Apple Fritter/ Royal Jack/ Royal AK

-Gera- Developments are normal. The Apple Fritter is lagging a bit.

-Gera- I started defoliating the upper fan leaves in the second week because I was too scared to top. Slight problems with fungus gnats.

-Gera- Unfortunately, I made the soil too alkaline (drain of 8.1), and therefore decided to water with osmosis water. The defoliation of the fan leaves was continued on all 3 plants at different stages.

-Gera- I got myself a new, more compact tent (90x60x180) and I'm really happy about the organization. I'm still watering with osmosis water and not fertilizing.

-Gera- The plants are growing as intended, nice and bushy with hardly any height. They are all already in pre-flowering, and the Apple Fritter (on the right) has hardly been defoliated and was able to catch up. Left = Royal AK Auto Middle = Royal Jack Auto Right = Apple Fritter Auto

-Gera- The first signs of calcium deficiency are showing. From this point on, I'll be adding 1ml/L of CalMag from Biobizz every time. The next soil will be enriched with dolomite lime, as my goal is to completely avoid fertilizing. Otherwise, there haven't been any problems with the first indoor grow so far.

-Gera- This week the tent got an upgrade. 3x 120mm PWM PC fans with mounting parts from 3D printing. The Calmag deficiencies are increasing, but they seem to be stabilizing slowly. The Royal Jack is getting a bit yellow on top and has some burnt leaf tips. Unfortunately, the plants look somewhat underfed at the bottom (maybe pH issues). I'm not doing anything for now and just observing the whole situation.

-Gera- Update is coming

-Gera- More and more deficiencies that I attribute to the pH level. I'm watering with osmosis water + 4ml/L Biobizz Bloom and about 1ml/L calmag. Unfortunately, the drain is at 7.3-7.4 pH even though the water starts at 6.5-6.7.

-Gera- Still struggling a bit with the deficiency symptoms and unfortunately don't know exactly what the cause is. The leaves at the top are turning yellow. Overall, a bit of slowed growth, except for the Jack Herer (on the left).

-Gera- I have now switched from 20-4 to 18-6 within 2 weeks. Also, I noticed bud rot on the Jack Herrer towards the end of the week and decided to remove the whole bud. Luckily, I saw it very early (brown sugar leaf). A few days later, I had to remove 2 bananas from the AK. Overall, the growth of the AK has almost completely come to a standstill. Almost only foxtails are forming now. The high humidity of 65-80% and low temperatures of 18-24 degrees Celsius are really unsatisfactory at the moment.

-Gera- From now on, I'm only watering with osmosis water + Epsom salt. I estimate that the AK and Apple Fritter will be ready for harvest around the end of the 13th week. The Jack Herrer might take about a week longer. The exhaust and circulation fans have been turned up due to the mold. Unfortunately, one bud of the Apple Fritter is affected by bud rot. I cut off the whole head bud just to be safe and checked another one. The Apple Fritter is also growing very compact and firm. My fingers really smelled like apple rings afterwards :) Luckily, it's getting colder and thus drier by the end of the week. RH is at 52-60%.

-Gera- This will be the last week. The Jack Herrer already has some amber-colored trichomes, but unfortunately still too many clear ones. I estimate it will be ready in 7-10 days. At the beginning of the week, I removed almost all the fan leaves from the upper level and regret not having done it sooner. The currently high humidity can only be reduced with very high energy consumption, so it stays that way.

-Gera- On the 89th day after germination, the AK Auto was harvested. A proper review will follow after drying. The grow was OK. I tested all 3 plants with different levels of defoliation, and the AK was the most defoliated. It developed many colas, but unfortunately, the buds stayed really small. In the 13th week, I had to remove bananas every day. The biggest plus is the amount of resin. Smoking experience/effect: - dried quickly due to the small buds and smokes pretty well. - tastes like citrus and pine - the effect is really strong. You get really tired and relaxed. I could have harvested the plant a few days earlier. - will be my goodnight weed for the time being. Surprisingly, it even turned out to be 73g dry (59-60 humidity in the jar).

-Gera- The Royal Jack was very easy to grow and produced thick buds. I'm looking forward to the smoke test after drying. The plant is hanging on the right side. Drying is done at 18-19°C and 50-60% RH.

-Gera- The cultivation was relatively easy. She showed signs of deficiency after 3-4 weeks of flowering. The upper canopy developed its own autumn colors, which stressed me out a bit since I didn't know if it was a deficiency or normal. The fresh smell is somewhat reminiscent of vomit, but after a short time, my fingers really smell like apple rings. I'm curious to see how she turns out after drying and how she tastes.
