Germination
1mo ago
DegenMJ Germinated these in Rapid Rooters in an empty egg carton, moistened with 6.5 pH water with a couple drops of hydrogen peroxide (per cup), and they all sprouted between 48-72 hours (10/10), except the seeds from ILGM and MSNL which never germinated, even after 8 days. The day after I planted most of them in 2gal pots of soil, I noticed a ton of fungus gnats, so I put yellow sticky traps all over the grow tent and added B.t. to my water, which combination seems to have gotten rid of them all.

DegenMJ Week 1 is off to a great start for those that germinated. The outside temperature and humidity have been great, and I've been making small tweaks throughout the week to bring it down using my portable A/C and add humidity using a diffuser. The Pink Rozay Auto sprout is missing a leaf, although I expect it will catch up with the others when the next set of leaves begin to develop. All the FastBuds sprouts are 3 inches tall, whereas the Zamnesia sprouts are 2 inches tall.

DegenMJ Plants are doing great. The FastBuds plants are all 4 inches tall, and the Zamnesia plants are 3 inches tall. All working on their 3rd sets of leaves. Weather was great this past week, a little less humid than ideal although I used a humidifier to bring it up when possible. Also temperature was slightly cooler than last week. After I topped the pots off with more soil I noticed more fungus gnats a couple days after, so I added more yellow fly traps and flushed all the plants with water and B.t. at 1 tsp/gal again.

DegenMJ Plants are still doing well. The FastBuds plants are all 7 inches tall (+3 from last week), and the Zamnesia plants are 5 inches tall (+2 from last week). All have at least 4 sets of leaves. I topped all of them, most above the 4th sets of leaves and the Apple Strudel and White Truffle above their 5th sets (although there wasn't much growing above those 5th sets and I may have FIMMed them). Weather was great again this past week. There still seem to be fungus gnats, so I replaced some of the yellow sticky pads to assess just how many there are. I may need to add something stronger than B.t. to the soil since two treatments of it didn't seem to kill them all. These plants don't seem quite as tall as some of my past grows have been during week 3, and also don't seem as bushy, but are still growing better than my most recent past grow (winter last year).

DegenMJ Plants are all healthy, and temperature and humidity in the grow tent have been great. Still fungus gnats, so bumped up the B.t. from every other feeding to every feeding, and also added a layer of perlite on top the soil to help deter the adult gnats form laying eggs there. Guava, apple strudel, and frostbanger are all 13" tall, gelato is 11" tall, and pink rozay and white truffle are 8" tall.

DegenMJ Plants are all healthy, and temperature and humidity in the grow tent were about the same as last week, slightly cooler. Still fungus gnats, so still feeding B.t. 1 tsp/gal every feeding. Significant height growth this week for most of the plants. Frostbanger went from 13" to 21.5". Apple strudel went from 13" to 18". Gelato went from 11" to 18". Guava surprisingly didn't grow much and only went from 13" to 15", so I moved it to being one of the two plants directly under the light. Pink rozay and white truffle went from 8" to 15". Worth mentioning is that I haven't done any training at this point other than topping during week 3. For my past couple grows I may have stunted their growth and yield by doing not only topping but too much LST and defoliation, so for this grow I haven't done anything other than topping week 3. However, if the plants start to get so tall that I can't move the grow light up any more I may start bending down the top shoots, if they are still bendable at that point. Another change I've made this grow, in addition to adding silica and tiger bloom nutes (and adjusting nute concentrations) is making sure I get a good amount of runoff after watering, since during my last grow I didn't do that and it that similarly may have stunted their growth, either by salt buildups or not enough bottom root saturation.

DegenMJ Great week, all plants are healthy with no signs of yellowing nor stress. These are a much darker green color than most of my past grows on week 6, so I was probably not giving those enough water and/or nutes. Still no LST and no defoliating. My hope is that with the topping several weeks ago, these fill totally fill out the grow tent without having any overgrowth issues. The grow light isn't quite all the way to the top of the tent yet, but it's getting close! On height growth this week: Frostbanger from 21.5 to 24 inches Apple Strudel stayed 18 inches Gelato from 18 to 24 inches (BIG!) Guava stayed 15 inches (maybe half an inch of growth) Pink Rozay from 15 to 21 inches (BIG!) White Truffle from 15 to 17.5 inches I'm surprised that Guava is still only 15 inches and is now the shortest of the lot, since it's supposed to be sativa dominant, but I suppose that's what you get with the newer pheno hunt seeds. It's also the frostiest though, as you can probably see from the photo. I noticed and plucked a cat whisker off of it and accidentally brushed one of the leaves with my finger in the process, and my finger smelled amazing! The Pink Rozay buds are basically vegetation with white hairs sticking out here and there, so the "buds" are kind of wispy, and I'm curious to see how they further develop.
