Germination
10mo ago
TerpCloudzZz This week was all about germination and strain diversity. A total of six different strains were successfully brought into the germination phase: Super Boof, Black Cherry, Don Mega, Blueberry Cupcake, Peach Crescendo, and Permanent Marker. The seeds come from renowned breeders like Tiki Madman, Humboldt Seed Company, Elev8 Seeds, Seed Stockers, and Solfire Gardens – a promising gene pool with various genetic traits. Germination took place classically in a water bath, followed by placement in labeled cups for better tracking. First root tips are already visible, indicating high vitality and quality of the feminized seeds. Particularly exciting will be the development of the strains Fishy Zoap and Drizzl Pickl, which were also prepared and stand out due to their exotic terpene profiles. Learning impulse of the week: The germination rate depends not only on genetics but also on ambient temperature, water quality, and hygiene during handling. A constant temperature between 22–25 °C and the use of stale, pH-neutral water can significantly increase the success rate. Outlook: In the coming week, the germinated seeds will be transferred to a lightly fertilized substrate. The goal is to promote strong root growth and prepare the plants for the veg phase. At the same time, a light plan will be created to optimally meet the different needs of the indica and hybrid strains.

TerpCloudzZz 🌱 Grow Diary – Week 1: Germination & Seedling Phase 📅 Period: Week 41 Phase: Germination & Planting in Substrate 🌍 Setup: Indoor Grow Tent with LED Lighting, Reflective Inner Walls, 15 Labeled Pots 🔍 Activity Overview Germination started: The feminized seeds were soaked in water (classic method) and then transferred to labeled cups. Visible signs of germination after 24–48 hours at optimal temperature (22–25 °C). Strain Variety: A total of 15 different strains were used, including: Super Boof, Black Cherry, Don Mega, Blueberry Cupcake, Peach Crescendo, Permanent Marker Fishy Zoap, Drizzl Pickl, Barcelona Puff Banana Series: Banana Kush, Banana Zkittlez, Banana OG, Banana MAC, Banana Runtz, Banana Cake, Banana Sherb Substrate: Lightly fertilized soil with perlite for better drainage and aeration. All pots are neatly labeled for seamless documentation. Lighting: LED Grow Light with White Spectrum, 18/6 Light Cycle to Promote Root Development and Photosynthesis. Distance to the Plant: approx. 40 cm. 🌿 Plant Status First seedlings visible in several pots, particularly with Blueberry Cupcake, Permanent Marker, and Banana Kush. Even moisture in the substrate, daily checks with a spray bottle to avoid waterlogging. Temperature consistently at ~24 °C, humidity at ~65 %. 📚 Learning Insight of the Week “Germination is the foundation for vitality.” A clean environment, stable temperatures, and proper handling are crucial. Even small mistakes like too much water or light stress can hinder development. Tip: Never expose seedlings to direct light – they need warmth, not UV radiation.

TerpCloudzZz 🌿 Grow Diary – Week 2: Vegetative Phase Begins 📅 Period: Week 42 Phase: Early Vegetation 🌍 Setup: Indoor grow tent with LED lighting, reflective walls, 20+ labeled pots, active air circulation 🔍 Overview of Activities Seedlings Established: Most seeds have successfully germinated and show the first leaf pairs. Banana OG, Double Bubble, and GMO Cookies appear particularly vigorous. The stretch is moderate, indicating good light distance and stable conditions. Substrate Care: Soil with perlite shows good drainage. Watering behavior has been adjusted: less volume, but more frequently, to promote root formation and avoid waterlogging. Light & Climate: LED grow light continues on an 18/6 cycle. Temperature remains constant at 24–25 °C, humidity slightly lowered to ~60% to prevent mold formation. A small circulating fan provides gentle movement – important for sturdy stems. 🌱 Plant Status Growth: The plants show the first true leaf pairs (Serrated Leaves) and are beginning to develop their root systems. Some pots like Raspberry Glue and Funky Runtz #4 show particularly strong development. Strain Observation: The Banana series is developing uniformly, while Chapultepec and Brazilian are starting a bit slower – here, the light intensity is slightly increased locally. Care: First application of root stimulator (e.g., Rhizotonic) has been carried out. No signs of over-fertilization or stress. Leaves are lush green and show no discoloration. 📚 Learning Insight of the Week “In the veg phase, the foundation for later yield is laid.” A balanced ratio of light, air, and water is essential. Particularly important: air movement to strengthen cell structure and prevent fungal infestations. Tip: Rotate plants daily to promote even growth.

TerpCloudzZz 🌿 Grow Diary – Week 3: Growth & Structure Development 📅 Period: Week 43 Phase: Established Vegetation 📍 Setup: Indoor grow tent with LED lighting, reflective walls, active air circulation, 20+ labeled pots 🔍 Weekly Overview Growth Progress: The plants are now stable in the vegetative phase. Most show 4–6 leaf pairs, with some already having the first side shoots. Care & Climate: Temperature: constant at 24 °C Humidity: slightly lowered to ~55 % Light Cycle: 18/6, LED with ~300 PPFD Air Circulation: circulating fan + passive air exchange Watering Behavior: adjusted to need – plants with stronger growth receive more water as needed Nutrients: First application of mild veg fertilizer (EC ~1.0) was well received. No signs of over-fertilization. Some plants are additionally receiving CalMag to stabilize cell structure. 📚 Learning Insight of the Week “Vegetation is not just growth – it is architecture.” This is when it’s decided how the plant will later absorb light, how it will carry, and how it will handle stress. Tip: Starting LST early allows you to direct the main shoots and optimize light distribution. Removing the first lower leaves can also help direct energy more efficiently.

TerpCloudzZz 🌿 Grow Diary – Week 4: Structure, Selection & Stabilization 📅 Period: KW 44 - 04.10.25-11.10.25 Phase: Mid Vegetation 📍 Setup: Indoor grow tent with LED lighting, reflective walls, active air circulation, 20+ labeled pots 🔍 Weekly Overview Growth Behavior: The plants are now showing clearly differentiated phenotypes. Some strains are developing strong main stems and a compact leaf structure. Others are showing slight stretching – the light distance has been adjusted here. Care & Climate: Temperature: consistently at 23–24 °C Humidity: lowered to ~50 % in preparation for pre-flowering Light Intensity: slightly increased to ~400 PPFD Air Circulation: fan running 24/7, slight rotation of plants for even distribution Nutrient Management: Veg nutrients have been increased to EC ~1.2. CalMag is still being used as needed. No signs of nutrient deficiency or over-fertilization – leaves are lush green, no discoloration or curling. 📚 Learning Insight of the Week “Now the architecture of the plant begins – those who shape, win.” The fourth week is ideal for Low Stress Training (LST), topping, or light defoliation. The goal is to optimize energy distribution and bring light evenly to all shoots. Tip: When topping, always pay attention to the third to fifth internode – that’s where the plant is stable enough and responds with strong side growth.

TerpCloudzZz Pheno Hunt – Week 5 Growth Date: Week 42 / 5th Week of Vegetative Phase Setup: Indoor, tent, LED lighting, organic substrate Goal: Selection of stable, vigorous phenotypes for mother plants Observations The plants are now showing clear differences in growth form and vitality. Some of the stock is developing a compact, bushy growth with a tight internodal structure – clear Indica tendency. Other phenos are growing more open and stretching more towards the light. Color-wise, there are differences: Some specimens remain dark green and vigorous, while others lighten up in the upper area. This indicates slight nitrogen deficiency or pH drift. No visible signs of pests. Actions • Checked pH level of the nutrient solution (target range 6.2–6.5) • Slight adjustment of the nutrient profile (more N, micro-supplement with CalMag) • Prepared to transplant the strongest plants into larger containers • Observation of root development and internodal distances Conclusion Overall healthy development. Phenotypic differences are becoming clearer. From week 6 onwards, closer selection will begin based on structure and response behavior to nutrient supply.
