WaffleTerps Starting the Scarlet Flame project under the WaffleTerps name, growing Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast Version (Sweet Seeds). The goal is to bring out its deep red hues and sweet, fruity aroma, aiming for a clean, balanced and high-quality result. The grow is fully automated with the Spider Farmer Smart Grow System, controlling temperature, humidity, VPD and light intensity directly from the phone. Using Top Crop Complete Mix substrate in 15.2 L Smart Pots, with active EC, temperature and soil-moisture sensors. During the first week: • Temperature: 22–25 °C • Humidity: 75–85 % • PPFD: ~270 µmol/m²/s (light at 20 %) • Soil EC: 1.6–1.9 mS/cm • CO₂: 600–900 ppm All seedlings have germinated successfully 🌱 The bottle in the center contains an extra seed germinated “just in case”; if it thrives, I’ll let it grow right there as a small side test. Everything’s stable so far — strong roots forming, healthy cotyledons, and balanced environment. Next step: keeping humidity steady and preparing for the transition to vegetative growth.

WaffleTerps We’re still fine-tuning the environment this week humidity has been a bit low and the substrate temperature slightly high. Any tip for this?? Today we started Week 2 (early vegetative) with the first nutrient mix. Prepared 2.4 L of water (pH 6.0 / EC 1.0 / 21 °C) and added: Bio-Grow – 2.4 mL Root-Juice – 2.4 mL Bio-Heaven – 1.2 mL Atazyme – 2.4 mL Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra – 3.6 mL Watered 300 mL per plant (8 plants total) after filling pots with extra substrate for better root coverage. Lights were increased to PPFD ≈ 375 µmol/m²/s, humidity is sitting around 70 %, and everything’s looking healthy and strong for this stage. Thanks to everyone following the grow! Feel free to drop a comment or suggestion — always happy to learn and share the progress together. 🙏🙏

WaffleTerps This week, the garden truly came alive. Between November 3rd and 6th, I carried out the first LST session — the moment where control meets creativity. Each Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast Version was carefully bent and tied, shaping that signature Waffle Flame structure: low, wide, and perfectly balanced for future canopy expansion. Every move was precise — no broken tissue, no stress, just smooth curves and perfect angles. Within 24 hours, the tops had already turned back toward the light, showing strong recovery and new lateral shoots reaching upward. The structure is now open and symmetrical, ready for the next step before installing the SCROG net. Midweek, I performed a light, balanced watering, timed right when the pots felt lighter. EC was dialed at 1.0, pH around 6.1, ensuring clean nutrient uptake and proper oxygenation in the root zone. The plants responded immediately — vibrant color, strong leaf posture, and visible growth overnight. The environment stayed consistent throughout the week: 25 °C, 60–65 % RH, and ~375 PPFD (31 % power) from the Spider Farmer G8600, maintaining compact, dense growth. And for the first time, a sweet, rich cannabis aroma started filling the tent — that early tropical scent that promises something special later on. Everything is progressing smoothly and with precision. The structure, color, and overall health are exactly where they should be — the Waffle Flame project is unfolding beautifully.

WaffleTerps Great structural progress this week. I adjusted the first LST on all Tropicanna Poison plants and they responded perfectly — fast recovery, strong lateral growth and a very even canopy. Installed the SCROG net at ~26–30 cm to prepare for the next stage. I also switched to the automatic drip system (2 L/h emitters). The nutrient mix needed a few corrections, but the final feed landed at EC ~850 µS / pH ~5.8, giving each plant 700 ml. Soil dried quickly and the roots are clearly active. Environment stayed stable at 22–23°C, 65–70% RH and PPFD ~420 µmol/m²/s. All plants look healthy, compact and already releasing a nice sweet cannabis aroma.

WaffleTerps Key transition week into flowering. This week started with a serious issue: a strong drought, which left several pots completely dry and one plant especially affected. On Sunday I managed to revive them using only water, rehydrating the substrate properly without stressing the roots. On Monday I applied a full feeding to restore nutritional stability, and on Wednesday another 20 L irrigation, since the plants are consuming a lot at this stage. Today, on the official switch to 12/12, I carried out a deep irrigation of 23 L total, with EC and pH fully adjusted, leaving the substrate well saturated to support the beginning of the stretch. The plants have responded very well to the entire watering sequence, showing a much more uniform canopy and strong growth after the LST work. It’s clear that their demand for water and nutrients increases every day, so we’ll continue raising the irrigation volume progressively over the next weeks to keep them in an optimal rhythm. Now the most decisive phase of the cycle begins. Thanks for following the grow, excited to see how everything develops next week.

WaffleTerps This week the plants have officially entered the transition phase, starting their stretch and showing very even growth across the SCROG. The overall structure is exactly where I want it to be: clean lower stems with strong branching and good internodal spacing, setting the foundation for uniform future colas. The canopy is now closing in nicely, responding perfectly to the LST and SCROG work. Leaf color is healthy and vibrant, with no signs of stress, excess feeding, or light toxicity. They’re handling the current lighting level around 640–650 PPFD extremely well—right in the optimal range for this stage. Watering has been fine-tuned throughout the week, adjusting total volume and EC to match early flower needs without oversaturating the medium. Uptake has been consistent, and the slight differences in runoff helped identify how each pot is behaving. The goal now is to maintain a stable rhythm, keep the root zone active, and avoid moisture swings. Climate control was the biggest challenge due to heavy rain outside, but with extraction, fans, and dehumidifier adjustments, the environment stayed within acceptable ranges. As the flowering phase progresses, humidity will naturally become easier to control. Overall, a very positive week: ✔️ Clean structure with strong, symmetrical growth ✔️ SCROG net filling out evenly ✔️ Stretch underway with ideal vigor ✔️ Excellent response to training and environmental settings ✔️ Perfectly positioned moving into Week 2 of flower Next week, I’ll gradually increase light intensity and adjust feeding to support the first set of developing buds. The garden is in a great place. 🚀🌺

WaffleTerps Over the last weeks, growth has been very vigorous after the switch to 12/12. A progressive SCROG was applied to even out canopy height and improve light penetration, combined with some targeted LST to redistribute vigor and avoid apical dominance. During the stretch phase, PPFD was increased gradually and is now stabilized around 700 µmol/m²/s, which triggered a strong vegetative response with well-formed internodes and a dense, healthy leaf mass. Regarding irrigation, a previous dry period was corrected by increasing total watering volume and adding some manual watering to rehydrate deeper substrate zones and balance root development. EC is currently kept moderate and pH properly adjusted, allowing the plants to adapt to the higher metabolic demand without overfeeding. The plants now show a very solid structure, thick stems and a uniform canopy, fully prepared for the real flowering phase. From this point forward, the focus will be on maintaining environmental stability, managing VPD, and increasing light intensity progressively as transpiration allows.

WaffleTerps This week marks the true beginning of flowering, as all plants are now showing clearly visible pistils at the nodes and an active, uniform stretch. The transition to 12/12 has been fully assimilated, and the crop is responding with strong, healthy growth. The canopy is very well leveled, with an open structure thanks to the previous LST/SCROG work. Tops are correctly oriented toward the light, showing no signs of stress, and light penetration remains good even in the mid-canopy. From an environmental standpoint, conditions have remained very stable throughout the week: Average temperatures around 24–25 °C Relative humidity between 55–62% VPD consistently in the 1.1–1.3 kPa range This results in optimal transpiration and highly efficient nutrient uptake. Lighting has been progressively adjusted to reach 700–720 µmol/m²/s PPFD, which is ideal for early flowering, with stable ambient CO₂ levels (~700 ppm). No signs of light stress or photoinhibition have been observed. Regarding nutrition, irrigations have been maintained around EC ~1.1–1.2 mS and pH 6.3, combining BioGrow, BioBloom, enzymes, and stimulators. The plants display a healthy green color, with no deficiencies or excesses, and show a very positive response after each feeding. Overall, this has been a key and very well-executed week, laying a strong foundation for the upcoming bulking phase. The crop enters Flowering Week 2 with strength, balance, and excellent yield potential.
