Gradually increasing light intensity: center of the tent measured 11k lux, plan is to raise by ~1k per day until reaching 18k lux. 09/23: Flushed 3 pots with 2 L of water + CalMag (EC 400, pH 5.8). Runoff measured EC 1200, pH 7.0 — will keep correcting with future irrigations. After flush, watered with 150 ml at pH 5.8, EC 850. Light intensity increased to 13k lux. 09/24: Flushed the remaining pots with 2 L each after seeing improvement in the first 3 yesterday. Then watered all with 150 ml solution: 1.8 ml/L CalMag + 0.8 ml/L Coco A + 0.8 ml/L Coco B (pH 5.8, EC 850). Light raised to 14k lux. 09/25: No watering today — substrate still moist. Light intensity raised to 15k lux. Fourth leaf set now visible 🌱. 09/26: No watering today — substrate still humid. Reduced light intensity back to 14k lux after signs of light stress reappeared. End of the week. 📝 Week 1 Summary Plants recovered well from early light stress, now developing 3rd–4th node. Fungus gnat population reduced thanks to sticky traps. Corrective flush helped bring down high EC and pH in runoff; feeding stabilized at ~EC 850. Light management remains delicate: seedlings responded better under 14–15k lux, but stress appeared at higher intensities. Overall: healthy vegetative growth is established, root system expanding, vigor improving. ➡️ Plan for Week 2 Gradually increase watering volume as root mass grows, monitor runoff closely. Keep feed around EC 850–1000 with CalMag + Coco A/B, adjust if runoff EC drops. Maintain light intensity at ~14k lux, increase very slowly only if plants show no stress. Watch for continued gnat activity, keep sticky traps in place. Target VPD: 0.8–1.0 kPa for balanced transpiration.

GuanoRomano 🌱 Week 2 – Vegetative Growth 09/27: Started the day noticing chlorosis on some leaves. The pattern matches an iron deficiency: interveinal chlorosis mainly on the newer leaves. After checking, this seems to be caused by a nutrient lockout, consistent with the high substrate pH since the beginning of the grow. Lesson learned for next time. Performed a heavy flush with 20 L of water per plant. Runoff dropped from EC 1200 → 500 and pH 7.1 → 6.7. From now on, I’ll water with enough solution to get ~20% runoff each time instead of just ~250 ml. Will also lower input pH to 5.6–5.7 to gradually bring substrate pH down into range. Noticed that some plants have started to give off a light smell 🌿. 09/28: Each plant watered with 1 L at pH 5.6, EC 950. Solution included 3 ml/L CalMag + 0.8 ml/L Coco A + 0.8 ml/L Coco B + 1 ml/L Deeper Underground. Runoff EC not measured (since heavy flush was done yesterday). Runoff pH still unchanged, same as yesterday (~6.7). Yesterday I lowered the light, today increased it back to 13.5k lux. Chlorosis is still advancing, hoping successive irrigations will help bring substrate pH down. 09/29: Watered again but with 500ml this time. Solution (same recipe as yesterday) at pH 5.6. Surprisingly, runoff pH rose higher than yesterday, now at 7.0, with EC 700. Light intensity increased to 14.5k lux. 09/30: Watered with 500 ml at pH 5.6, EC 1050. Solution included 3 ml/L CalMag (new bottle — seems to add more EC than the old one) + 1 ml/L Coco A + 1 ml/L Coco B + 1 ml/L Deeper Underground. Runoff measured EC 700–800, pH 7.0. Since the flush, stems have thickened significantly 💪. 10/01: Watered with 1 L at pH 5.6, EC 1200. Solution included 2.5 ml/L CalMag + 1 ml/L Coco A + 1 ml/L Coco B + 1 ml/L Deeper Underground. Runoff measured EC 650, pH 7.0. Substrate pH still not dropping, but plants are growing at a good pace. Only two plants continue to show chlorosis, while all show a noticeable thickening of stems this week. 10/02: Significant vertical growth observed — most plants stretched about 8 cm in the last 3 days. Watered again with the same solution as yesterday, but only 500 ml per plant. Input pH 5.6, runoff pH still at 7.0, EC 600–700. Chlorosis persists, and on one plant with symptoms, small brown spots appeared, suggesting a possible manganese deficiency. Also noticed what look like early pre-flowers (tiny pistils) on two plants, though it feels early for day 20. 10/03: Watered with the same solution as previous days (pH 5.6, EC 1200). Runoff remained stable at pH 7.0, EC ~600–700. Based on uptake, I plan to progressively raise input EC until EC in ≈ EC out. Gradually increasing VPD range, target for Week 3 is 1.0–1.2 kPa. --- 📝 Week 2 Summary 🚩 Main challenge: persistent high runoff pH (~7.0) causing chlorosis, initially resembling iron deficiency but later showing signs closer to manganese deficiency (brown spotting). Heavy flush reduced EC, but pH correction is progressing slowly. Plants responded with strong stem thickening and rapid vertical growth (+8 cm in 3 days). Aroma starting to appear on some plants 🌿. ⚡ Light stabilized around 14–15k lux, with adjustments to avoid stress. 🌱 Despite issues, most plants are vigorous, only 2 showing stronger deficiency symptoms. ➡️ Plan for Week 3 Irrigation: Increase input EC gradually until it balances with runoff (~EC in = EC out). Maintain runoff at ~20% each watering. pH management: Keep input pH at 5.6–5.7 to push substrate down from current ~7.0. VPD: Raise target range to 1.0–1.2 kPa for optimal transpiration. Light: Hold intensity ~14.5k lux, slight increases only if no stress observed. Monitoring: Track chlorosis spots closely — see if new growth improves once substrate stabilizes. GuanoRomano 🌱 Week 3 – End of Vegetative Stage 10/04 (Day 22): Watered with 500 ml at pH 5.7, EC 1300. Solution included 2.5 ml/L CalMag + 1.4 ml/L Coco A + 1.4 ml/L Coco B — Deeper Underground removed from the mix starting today. Runoff measured EC 700, pH 7.0. Considering removing a few fan leaves to allow more light penetration to the lower branches. 10/05 (Day 23): No watering today — pots still heavy and moist. The tips of new leaves are showing a very light green to yellowish color. Planning to start micronutrient supplementation directly in the nutrient solution in two days. Plants continue stretching rapidly; one grew 4 cm in the last 24 hours. Roots are now protruding through the fabric pots, indicating full root colonization. 10/06 (Day 24): Pistils visible on all plants — flowering will begin next week 🌸. Tried increasing light intensity to 20k lux, but plants showed stress, so it was reduced again. Still not obtaining reliable results with the lux meter, so I’ve ordered a PAR meter to better control light levels. Watered with 1 L of the same solution as Day 22. Runoff EC rising slightly to 750, pH stable at 7.0. Week 3 Summary — End of Vegetative Stage Strong vegetative finish: vertical growth continued steadily, some plants growing 4 cm in 24 h. Root zone fully colonized — roots visible through the fabric pots. All plants showing pistils → clear sign of transition to flowering. Light management tricky this week; stress appeared above 20k lux. PAR meter ordered for better control. Nutrient mix stable at EC 1300 (2.5 CalMag + 1.4 A/B). Deeper Underground discontinued. Introduce bloom additives gradually (PK boosters or bloom A/B if applicable). pH: Keep irrigation at 5.6–5.7 to slowly bring substrate down from 7.0. EC: Increase gradually toward 1400–1500 µS/cm as flowers initiate. Lighting: Use PAR meter to maintain 300–400 µmol/m²/s (~15–18k lux) during transition. VPD: Raise to 1.0–1.2 kPa for better transpiration and nutrient flow. Defoliation: Light removal of large fan leaves if necessary to expose lower sites. Observation: Watch for stabilization of new growth color and confirm consistent pre-flowering on all plants.

Input: EC 1300, pH 5.7 Runoff: EC 700–800, pH ~6.8 (finally starting to drop 🎉) Noticing clear phenotypic differences: one plant has reached 52 cm, while another is still under 30 cm — it’ll be interesting to see which performs better. Measured light with the new PAR meter, averaging 221 µmol/m²/s across the canopy. Plan is to increase dimmer by 5% every 3 days to optimize PPFD during early bloom. Performed some leaf tucking to allow better light penetration to lower branches. 📝 Notes (ongoing) Transition to flowering officially started. pH correction showing first results — runoff finally dropping below 7.
