Germination

RevvshiWoW The seed was germinated as follows: I left it in water for one full day, then another day in a moist paper towel. After that, it went straight into its hole in the soil — and by the third day I already counted Day 1. So today, November 16th, is officially Day 1. Two of the plants will be grown in living soil with automatic wick watering. The third plant will go into the soil from my last grow — meaning this substrate is now being used for the third time. That plant will be hand-watered with BioBizz nutrients, and it’s basically the experiment of this run: How well can a plant do in soil that’s been reused three times? I’m planning to switch to 12/12 around New Year’s

RevvshiWoW The plants are growing. They don’t look super happy yet, but they are making progress. The new growth is coming in slowly but steadily. I’m keeping an eye on them and giving them time to recover and settle. As long as they keep pushing new leaves, I’m not worried

RevvshiWoW I topped the faster-growing plant and removed the two lowest branches, leaving only the top two main shoots. On the smaller plant on the right, I only removed the two lowest branches for now. I’ll most likely top her at the end of next week so she will also end up with just two main shoots. Both plants seem to have adapted well to the living soil and are responding positively so far

RevvshiWoW Both plants have recovered very well after the topping and the light defoliation, with each plant being topped once. They are now clearly picking up speed and have started to grow vigorously again. It really looks like the critical phase they were in is over, whatever the issue was at the time. From this point on, the focus for the remaining days of the year is to encourage as many new shoots and side branches as possible. If everything continues like this, we’re on a very good path to flip them into flowering around New Year’s.

RevvshiWoW This week I found out that I can finally take part in an important appointment that will last about five weeks. However, there is still a waiting period until I receive the official confirmation, which could take up to seven weeks. Because of this uncertainty, I decided not to switch to flower yet and keep the plants in veg for now. That’s also why I pruned them back quite hard — I expect the wait to be around three more weeks

RevvshiWoW Today I did another radical cut, mainly because im away again for five days and the plants had overgrown quite heavily. There was moisture everywhere on the leaves from transpiration, even with a fan running. The roots have completely taken over the pots and are already growing out of them. You can clearly see on the pots where the roots are, and even where water is running along those paths.

RevvshiWoW Another week has passed, and normally I’d say “unfortunately” — but in this case, it really is unfortunately, because the plants have grown extremely fast this week. Because of that, I decided to remove one side branch from each main stem again. I’ve been running the light at 50%, around 150 watts, and I assume that’s why the internodes stayed very short. Space is starting to become an issue, especially since I’ll probably stay in the vegetative phase for another one or two weeks. For now, I’ll just let everything grow and most likely do a proper cleanup and remove everything in the lower area next week. I’m really hoping I’ll get my approval soon so I can start my five-week course and finally switch to flower. Otherwise, this tent is going to turn into a complete jungle 😅 The main stem is getting seriously thick, and the plant clearly wants to keep growing hard. I really hope I can flip to flower soon, but apart from that, everything looks great. New shoots are appearing faster and faster, and the smell is already amazing — a strong, proper weed smell. If it already smells this good now, I’m really looking forward to the final product.

RevvshiWoW Week ten has passed, and at the beginning of the week I removed all the leaves again to slow down growth. I continue to remove any new side shoots as they appear. Unfortunately, I still haven’t received confirmation for my course, so the plant will remain in the vegetative phase for now. If it grows about 20 cm taller, I will top it once more, although I hope I can initiate flowering before that. Overall, a very solid foundation has formed, with a strong main stem that should lead to high-quality buds.

RevvshiWoW I deliberately didn’t touch the plant at all this week to give it time to fully recover. I’ve now switched to flowering, and last night was the final one under the vegetative light cycle. From this point on, it’s officially in the flowering phase. I’ll install the net toward the end of the three-week stretch period. Then I’ll carefully tuck and spread the branches into the net.

RevvshiWoW Starting today, I’m uploading the photos one day earlier because I’ll be away again for a few days. I hope my first SCROG turns out well. I’m not sure how much stretch to expect in the coming week, but it has already grown about 10 cm, which concerns me. That’s why I set up the SCROG net now. It looks a bit strange, but still better than before. By the way, I measured the pH of the water I’ve been using for the past three months—it’s at 7.5. However, the soil looks like it can handle it.

RevvshiWoW Second week of flowering is done, and she’s looking pretty good. She’s stretched nicely as well. Next time, I’ll probably set up the SCROG net during the last week of veg. But yeah, it worked out, and I’m hoping for a bit more growth in the coming week.

RevvshiWoW Week four is officially finished. I did a heavy defoliation on day 28 and removed a lot of leaves. Many of them had different colors — yellow, grey, and a few other shades — so it definitely felt like the right moment to clean things up. What makes me really happy is what I’m seeing now at the start of week five. The leaves are already showing slight purple tones, which looks amazing. On top of that, the plant smells incredibly sweet right now. I’m really hoping that this sweet aroma will carry over into the final flavor later on. Excited to see how she develops over the next weeks.

RevvshiWoW I finally got my appointment, which means I have to harvest in about two weeks at the latest. But that’s totally fine since I’ve already hit week 6. I’ve already taken off a few side branches to test something for myself: whether harvesting earlier really gives a more head-high effect, and harvesting later leads to a more sedating effect. I just want to see how true that actually is. Next week, I’ll harvest a few more buds, and after that I’ll probably go for the full harvest – so around the end of week 8. This time, I’m not going to check trichomes. For me, what matters most is that the buds look good and smell great. Right now, the plant drinks about 20 liters per week. I refill the tank once, and that’s more than enough. The light is running at 300W with about 25 cm distance.

RevvshiWoW Since I’m going to harvest the plant this Sunday, I can already give a small summary of what I’ve noticed and what I did wrong again. First of all, I added it to the scrog net a week too late, which probably slowed down the upward growth. But in the end, it still looks pretty good for a single plant. What I’ll definitely change next time is using a cover crop—something like rice clover. The watering just wasn’t effective enough. It felt like the soil was only properly hydrated to about 60% of the pot. Even with the coco mat on top, the first five centimeters were completely dry. That’s something the cover crop should fix next run. By the way, the next strain will definitely be Pineapple Express For my reservoir, I’m thinking about adding an air pump next time. At the same time, I’m considering switching to a Blumat system next year. Nothing is set in stone yet, but these are my first takeaways so far. Another thing I’ve noticed is that the plant seems to be foxtailing again. I’m seeing a lot of new green growth with fresh white pistils, even though it’s in its final week. Still, the colors look great—more like a deep black than purple. Resin production is in full swing, the smell is very sweet, and I’m really looking forward to the final product.

RevvshiWoW Unfortunately, I don't have all photos from this grow anymore because my phone broke and I switched to a new device As a final note, I can say that I wasn't paying close enough attention. One of the side branches was lying directly on the soil surface, and I simply didn't notice it. When I harvested, I saw that about half of the stem on that branch had already turned yellow and soft. The damage had also spread along the branch toward the main stem for roughly 15 cm (about 6 inches). Looking back, that explains why the buds didn't really put on much weight toward the end of flowering. I had already been wondering about that, but now it makes sense. Another thing I noticed at harvest was that the top third of the soil was completely dry. Unfortunately, I only realized this at the very end. Most of the roots appeared to be in the lower two-thirds of the pot, and the upper layer wasn't being used much anymore. Maybe the roots had become so dense that the pot wasn't absorbing water evenly, or perhaps I should have left the mulch cover on the soil. I definitely need to pay more attention in the future. That mistake was entirely on me. Despite that, I was very happy with the quality of the buds. The aroma was good, and overall I'd still recommend this strain. It had a very sweet smell that I really enjoyed.
