First Grow (3 Cherry Runtz)

lazy_organics EN: Not much happened. One of the seeds is kind of crippled (see pic 3), but that happens i guess. The plant in the front (pic 2) has slight yellowing, probably due to light burn because it stretched and then got too close to the light (put it on 50% for two hours to tell the plant to stop stretching, seems like it listened). Both starting to grow their first set of "real" leaves :). The blue around the plants is Spirulina, read somewhere that this is supposed to help them develop roots, so i top fed 1 tbsp of Spirulina powder in 200ml of water to all three plants. Also seems like the wicks aren't pulling enough water into the soil (according to some cheap meter i got for free), so i am planning to transplant the two growing babies into two 30x40 boxes (downsize due to the weight of the soil, scared its gonna break the current soil box) with proper new wicks, when they arrive in the mail. GER: Ist nicht viel passiert, habe 1 Teelöffel Spirulina in 200ml Wasser gegeben und um die Pflanzen gegossen, da die Erde etwas zu trocken war (Dochte ziehen nicht genug Wasser) und ich gelesen habe, dass das gut für das frühe Wurzelwachstum sein soll. Außerdem hat eine der kleinen vermutlich wegen zu wenig Feuchtigkeit gespargelt, nach dem Tropfen Wasser und kurzen 50% Lampenstärke hat sie sofort aufgehört. Sonst scheint es gut zu laufen, die ersten Blättchen bilden sich. Ich plane derzeit, nächste Woche nach Erhalt eines neuen Bewässerungsvlies (welches sicher genug Wasser ziehen wird) einen Umzug in zwei 30x40cm Euroboxen, da mir der durchhängende Boden der Erdbox derzeit Sorgen bereitet.

lazy_organics EN: Upped the dimming to 50% and slightly raised the lights. Repotted into smaller containers with sturdier bottom, to avoid the previous flexing. As this lost me some amount of soil i reapplied 70g of horse manure into the soil. Hydrations seems to be working better with the new wicks and my sturdiest plant so far is about to develop the third node. One of the Cherry Runtz seedlings died, because the root got stuck in the piece of paper i used to keep its moisture up, so i added some freebie seeds (Critical Punch - will add another report) to not waste space in the boxes. GER: Die Lampe läuft jetzt auf 50%, in der Hoffnung dass die kleinen Keimlinge so besser wachsen können. Habe in kleinere Container mit verstärktem Boden umgetopft, wobei ein Teil der Erde, die ich ursprünglich hatte, weggefallen ist - demnach habe ich noch einmal 70g Pferdemistpellets ausgetragen. Mit den neuen Dochten scheint die Wasserversorgung besser zu funktionieren. Um keinen Platz zu verschwenden, habe ich ein paar kostenlose Samen (Critical Punch) neben die Cherry Runtz Pflanzen gesetzt. Einer der Cherry Runtz Keimlinge ist mir verreckt, weil die Wurzeln in den Fetzen Küchenrolle, den ich zur Bewässerung benutzt habe, gewachsen sind.

lazy_organics EN: Underestimated how dry the top layers of the soil would get, even with the proper wicks. One of the Cherry Runtz plants is probably gonna die, the other one looks kind of albino for some reason but it still developed new leafs in the last 2 days. Mysterious little critter. I watered like 300ml around the plant so that the soil is moist again. GER: Ich habe unterschätzt, wie trocken die obere Erdschicht trotz ordentlicher Dochte wird und habe dementsprechend nicht nachgewässert - das hat mich noch eine der Kleinen gekostet. Die übrige Pflanze ist jetzt aus irgendeinem Grund Albino, aber wächst immer noch, bin gespannt was da raus kommt. Ungefähr 300 ml Wasser wurden pro Pflanze gewässert.

lazy_organics EN: This week she started growing way faster than before. Added 2 coffee pucks from the espresso machine to the soil, as she was showing a small bit of nitrogen deficiency. Also saw some signs of Mg deficiency, but with the lowered PH due to the sour coffee this seemed to have leveled her in again. Bent her to the side to promote bushier growth, as i am scared of topping and i have seen this work well for autos. Planning to flip in around 2 weeks, if the growth will stay the same. GER: Die Pflanze ist diese Woche sehr viel stärker losgewachsen als in den vorherigen Wochen. Anfang der Woche habe ich zwei Pucks aus meinem Siebträger in den Boden gebracht, da die Pflanze nach Stickstoff geschrien hat. Leichte Anzeichen eines Magnesiummangels sind (wahrscheinlich durch den dadurch angesäuerten Boden) wieder verschwunden. Habe mit leichtem LST angefangen, ähnlich wie bei Autos, dadurch erhoffe ich mir mehr Wachstum in die Breite ohne die Vegetation unglaublich lang zu ziehen. Plane die Pflanze/n in ungefähr zwei Wochen zu flippen, da die jetzt scheinbar sehr viel schneller wachsen und bald die Fläche ausfüllen.

lazy_organics EN: Kept pulling her down with LST, changed the "configuration" of the LST wire 2 times this week, as she quickly started growing out of my set bounds. Very good reaction to the attempt at horizontal growing. I know i said 2 weeks into flower last week, but i think topping her next node to get 5-6 well exposed side branches might be the way to go, will see how i decide based on the branch development next week. Added some more coffee grounds this week (~40g, read somewhere its about 2-0-0, so should be fine), as the other plant in the pot continues to have two yellow leaves at the bottom. Topped of the water tank with around 2-3l of water, added some agent against fungus gnats via top dress. GER: Ich habe den Haupttrieb über die Woche versucht so gut es geht unten zu halten, da sich die Kleine sehr schnell von dem ursprünglichen Herunterziehen erholt hat und direkt die nächste Nodie in "normaler" Ausrichtung bilden wollte. Die Seitentriebe an den so ausgeleuchteten Knotenpunkten sind gut nachgekommen, insgesamt scheint der Strain sich sehr gut trainieren zu lassen. Überlege noch ein wenig länger zu warten, bis sich 5-6 Seitentriebe gebildet haben und dann zu toppen, damit ich eine mainline-ähnliche Struktur bekomme. Habe weiterhin aufgrund von Anzeichen eines N-Mangels in der anderen Pflanze im Topf Kaffeereste in die Erde gegeben (soll laut Internet 2-0-0 sein, müsste also nicht überdüngen). Wassertank musste jetzt tatsächlich ein wenig aufgefüllt werden, waren ungefähr 2-3 Liter. Habe außerdem ein Mittel gegen Trauermücken von oben gegeben.

lazy_organics EN: finally realized that the problems i have been seeing with the plants was too much fertilizer. Took the box for a shower to wash out some of the nutrients, while i did that i saw some roots growing into the water tank. Fimmed during the week to keep the height in check and removed some leaves that covered lower branches, the side branches started coming up quick after the FIM. GER: Hab endlich gemerkt, dass das Problem die ganze Zeit Überdüngung war. Habe versucht, dem ganzen mit einer Dusche Einhalt zu gebieten. Beim Duschen ist mir auch aufgefallen, dass ein Stück Wurzel in den Wassertank gewachsen ist. Am Anfang der Woche habe ich außerdem einmal gefimmt und die drei größten Blätter entfernt, infolgedessen sind die Seitentriebe ein gutes Stück in die Höhe geschossen.
