Apothecarian Sat Nov 15 - I germinated the seeds. I put the seeds into water with ChitoSal and Microbial Mass Pro.
Day 1 - 1 litre of water + 2.50ml of Chitosal + 0.25ml of Microbial Mass Pro
- Set up the propagator, on a heat mat set to 26°C, in the grow tent with the lights off, heat set to 24°C and
humidity at 60%. Lights stay off until I put the taproots into the grow plugs
- Poured the water in to a bowl with seeds, let sit for 35 min as per Instructions on Chitosal
- Put seeds into papertowel and into an open ziploc bag, then poured the water containing Chitosal &
Microbial Mass Pro onto the papertowel, then poured the rest of the water into a spray bottle to keep the
papertowel moist
Sun Nov 16 - I took a look at the seeds. It's been about 24 hours. There doesn't appear to be any difference as of yet.
Day 2 Previous grows, the seeds had a tap root showing or were splitting open to reveal the tap root
- I'm always nervous when germinating. I really like to get 100% of the seeds to germinate.
- I'm keeping the papertowel moist with the spray bottle containing ChitoSal & Microbial Mass Pro.
Mon Nov 17 - 1 of the seeds has a tap root that is ¼ inch long. Another one is showing a decent start and the other 2
Day 3 look no different
- I will plant the one tap root seed that's ¼ inch into a grow plug and I'll leave the other 2 until tomorrow
- I took the grow plug and used a 1/4 inch drill bit to drill out the hole a bit better. I find the pre-drilled
holes in the plugs are too small to safely put the tap roots in without risking breakage
- After putting the seed with the tap root pointing down, I took a small piece of the grow plug and fill in
hole so that light doesn't directly hit the seed. This causes the seed to grow better in search of light.
- I dumped out the spray bottle and filled it with water only containing Microbial Mass Pro. As per the
ChitoSal instructions, it shouldn't be used until 1 week prior to flowering.
- I always forget to scuff the seeds first, but in the end, the seeds always germinate for me so I'm not sure
it's necessary. I maybe should scuff the end of the seed that's opposite the hinge.
- I hate it when one tap root is way ahead of the others. When sitting on the papertowel, they need
darkness, but once they are in their grow plugs, they need light… I’m always torn about what to do.
Tomorrow, I will plant the other seeds into their grow plugs no matter what as the one in the grow plug
needs to start getting light
- My method of using the CitoSal and Microbial Mass Pro has been giving me 100% success. Why change it?
Tue Nov 18 - The other seed with the tap root showing now has a 1 inch tap root, so it's ready for the grow plug
Day 4 - I re-soaked the other 2 seeds to for about 15 min and put them back on the papertowel. I'll see if they
ever open. I'm disappointed that 2 seeds, 50% of the seeds did not open up.
- I sprayed the plugs to re-moisten them.
- I now have the light on
Wed Nov 19 - I've decided to germinate 2 more seeds tonight and see if I can get them to germinate as I was always planning
Day 5 on having 3 plants in soil and 1 in the DWC bucket, but right now I just have 2 germinated seeds
- The seedlings are starting to emerge from the grow plugs. I pulled off the seed shells
- One of the seedlings was growing upside-down. It was the first one I planted on day 3. I felt that when I dropped
the tap root into the grow plug hole that it flipped upside-down. So I used tweezers and righted it up.
- I sprayed the seedlings and plugs to re-moisten them.
- I soaked the 2 new seeds in the same solution as day 1 and waited 35min and them put them on the papertowel
- I hope they germinate. I don't like that they'll be 1 week behind, but whatever!
Thu Nov 20 - The first 2 planted seedlings are now emerged from the grow plugs. Roots are already protruding out from the grow
Day 6 plugs of one of them. It's all due to the Microbial Mass Pro. Ever since I started using it, the roots grow faster while it's
a seedling, making it ready sooner for repotting.
- the 2 news seeds I germinated yesterday as unchanged so far… so hopefully, the tap root will pop out tomorrow.
Fri Nov 21 - The other seedling in the grow plug now has a root protruding from the grow plug. The both are looking good
Day 7 - I have now lowered the light down to 24 inches abover the seedling as I forgot to do that
- I noticed this morning before I headed out to work that the 2 seeds I germinated now have a tap root that has sprouted
but when I got back home in the early evening, the tap root was completely unchanged, I was expecting it to be out much
further as the other 2 seeds were like that. I will put them in their grow plugs tomorrow irregardless if the tap root has
come out any further or not.
- I am undecided if it's good or bad to have the light on while the seeds are still on the papertowel. I have always
kept the light off, but when I already have some seeds in their grow plugs, I want the lights on… what to do!?!
- Later I the evening, I noticed that one of the tap roots is further out now, the other hasn't changed.
- Lights are 24 inches above plants, lowered humidity to 60% and LED lights set to level 3.
Sat Nov 22 - I planted the 2 seeds into grow plugs.
Day 8 - I will get 2 grow bags ready for the first 2 seedlings that are further along. I need to buy a power bar for
the air pump.
- The 2 seeds look to have taken well to the grow plugs. The other 2 that are further along will probably go into the
grow bags tomorrow or one to the grow bag and the other to the DWC bucket
Sun Nov 23 - I decided to plant the 2 further along seedlings into their grow bags tomorrow instead. The other 2 later seedlings
Day 9 have a few more days to go before they go into their grow bags.
- The seeds took longer to germinate and be ready for planting than the last few grows. It could be either the seeds,
or it could be that the Chitosal and Microbial Mass bottles are over a year old as I stopped growing cannabis for a
year to deal with health issues.
- I will consider tomorrow the be the start of the seedling phase for the 1st 2 plants

Apothecarian Mon Nov 24 - I planted one seedling into the grow bag and the other into the DWC bucket. The other 2 seedlings will need a couple
Day 10 more days in the propagator. Then they will go into their grow bags
- I sprinkled mycorrhizal fungi into the hole in the soil where the grow plug is going. This ensures no transplant
shock
- I watered the plant with Microbial Mass Pro, Rapid Start and Diamond Nectar.
- This is where the grow diaries will separate as I will document the DWC bucket plant separately.
- The seedlings always looks so silly being so small in a grow bag
- It's looking good so far.
Tue Nov 25 - The seedling is looking fine…there's always a slight transplant shock, but the mycorrhizal fungi definitely shortens
Day 11 the shock to just a day or two. I will check the soil to see if it needs to be churned as seedling phase, the fans are not
on too strong and the soil sometimes dries too slowly, but churning it helps it dry at a normal speed
- The other 2 seedlings still in the propagator are almost ready to be put into grow bags. Maybe tomorrow for one of them
and maybe a day or 2 later for the other. I really hate having such a staggered grow, but c'est la vie!
Wed Nov 26 - I planted both seedlings into the grow bags. The other will probably be ready tomorrow or the day
Day 12 - I watered the 2 newly planted seedlings with Microbial Mass Pro, Rapid Start and Diamond Nectar.
- I watered the first planted seedling with Rapid Start and Diamond Nectar as Microbial Mass Pro is only
every other week
- One of the seedlings I planted today was a bit smaller than I'd like to plant, but I couldn't keep it in the
propagator any longer. It'll just need to survive. I will give it all the care and attention I can.
- The soil is very dry so I'll have to spray the top of the soil daily. Normally I have a problem with the soil not
drying soon enough, but this time the soil is drying out way too fast.
Thu Nov 27 - The seedlings are looking good. Already looking like they are slightly bigger than the day before… zero transplant
Day 13 shock, thanks to mycorrihaz fungi
- Even the smallest seedling is looking bigger
- Soil was a little wet, but just barely, which is good. The air circulation is good and the plants are drinking
- I churned the soil, but just a tiny bit was all that was necessary
Fri Nov 28 - I watered the 3 seedlings with Rapid Start and Diamond Nectar.
Day 14 - The soil was pretty dry and there's lots of peat moss in this mixture.
- They are looking bigger every day. Even the smallest seedling is pretty much the same size as the other 2 now
Sat Nov 29 - I churned the soil
Day 15 - Plants are looking small but mighty
