WaffleTerps Starting the Scarlet Flame project under the WaffleTerps name, growing Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast Version (Sweet Seeds). The goal is to bring out its deep red hues and sweet, fruity aroma, aiming for a clean, balanced and high-quality result. The grow is fully automated with the Spider Farmer Smart Grow System, controlling temperature, humidity, VPD and light intensity directly from the phone. Using Top Crop Complete Mix substrate in 15.2 L Smart Pots, with active EC, temperature and soil-moisture sensors. During the first week: โ€ข Temperature: 22โ€“25 ยฐC โ€ข Humidity: 75โ€“85 % โ€ข PPFD: ~270 ยตmol/mยฒ/s (light at 20 %) โ€ข Soil EC: 1.6โ€“1.9 mS/cm โ€ข COโ‚‚: 600โ€“900 ppm All seedlings have germinated successfully ๐ŸŒฑ The bottle in the center contains an extra seed germinated โ€œjust in caseโ€; if it thrives, Iโ€™ll let it grow right there as a small side test. Everythingโ€™s stable so far โ€” strong roots forming, healthy cotyledons, and balanced environment. Next step: keeping humidity steady and preparing for the transition to vegetative growth.

WaffleTerps Weโ€™re still fine-tuning the environment this week humidity has been a bit low and the substrate temperature slightly high. Any tip for this?? Today we started Week 2 (early vegetative) with the first nutrient mix. Prepared 2.4 L of water (pH 6.0 / EC 1.0 / 21 ยฐC) and added: Bio-Grow โ€“ 2.4 mL Root-Juice โ€“ 2.4 mL Bio-Heaven โ€“ 1.2 mL Atazyme โ€“ 2.4 mL Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra โ€“ 3.6 mL Watered 300 mL per plant (8 plants total) after filling pots with extra substrate for better root coverage. Lights were increased to PPFD โ‰ˆ 375 ยตmol/mยฒ/s, humidity is sitting around 70 %, and everythingโ€™s looking healthy and strong for this stage. Thanks to everyone following the grow! Feel free to drop a comment or suggestion โ€” always happy to learn and share the progress together. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

WaffleTerps This week, the garden truly came alive. Between November 3rd and 6th, I carried out the first LST session โ€” the moment where control meets creativity. Each Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast Version was carefully bent and tied, shaping that signature Waffle Flame structure: low, wide, and perfectly balanced for future canopy expansion. Every move was precise โ€” no broken tissue, no stress, just smooth curves and perfect angles. Within 24 hours, the tops had already turned back toward the light, showing strong recovery and new lateral shoots reaching upward. The structure is now open and symmetrical, ready for the next step before installing the SCROG net. Midweek, I performed a light, balanced watering, timed right when the pots felt lighter. EC was dialed at 1.0, pH around 6.1, ensuring clean nutrient uptake and proper oxygenation in the root zone. The plants responded immediately โ€” vibrant color, strong leaf posture, and visible growth overnight. The environment stayed consistent throughout the week: 25 ยฐC, 60โ€“65 % RH, and ~375 PPFD (31 % power) from the Spider Farmer G8600, maintaining compact, dense growth. And for the first time, a sweet, rich cannabis aroma started filling the tent โ€” that early tropical scent that promises something special later on. Everything is progressing smoothly and with precision. The structure, color, and overall health are exactly where they should be โ€” the Waffle Flame project is unfolding beautifully.

WaffleTerps Great structural progress this week. I adjusted the first LST on all Tropicanna Poison plants and they responded perfectly โ€” fast recovery, strong lateral growth and a very even canopy. Installed the SCROG net at ~26โ€“30 cm to prepare for the next stage. I also switched to the automatic drip system (2 L/h emitters). The nutrient mix needed a few corrections, but the final feed landed at EC ~850 ยตS / pH ~5.8, giving each plant 700 ml. Soil dried quickly and the roots are clearly active. Environment stayed stable at 22โ€“23ยฐC, 65โ€“70% RH and PPFD ~420 ยตmol/mยฒ/s. All plants look healthy, compact and already releasing a nice sweet cannabis aroma.

WaffleTerps Key transition week into flowering. This week started with a serious issue: a strong drought, which left several pots completely dry and one plant especially affected. On Sunday I managed to revive them using only water, rehydrating the substrate properly without stressing the roots. On Monday I applied a full feeding to restore nutritional stability, and on Wednesday another 20 L irrigation, since the plants are consuming a lot at this stage. Today, on the official switch to 12/12, I carried out a deep irrigation of 23 L total, with EC and pH fully adjusted, leaving the substrate well saturated to support the beginning of the stretch. The plants have responded very well to the entire watering sequence, showing a much more uniform canopy and strong growth after the LST work. Itโ€™s clear that their demand for water and nutrients increases every day, so weโ€™ll continue raising the irrigation volume progressively over the next weeks to keep them in an optimal rhythm. Now the most decisive phase of the cycle begins. Thanks for following the grow, excited to see how everything develops next week.

WaffleTerps This week the plants have officially entered the transition phase, starting their stretch and showing very even growth across the SCROG. The overall structure is exactly where I want it to be: clean lower stems with strong branching and good internodal spacing, setting the foundation for uniform future colas. The canopy is now closing in nicely, responding perfectly to the LST and SCROG work. Leaf color is healthy and vibrant, with no signs of stress, excess feeding, or light toxicity. Theyโ€™re handling the current lighting level around 640โ€“650 PPFD extremely wellโ€”right in the optimal range for this stage. Watering has been fine-tuned throughout the week, adjusting total volume and EC to match early flower needs without oversaturating the medium. Uptake has been consistent, and the slight differences in runoff helped identify how each pot is behaving. The goal now is to maintain a stable rhythm, keep the root zone active, and avoid moisture swings. Climate control was the biggest challenge due to heavy rain outside, but with extraction, fans, and dehumidifier adjustments, the environment stayed within acceptable ranges. As the flowering phase progresses, humidity will naturally become easier to control. Overall, a very positive week: โœ”๏ธ Clean structure with strong, symmetrical growth โœ”๏ธ SCROG net filling out evenly โœ”๏ธ Stretch underway with ideal vigor โœ”๏ธ Excellent response to training and environmental settings โœ”๏ธ Perfectly positioned moving into Week 2 of flower Next week, Iโ€™ll gradually increase light intensity and adjust feeding to support the first set of developing buds. The garden is in a great place. ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒบ

WaffleTerps Over the last weeks, growth has been very vigorous after the switch to 12/12. A progressive SCROG was applied to even out canopy height and improve light penetration, combined with some targeted LST to redistribute vigor and avoid apical dominance. During the stretch phase, PPFD was increased gradually and is now stabilized around 700 ยตmol/mยฒ/s, which triggered a strong vegetative response with well-formed internodes and a dense, healthy leaf mass. Regarding irrigation, a previous dry period was corrected by increasing total watering volume and adding some manual watering to rehydrate deeper substrate zones and balance root development. EC is currently kept moderate and pH properly adjusted, allowing the plants to adapt to the higher metabolic demand without overfeeding. The plants now show a very solid structure, thick stems and a uniform canopy, fully prepared for the real flowering phase. From this point forward, the focus will be on maintaining environmental stability, managing VPD, and increasing light intensity progressively as transpiration allows.

WaffleTerps This week marks the true beginning of flowering, as all plants are now showing clearly visible pistils at the nodes and an active, uniform stretch. The transition to 12/12 has been fully assimilated, and the crop is responding with strong, healthy growth. The canopy is very well leveled, with an open structure thanks to the previous LST/SCROG work. Tops are correctly oriented toward the light, showing no signs of stress, and light penetration remains good even in the mid-canopy. From an environmental standpoint, conditions have remained very stable throughout the week: Average temperatures around 24โ€“25 ยฐC Relative humidity between 55โ€“62% VPD consistently in the 1.1โ€“1.3 kPa range This results in optimal transpiration and highly efficient nutrient uptake. Lighting has been progressively adjusted to reach 700โ€“720 ยตmol/mยฒ/s PPFD, which is ideal for early flowering, with stable ambient COโ‚‚ levels (~700 ppm). No signs of light stress or photoinhibition have been observed. Regarding nutrition, irrigations have been maintained around EC ~1.1โ€“1.2 mS and pH 6.3, combining BioGrow, BioBloom, enzymes, and stimulators. The plants display a healthy green color, with no deficiencies or excesses, and show a very positive response after each feeding. Overall, this has been a key and very well-executed week, laying a strong foundation for the upcoming bulking phase. The crop enters Flowering Week 2 with strength, balance, and excellent yield potential.

WaffleTerps Second real week of flowering completed with a very stable transition after the stretch phase. Plants have finished stretching and clear flower site formation is now visible across the canopy, with abundant white pistils and a very uniform structure. The environment has been kept well controlled throughout the week, running temperatures around 24โ€“25 ยฐC, relative humidity close to 50โ€“55%, and a stable VPD in the 1.4โ€“1.5 kPa range. This has allowed proper transpiration without any signs of stress. Root zone temperatures remained in the optimal range, around 20โ€“21 ยฐC, supporting healthy root activity. In terms of lighting, PPFD was progressively increased to around 850โ€“880 ยตmol/mยฒ/s, resulting in a DLI of approximately 38โ€“39 mol/mยฒ/day. This is a high but safe level for this stage, always supported by a balanced environment. Plant response has been very positive, with no signs of light stress. Nutrition has been gradually adjusted toward flowering, maintaining a good balance between continued growth and floral development. EC has been stable around 1.1โ€“1.2 mS/cm with a pH close to 6.3. Leaves remain healthy with good turgor and overall color, with slight tonal variations that are normal during this transition phase. Overall, a very solid week: vigorous plants, well-formed structure, and a clean, healthy start to flower production. Everything is set up perfectly to enter week 3, where the focus will be on consolidating early bud development while maintaining environmental and root-zone balance.

WaffleTerps We are now fully into earlyโ€“mid flowering and the crop is developing exactly as planned. Bud sites are well defined across the entire canopy, with uniform stacking and good internodal spacing thanks to proper SCROG management and selective lower clean-up. Environmental parameters have remained stable throughout the week: โ€ข Day temperature: ~24โ€“25 ยฐC โ€ข Relative humidity: ~50โ€“55 % โ€ข VPD: ~1.3โ€“1.4 kPa โ€ข PPFD: ~860โ€“890 ยตmol/mยฒ/s โ€ข DLI: ~38.8 mol/mยฒ/day This setup is allowing the plants to push photosynthesis efficiently without showing signs of light or heat stress. Tops are healthy, leaves remain responsive, and flower sites are actively building mass. Nutrient strategy is focused on supporting flower development while maintaining balance: โ€ข Stable EC around 1.1โ€“1.2 mS/cm โ€ข pH consistently adjusted to ~6.3 โ€ข Gradual reduction of Grow and controlled increase of Bloom inputs Some lower leaf yellowing is present, which is expected at this stage as the plants redirect energy and mobile nutrients toward flower production. Overall vigor, structure, and resin development indicate good root function and nutrient uptake. The coming phase will focus on maintaining this stability while carefully increasing demand to support flower bulking, always prioritizing quality, resin production, and final yield potential. Everything is progressing according to plan. ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒธ

WaffleTerps Flowering Week 6 โ€“ wrap-up and transition into Week 7 Weโ€™re closing flowering week 6 with a very solid overall state: stable plants, buds stacking consistently, and a clear increase in resin production. The main goal this week was to finish the active bulking phase, keep metabolism high without forcing, and set everything up properly for the transition into maturation. ๐ŸŒฑ Environment & lighting Throughout the week, conditions were kept very stable and within optimal ranges: โ€ข Day temperature: 24โ€“25 ยฐC โ€ข Night temperature: 18โ€“19 ยฐC โ€ข Relative humidity: 50โ€“55 % โ€ข Day VPD: ~1.30โ€“1.35 kPa โ€ข Night VPD: ~0.95โ€“1.05 kPa โ€ข Average PPFD: 900โ€“930 ยตmol/mยฒ/s โ€ข Ambient COโ‚‚: ~550โ€“600 ppm These parameters allowed efficient transpiration, proper nutrient uptake, and the beginning of color expression without slowing down bud development. โธป ๐Ÿ’ง Irrigation schedule (exact recipes) Base feeding (no PK) โ€“ 22 L โ€ข Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra: 30 ml โ€ข BioยทGrow: 6โ€“6.3 ml โ€ข BioยทBloom: 115โ€“133 ml โ€ข TopยทMax: 23 ml โ€ข BioยทHeaven: 21 ml โ€ข Bud Candy: 38 ml โ€ข Atazyme: 25 ml โ€ข EC: ~1.55โ€“1.60 mS โ€ข pH: 6.3 PK feeding (single, targeted application) โ€“ 22 L โ€ข Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra: 30 ml โ€ข BioยทGrow: 6 ml โ€ข BioยทBloom: 115 ml โ€ข TopยทMax: 23 ml โ€ข BioยทHeaven: 21 ml โ€ข Bud Candy: 38 ml โ€ข Atazyme: 25 ml โ€ข PK 35/60: 6 ml (pre-dissolved) โ€ข EC: ~1.64 mS โ€ข pH: 6.3 End-of-week adjusted feeding โ€“ 22 L โ€ข Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra: 25 ml โ€ข BioยทGrow: 5 ml โ€ข BioยทBloom: 105 ml โ€ข TopยทMax: 22 ml โ€ข BioยทHeaven: 20 ml โ€ข Bud Candy: 36 ml โ€ข Atazyme: 22 ml โ€ข EC: ~1.37 mS โ€ข pH: 6.2 PK was applied once, at the correct moment, as a metabolic trigger. It will not be repeated. โธป ๐Ÿ” Current plant status โ€ข Calyxes are still swelling, not fully closed yet. โ€ข Trichomes are mostly milky, with clear room for further maturation. โ€ข Slight yellowing on some leaf tips, normal at this stage due to high demand and controlled senescence. โ€ข No active deficiencies or nutrient lockouts observed. โธป โ–ถ๏ธ Next steps Weโ€™re now entering flowering week 7, maintaining stability and precision. Over the next few days, weโ€™ll start working with controlled drainage during irrigations to balance the substrate and progressively guide the crop toward the final stage, without aggressive flushing or rushed decisions. ๐Ÿ“ฒ Daily content on Instagram, with real-time updates, photos, and videos of the grow.

WaffleTerps ๐ŸŒธ End of Flowering Week 7 (D43โ€“D49) โ†’ Entering Week 8 (D50) | Project WF Weโ€™ve officially closed Flowering Week 7 (Day 43 to Day 49) and are now entering Week 8 (Day 50) โ€” the final and most critical stage where real quality and cleanliness are defined. This week was focused on root zone correction, EC reduction and preparing the plants for a clean and controlled finish, without forcing maturity or stressing the crop. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Environmental Parameters (Week 7 avg) โ€ข Day temperature: 22โ€“23.5 ยฐC โ€ข Night temperature: 18โ€“19 ยฐC โ€ข Relative Humidity: 48โ€“52 % โ€ข VPD: 1.30โ€“1.45 kPa โ€ข PPFD: ~830โ€“850 ยตmol/mยฒ/s โ€ข COโ‚‚: Ambient (~550โ€“630 ppm) Stable conditions all week to keep metabolism active while avoiding unnecessary stress during late flowering. ๐Ÿ’ง Irrigation & Feeding โ€“ Week 7 (Detailed) ๐Ÿ“… 25/01 โ€“ Day 46 Total volume: 30 L (hand watered, stopping when plants drained) Recipe: โ€ข Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra โ†’ 15 ml โ€ข BioยทGrow โ†’ 3 ml โ€ข BioยทBloom โ†’ 120 ml โ€ข TopยทMax โ†’ 24 ml โ€ข BioยทHeaven โ†’ 24 ml โ€ข Bud Candy โ†’ 36 ml โ€ข Atazyme โ†’ 30 ml Input values: โ€ข EC: ~0.98 mS โ€ข pH: 6.2 This irrigation initiated nutrient reduction and confirmed uneven salt accumulation between pots. ๐Ÿ“… 29/01 โ€“ Day 49 Total volume: 50 L (high-volume strategic irrigation) Recipe: โ€ข BioยทBloom โ†’ 200 ml (4 ml/L) โ€ข TopยทMax โ†’ 50 ml (1 ml/L) โ€ข BioยทHeaven โ†’ 50 ml (1 ml/L) โ€ข Bud Candy โ†’ 50 ml (1 ml/L) โ€ข Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra โ†’ 15 ml (0.3 ml/L) โ€ข Atazyme โ†’ 40 ml (0.8 ml/L) Input values: โ€ข EC: ~0.78 mS โ€ข pH: 6.2 Drain EC readings (by pot): โ€ข Range: 2.1 โ€“ 5.6 mS โ€ข Confirmed salt accumulation now actively being released. This irrigation was a pre-cleaning step, not a final flush, keeping roots active while opening the substrate. ๐Ÿ“Š Week 7 Irrigation Summary โ€ข Total water applied: ~80 L โ€ข Average: ~11.4 L / 24h (including strategic high-volume irrigation) ๐ŸŒฟ Plant Status โ€“ End of Week 7 โ€ข Controlled senescence has started naturally. โ€ข Strong anthocyanin expression (genetics + environment). โ€ข Buds still finishing density, not rushed. โ€ข Trichomes shifting from clear โ†’ cloudy, amber still minimal. โ€ข No signs of acute stress, lockout or stalled metabolism. ๐ŸŽฏ Week 8 Objectives (From Day 50) Week 8 is about precision, not force. โ€ข Final nutrient closure initiated. โ€ข Progressive root zone cleaning strategy: โ€ข Pre-flush irrigation โ€ข Single controlled Final Flush โ€ข Water-only irrigation โ€ข Dry-back before harvest โ€ข Maintain stable PPFD and VPD to preserve terpenes and resin quality. โ€ข Focus shifts from yield to clean finish, flavor and combustion quality. This is the phase where premium crops are truly defined. More final-stage data, close-ups and detailed content coming soon on Instagram. Open to collaborations and data-driven partnerships with brands focused on precision growing and premium results. ๐Ÿ“ธ @waffleterps

WaffleTerps This week was fully focused on correcting salt buildup and preparing a clean, controlled finish, with quality and terpene preservation as the main priorities. ๐Ÿ”น Key irrigations โ€“ Final Flush was applied with real 30โ€“40% runoff, successfully reducing EC levels in the root zone. โ€“ Follow-up irrigation with plain water only (pH 6.2) confirmed a consistent EC drop across all pots. โ€“ Plants are now in controlled senescence, with no signs of active nutrient lockout. ๐Ÿ”น Runoff data Runoff EC is now within safe ranges (โ‰ˆ1.5โ€“3.0 mS depending on plant), confirming the flush worked and roots are in end-of-cycle mode rather than aggressive uptake. ๐Ÿ”น Environment & light โ€“ PPFD adjusted (~700โ€“780 ยตmol/mยฒ/s) โ€“ Stable temperatures โ€“ Humidity tightly controlled to protect dense colas Everything dialed in to preserve resin and avoid unnecessary stress. ๐Ÿ”น Plant status Flowers are fully formed, trichomes mostly cloudy with early amber showing, final structure locked in. At this stage weโ€™re no longer chasing bulk, but ripeness and internal clean-up. ๐Ÿ“Œ Plan Final days with minimal intervention, observing real pot weight and plant response. Harvest window is very close and right on target. โžก๏ธ Next post will be harvest day and the start of drying. Thanks to everyone following the project and sharing feedback โ€” every cycle is a step forward. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ช

WaffleTerps A small recap of what this grow was all about ๐ŸŒฑ Long hours, constant adjustments, a few mistakes, and a lot of learning. Every detail matters, and this cycle taught us more than what you see in the pictures. I chopped them shortly after finishing the last week I uploaded. Timing felt right, and I preferred to close the cycle at that point. Now theyโ€™re hanging and drying properly โ€” once the dry is done, Iโ€™ll upload the final results and full outcome. Big thanks to everyone who supported, commented, and followed the entire journey from start to finish. The feedback and energy here really push me to keep improving. Every grow is a step forward. We refine, we analyze, we come back stronger. See you in the next update. Waffleterps

Week 17. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

The cultivation looks well executed. The flowers are compact, with a good resin coverage and an overall healthy appearance. Itโ€™s clear that irrigation and environmental control were handled carefully, as there are no obvious signs of major stress. This genetic performs very well when treated with precision, but it is not particularly tolerant to high EC levelsโ€”if you push the feeding too hard, it reacts quickly. Keeping nutrients in a moderate range is key for maximizing color expression, aroma, and overall quality without compromising plant health. When smoked, the flavor comes through clean and expressive, especially if the drying and curing were done properly. The effect builds up progressively, starting clearly within a few minutes and developing into a balanced, steady experience without feeling overwhelming. In terms of extractions, due to its resin type and structure, it tends to perform better in dry sift or ice (bubble hash), where it preserves flavor and cleanliness well. For direct flower rosin, itโ€™s generally less ideal compared to more oily, high-return cultivars. However, it can still perform nicely if pressing from well-selected hash rather than from flower.

WaffleTerps This grow has been something truly special for me because it was my first one. Beyond the numbers or the final weight, it was a constant learning experience โ€” mistakes, adjustments, moments of doubt, and a lot of satisfaction watching the plants develop day by day. Seeing them finish healthy, resinous, and looking the way they did is a feeling thatโ€™s hard to describe. I genuinely want to thank everyone who supported, advised, and followed the process. Every message, every comment, and every piece of constructive feedback meant a lot and helped more than you probably realize. This is just the beginning. In the next runs, weโ€™re bringing things better executed, more refined, and more detailed in every aspect. More control, more experience, and higher quality. We grow step by step โ€” and weโ€™re only getting started.

Hi, why is the flowering period so long? I'm just growing it for the first time and I also have a Tropicana. I thought it would harvest in the 7th week.

@Maindrugger, Don't count the two weeks of stretching, my friend. I was checking the trichomes, and that's what took me longer to achieve the quality I wanted.๐Ÿ’š

Your Scarlet Flame Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast Version from Sweet Seeds is looking absolutely stunning in week 11! Full bulking mode is exciting - those buds are really packing on weight. Increasing feeding to EC 1.57 / pH 6.3 with 22L irrigation volume shows great attention to detail. The plant structure looks perfect. Awesome work with this Sweet Seeds strain!
