought a 600W Meizhi. Combined them all so I have two shitty 1000W LEDs and my 600W Meizhi. I also put them on a 20/4 cycle, read giving them a break may help.
-They're drinking more and more, no problems I see as of yet.
-Tried a bit of defoliation on 2 of the bushier plants to help the light penetrate the canopy.
-4/5 started flowering at the end of the week. The girl who started a day late hasn't yet.
-Got 6 seedlings sharing the tent, they're going outdoors once it warms up.
-Flowering is going good, they're getting tall fast.
-More defoliation on the same 2 plants, 3 will not be defoliated for my own comparison.
-One girl is growing way taller than the others.
-The late bloomer has yet to start flowering but has caught up in size.
-I screwed around with my nutes and fed 2 times as per the GHE chart. This resulted in a lower level of Calcium which I believe compounded with me not feeding CALMAG caused a noticeable deficiency to start. CALMAG is ordered, hopefully the girls won't get to bad before it arrives.
-CalMag appears to have worked, new leaves appear to be normal.
-Still good growth.
-Midget plant still has not flowered, she's still getting bushier and I've applied more LST and done some more trimming, she should be pretty big once she starts flowering.
-First day of week 8 and its gorgeous outside after work, 71 F and Sunny as can be so I let them see the sun for a couple of hours. Everything seems to be going well, buds are growing, but the midget has yet to flower.
-Started getting too humid in the room at about 60% RH. Put dehumidifier in room and set to 45% and its holding, last thing I want is bud rot to start.
-Midget plant still hasn't flowered and is getting extremely bushy and thick, I decided to defoliate a bunch of the fan leaves to help light penetration once flowering does start.
-All buds are thickening up slowly, not sure if its because of the high RH. 3 Plants have pretty thick buds now. One plant doesn't have it packed on yet but I think it maybe because it was too close to the fan.
-They are beginning to drink quite a bit more, need to water about every second day now.
4/5 of my plants have been flowering for 2 weeks on a 20/4 cycle, while 1 remains in the vegetative state. Should I try and induce flowering by switching to a 12/12 cycle? If so will it effect my other plants?
Brother your so close to harvesting your WW. I would keep her in veg until the last week before your going to harvest then flip her. If she's getting to big slow her down by defoliating her a bit it will give you a bit of leeway. Putting your autos to 12/12 in the last won't effect your harvest weight since they're already done bulking up by the last week your just waiting for her to ripen up. Good luck
-Nothing super exciting, buds packing on more weight, will probably begin flushing mid next week.
-Midget still has not flowered but as recommended by @Silverback_Guerilla she will be seeing 24 hr of darkness and cold starting tonight to see if I can induce flowering.
-Watering probably every 2-3 days now.
-Temps and humidity holding steady with dehumidifier.
-I lowered lights to within 6 inches from the top of the tall girl, haven't yet had any light burn yet so I will carefully monitor.
-Went out of town for a couple days so I premixed my nutes and showed the girlfriend how to feed the girls. Thank the lord shes on board with my grow lol. This was their last feeding and from now until the end they will only be getting PH'd water. The end is near!
-After 24hrs of darkness and cold midget plant still didn't flower, I doubt its a photo because I'm growing photo WWs from cropking and they do not look similar at all. Might switch to 12/12 once these girls are done.
-Started flush on day 68
So I tried the 24 hrs of darkness and still nothing. I keep defoliating her and she keeps growing. I’m running out of room inside. Would putting her outside in 4C at night and 15C during the day keep her in veg or kill her?.
Seems to be one of those rare genetics that do not autoflower. Switch to 12/12 and see what happens after 10 days. If you put her outside to 4C she will do nothing, no growth, no flowering.
-Start of week 11 and the end is near! Never posted photos of my actual grow room so here they are. 4x4 with 1.5" of insulation for walls, all seems taped and a weather sealed door.
-Flush is under way.
-I appreciate all the suggestions on how to get the midget to flower. Unfortunately I can't put the room on 12/12 light because my photoperiods for outdoor are sharing the room until its warm enough to put them outside,so I've kinda fucked myself. As a result the midget will be staying under 24hrs of light from the shitty florescent I had laying around, and when it comes for harvest, if its not warm enough outside my photos will join it.
At that point I can hang my good lights there too.
-Ordered a jewelers loupe, should be here in a day.
-Day 78 (10 days since start of flush) and the end is very near except for the midget who continues to veg.
-Midget is now back and forth between outside and shitty fluorescent tube light (24hrs of light). I didn't want to put her in the grow room with the others and switch to 12/12 because it will also be my drying room, and once these finish up I'd have nowhere to continue the 12/12 light for the midget. Up in the air with what I'm going to do with her, I have 2 options.
Option 1: Give it to my brother to take minimal care of it for the remainder of the summer outdoors until it flowers naturally.
Option 2: Once these 4 girls are dried and in mason jars I can delay my next autoflower grow for 8 weeks while I flower her indoors under 12/12
-About 10% trichomes are amber now, I thought more would be at this point but I'm sure they'll continue turning. Thinking chop day will be friday night (day 81)!
-About 40% amber on on day 82, its a friday so I've decided to chop them today. They're currently hanging and drying, I'll post the dry weight in about 2 weeks once they're dried and trimmed.
Sampled it 2 days after curing started. Smells very strong like diesel. Very smooth and nice smoke. Very powerful high, no couch lock but made tv very enjoyable and made me hungry as fuck. Slept like a baby. Love it
1st grow in the books...kinda. 4/5 plants harvested, the 5th plant (midget) would not flower no matter what I tried. Put her in 24 hrs of cool darkness, nothing. Defoliated her 4 times, nothing. Put her under 12/12, nothing. I decided to put her outside in my flower bed. Hope she’ll flower come fall, I will continue to track her in my current outdoor grow. As for this grow I have no complaints, CropKing Seeds are fool proof! During trimming 3/4 plants had lighter buds while 1 had very dense rock hard ones. Very happy with the yield. I really hope the rest of my CropKing seeds turn out this well. Thanks to everyone for the help and encouragement throughout this grow. Happy growing all!
Edit: Midget is still vegging hard outdoors, go see in my other diary!
They're looking great man!👍
You've got a least another week of feeding to do on the flowering ones before you start flushing.
The midget is gonna be HUGE when all is said and done. You might consider putting her in the dark for 24 hours (and in colder temps) and then moving her back in the grow room to possibly trigger flowering.
You're gonna love the final result...the CKS WW's I grew last May in my "1st grow in 25 years" diary were some of the best plants I've grown all year.💪
@ButtersStotch,
LED sunglasses will also look after your eyes for you. I spend at least 2hrs a day in my grow shack. Sometimes much longer. So I definitely need the sunglasses.
I know this diary is nearing its end... but I'm going to start at the beginning.
Nice homemade setup. I did the same.
Best 🍀😁🤞🏼 and much 🧠with your 1st grow.
@SpaceCadet, goodluck dude, I'm starting some indoor White Widow Auto again as well as some Northern Lights, I'm going to follow the same as last time. I think the only deviations will be using Calimajic earlier and applying a little more LST. Good Luck man!
@DD_420, Thanks alot man Much Appreciated! I'm very happy with my first growing experience and I hope my second (first outdoor grow) goes just as good. Time will tell!
I’ve got the same seeds for CKS and my 1st grow also ☝️🏽 I’m pumped!! They look awesome sir 💯👌🏽 I’m 54-56 days in so far. Can’t wait to see your harvest
@Philindicus,thanks! And nope now vegging under 24 hr light. I’m going to put it in the grow room under 12/12 once these girls are dried and out of there
