DapperDabber The Northern lights was abandoned. The purple bud grew odd genetic deformations and was quite behind on development so it was plucked. The survivors being, the Gorilla Cookies and Strawberry gorilla. A 1/1 success rate for both. Both were top watered for the first time until minimal runoff. They were given "Real Growers Recharge" The mesh vents were opened up on both sides and the ventilation fan was set to a low vpd trigger of .7 and a high vpd trigger of 1.3. The VS4000 was upped to 50% intensity and the daylight cycle was set 20 hours on and 4 hours off. I think Thursday is a good time for me to provide updates. I'll try to be consistent.

DapperDabber Watered until runoff @ 20 days (10/08) VS4000 is at 50% for 20/4 @ 16" away. Environment is set to 1.0-1.3 VPD at 80f day/70f night temps.

DapperDabber They were watered 10/10 + 10/12 + 10/14 or about every 48 hours this week. Maybe a bit much. I am waiting for the ladies to pick their feet up, so I can put down a generous top-dressing. The environment had some equipment downtime so we weren't ideal. It got bit too cold at night and a wee hot during the day. It has also been quite dry, I haven't been as proactive about refilling the humidifier as I should be. They're growing like crazy, I was excited before about these genetics and the vigor is exceptional. Reasonably priced even. I'd love to try and compare the fast flower G.C. to the regular G.C. auto I have right now. I didn't forget to update, I'm proud of myself.

DapperDabber The ladies are quite vigorous! I've been abusing them with high dli, and a small accidental drought period but they've blown up impressively. They were top dressed with buildasoil's worm castings and Gaia greens 4-4-4 about an inch or so. I removed the mulch to ensure a good mixing and returned it afterwards.

DapperDabber I apparently didn't post last week. Luckily I did take pictures. This week automated irrigation has begun. Using a 12" hydro halo and a 400gph Vivosun water pump they're watered daily in cycles of 12 seconds on and 9 minutes and 48 seconds off. This equates to roughly 1/16 gallon per cycle per plant. They started the week with 4 cycles (1/4 gal/day per plant) and each day I added a cycle until there was drips of runoff ending the week at 6 cycles. On Thursday they received a slow and deep watering until quite a bit of runoff in the drip tray. The humidifier was removed as it was able to sustain a reasonable humidity with the canopy alone. I absolutely love the reddish tones on the underside of the strawberry gorilla. These ladies a beautiful.

DapperDabber They are up to 8 dripper cycles for a total of 1/2 gallon per plant per day (no runoff) The light was raised significantly and intensity was increased to the maximum. The flowering stretch seems to be slowing after 2 weeks. I would say flowering started close enough to the last vegetative week update.

DapperDabber They are up to 11 dripper cycles (12 seconds on 9 min. 48 seconds off) at 1/16th gallon per plant for an odd number of 11/16th gallon per plant per day. I just dried and cured my 5x5 and realized I did not want to trim anything small. I've got plenty more seeds of each so here in week 2 of flowering I broke my no defoliation/lollipopping rule. I do plan on growing these genetics without training soon, I'm too burnt out on trimming for this run. I apologize.

DapperDabber 62 days from the day I had sewn the seeds. 58 days from the day they first emerged from the soil. They have dropped one dripper cycle for a total consumption of 5/8 a gallon of water per day, per plant. I decided to split up the cycles so now 5 cycles run from 1:00am to 1:50am and another 5 cycles run from 8:00am to 8:50am (10 seconds on / 9 minutes 48 seconds off) This comes from the idea of maintaining a bit more consistent moisture and narrowing the ebb and flow of soil moisture throughout the day. The buds are fattening up considerably! I personally like to harvest later than earlier. I have had a few experiences where a heady high from an "earlier" harvest can give me an uncomfortable experience. I prefer the body-oriented experience. That said, at 58 days from the seeds sprouting today I am quickly approaching the breeders anticipated harvest window. In one week I will be keeping a close eye for my preferred harvest cues. (Darkening pistils and general senescence as well as reduced water uptake) I anticipate three more updates after this. One general update next Thursday, one update the day of harvest (if I remember) and one to report the official dried weight and my (amateur) review. I just started my 5x5 back up again. DapperDabber The time is almost here! They are going through senescence. I've reduced the light intensity and increased the distance further for a gentle farewell. They are still drinking an amount that although reduced makes me think they've got another week in them! The leaves look like they're tired, but the pistils make me feel like she'll continue to fatten up a bit more. I want to try harvesting without a loupe, not that I haven't or think it isn't sufficient but simply because I wanted to try these last few runs. The Strawberry Gorilla has absolutely beautiful coloring all around not given proper justice by my photo quality. The Strawberry gorilla has a stunning reddish/purple hue from the stem to the underside of the leaves. They both have a lovely fall coloring to them. The grow room is getting quite cold as the winter approaches. I'm excited to see more of the Strawberry Gorilla in my 5x5 as it has such unique characteristics so far. The Gorilla cookies, has impressive fat main colas im curious to see the dry weight of those colas! The Gorilla Cookies has a bit of a spicy/peppery and sweet smell and the Strawberry Gorilla has an impressive strawberry smell. I was a bit stunned to smell strawberry, we'll see if it sticks around and if the four in my 5x5 end up with a similar smell. Next update might be in a few days! or it might be next Thursday?? I might do an initial hanging dry but I would like to tinker with my DIY dry/curing fridge. I will keep a close eye in the coming week and hopefully this diary helped someone!
