ojulhao Welcome to my new diary!
For this season, I will be growing a single Blue Dream photoperiodic from Barney's Farm in my 60x60x140 cm (2'x2'x4.6') grow tent in a 20L pot. I know that's not optimal, I believe growing 2 or 3 plants in smaller pots would be faster. However, this is my first photoperiodic, and I want to focus more on a single plant rather than multiple ones, which is what I had been doing since I started growing. This was not ideal, as I ended up neglecting many factors across different plants since I didn’t have much time to take care of them.
I want to try SCROG for the first time with this plant. After reading a paper (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34579367/) indicating that pruning the plants twice during cultivation is the optimal practice for increasing yield, I decided to apply it as well. I will be using Green Power 5-1 and Vegan Phosphor Boost from S&R Organics. This time, I also got a mini dehumidifier, which I plan to use during the flowering stage—though I’m not sure how well it will work. These are my plans for this grow.
Hopefully, I will be getting at least 150g dry by the beginning of January! Let’s see, good luck to us!

About the germination
After 3 weeks trying to germinate a Sour Diesel seed without any success, I decided to improve my germination method. For that, I followed a scientific article (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33732764/) which describes a method with a high success rate. Here it is:
1. Prepare a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution.
2. Leave the seed in the solution for 18–24 hours, no longer.
3. Use the normal paper towel method.
Do this in a clean environment, avoid touching the seeds directly, use gloves if possible, and clean everything.
Since it’s simple, I decided to give it a try, and I successfully germinated a Blue Dream seed. I gave up on the Sour Diesel, as I had lost 3 weeks and wanted to harvest this plant no later than the end of the year.
After three days, I had a germinated seed and placed it in a Jiffy Pellet. I saw in one of BasementGanja’s videos on YouTube that he didn’t bury the seed under the Jiffy Pellet soil, so I decided to try that as well. I don’t recommend it, though—it seemed to take some time for the plant to stabilize, and it looked very strange at the beginning.

ojulhao This was the plant’s first week. She has been in a Jiffy Pellet since 23.08.2025 and grew a little. I didn’t feed her, nor did I control pH, temperature, or humidity this week. I placed her inside the grow tent, 32 cm away from the lamp, which was set at 40%.

ojulhao The plant has already developed two sets of true leaves and is growing the third. On 05.09.2025, I transplanted her into a 3L pot with a mix of 70% Light Mix and 30% coco, both from BioBizz. Since then, I’ve been feeding her with Green Power, but this week I only gave her 500 ml of water. From now on, I’m paying closer attention to humidity, temperature, and VPD.
She seems to be growing healthy. Let’s see how she does next week :)
