Woodythedog second week at 12/12 all 3menda are female, a few days ago I proceeded to remove some leaves that were covering some branches, we'll see how they will behave... 💣
@Woodythedog, I have some pollen that I keep in little boxes in case I want to use it in the future. I have pollen fromAlien Sparkle (hybrid), and I have pollen from a PCK x MAC, (hybrid that I nicknamed him pac man) and Rosie IBL. Once you get the pollen, dry it out by putting it in a box with those little desicant packs. Moisture will kill it, or encourage mold/mildew to eat it. Then after 3 weeks or a month you can move it to cold storage, fridge or freezer. But yeah, sometimes its like that. When you just use 3 sometimes even 4 seeds we can get all males or all females. Im glad you arent letting it get you down. 3 beautiful ladies is nice company!
@Woodythedog, In my diary for Shireen I have a video where I am collecting pollen from a male. If you just want to pollinate one bud or branch instead of the whole plant, what I do is take it to an isolated area, I use the bathroom. Then I cover the whole plant loosely with thin a plastic trash bag. Then I cut a hole and let one branch stick out, and tape the bag around the branch so no pollen can get inside. Pollinate that branch by using a small soft haired makeup brush. The brushes are inexpensive and work just fine. Be gentle or you can pull off the pistils. After 8-12 hours I use a spray bottle and spray down that branch really good. More like several rinses. The water deactivates any pollen. Then gently remove the bag, and spray the entire plant down. Shower time. Then she can go back to the normal grow space. After ~5, 6 weeks the seeds will be mature. Best is to let the plant have plenty of time to mature those seeds. The branch thats pollinated will turn brown with senescence, this means nutrient transfer to the seed is complete. You can see an example, a picture of this in my diary Sativa of Enlightenment. When working with pollen always be careful not to disturb the air too much. Move careful, slowly and gracefully and be aware of your breathing. I often hold my breath when working with the brush, breathind out of the side of my mouth. Its a good idea for beginners to wear a dust mask, because its easy to forget and make a mistake. If you use a deep jar or container for pollen this helps too. One mistake and you could have many hundreds of seeds more than you want.
