jellyjelly Growing very sideways - have backups just in case!
These seeds come from Hi and are being grown in a very arid state -- prioritizing humidity!

jellyjelly Came back from being away to find 2 absolute STRETCHERS and tons of thriving plants! Stems varying in thickness but over plants seem happy and growing well.. these Hawaii strains seem incredibly stretchy
Seeing some small roots come out the cup drip holes - these will likely find a better pot soon and a taller enclosure

jellyjelly Starting week 4 of veg with the environment finally stable. The upgraded humidifier locked in humidity and the plants are responding accordingly with relaxed, slightly upward leaves. The enclosure has been improved; it’s now taller and more reflective, improving light spread across the canopy.
All plants were transplanted into 1 gallon pots and showed no slowing or stress. The main stems are thickening with tight internode spacing. The apical meristem is pushing fresh growth, fan leaves are fully formed, and axillary shoots are developing at each node - 5th node formed on all plants.
Overall, healthy structure and steady growth moving into week 4 given the growing environment improvements.

jellyjelly Nothing like coming back from a few days away and seeing the plants hold their vigor. All the babies are getting thicker stems and maintaining green growth, with initial leaves wilting and dying as expected.
With the added humidity, I’ve been having some trouble dialing in watering. Plants showing slight droopiness, tons of humidity present - instinct tells me underwatering, yet gnats showed up in 1 of the pots. I’ll continue watering daily minimally and see how plants respond.
Also, the two stretchers were topped to hopefully have these at the same canopy height as everybody else. Definitely seeing variations between strains and phenos, I hope the majority are female 🤞

jellyjelly Plants are thriving again and growing vigorously!!! 🌱 I realized watering daily with such small amounts was creating top moisture, perfect for gnats and not allowing my roots to get oxygen. Watering every other day being sure to give a FULL watering allowed me to reach this ideal state (duh)!
The two girls that were topped are responding tremendously 😅 for the most part it didn’t stunt the vertical height as much as I hoped.
I’m eager to throw these in the 4x4 in about a week or two as I’m pushing the limits of this makeshift tent (storage rack covered in insulated reflective material with sub par lighting) - tent height will be readjusted soon.

jellyjelly Another week down of vigorous green growth.. maybe a little too much LOL
One more plant was topped again to try to match the overall canopy height of all plants.
I think I’ve pushed the limits of this custom enclosure and will need to make 2 of these rack tents to continue to hold these until the main tent is freed up and fix my current overcrowding issue which is contributing to uneven growth and stems due to unintentional shading of fan leaves.
I wish growth would slow down 😭😅 eager to throw this into the 4x4 and into some 5Gal pots

jellyjelly Another amazing week of growth - they are all quite thirsty and could definitely use some more soil and space.
The grow rack was split into two to maximize space - things are getting out of hand quickly LOL
Seeing some variations in each pheno, along with some I think some plants being male (??)
Eager for the upcoming transplant and placing them in a dedicated grow tent

jellyjelly I hope I never need to Veg this long again without topping LOL some had to be removed from the make shift tent and placed else where due to their height
This last week I transplanted them (except 2) into their final homes in a 3 gallon pot (smaller end since I’m trying to squeeze in a 4x4 for flowering). No health concerns at this moment!
Hopefully in the next update, these plants are in a proper tent!
Observations:
Hawaiian Gift x Hindu Kush x Oaxaca is hugely apical dominant - I wonder if it’s genetic

jellyjelly Finally the Hawaiian plants are placed in a proper grow tent with stronger lights. I also in this week switched to flowering (yesterday)
A majority of these I was able to confirm if female, but I suspect some males made it into the tent - I’ll closely be keeping an eye out for sex expressions
In hindsight, I regret not topping some of these plants as it appears they will really stretch. Lesson learned!
Additionally, the plants underwent a light pruning and lollipoping in preperation for strecth + flower - I will revisit these techniques once the plants acclimate to the environments and light cycle

jellyjelly WELL - after 1 week in flowering, the plants sexes were more clear..
I knew going into this that these seeds weren’t feminized. Glad I popped a couple of each strain.
Unfortunately, in total - 4 plants were disposed of resulting in only one strain of each - not bad!!
Current away for a week long trip - hoping my home-made wick type auto watering pot system works well - beyond this, no other health concerns! Woo!

jellyjelly Let’s goooo - came back from the trip and found my little autopot system worked quite well!! More on that later..
PURPLE HAZE x MALAWI x PELEE’S SWORD:
Untopped so she’s tall - has a slight droop due to overwatering in watering sessions - otherwise healthy
HAWAIIAN GIFT x HINDU KUSH x OAXACA:
Untopped so she’s tall - also has very thick stem with 0 health concerns
CRYSTAL LIGHT x PELEE'S SWORD
Topped - lovely growth on this one - can tell yield will be on the lower side but I’m in love with the wide leaves - no real health concerns!
Anyway, want a booty autogrow pot solution? Take “Car wash bucket grit guard” and drill some holes in it. Feed it cotton wick. Soak the wick before placing the plant on top - ensure the ends of the wick are submerged in water (like a drip tray) before placing a fabric pot on top.
Ta dah!!!

jellyjelly Sick week I guess - the plants are sick and so am I
All my Hawaiian girls seems to be affected by ??oxygen imbalance in roots??
I can’t seem to pinpoint the stressor for these poor plants - over feeding? Too much water?
Shooting for a dry back to once again have moisture dialed in properly
Confusing since they’re only in 3Gal fabric pots. Maybe that’s the issue..
On the bright side, I dug up some red wriggler worms and added about 5 per pot, idk, seemed right..
--
Crystal Light x Pelee's Sword
Fun to see the purple come out on this plant already, along with trichomes, this looks promising and is the healthiest of the three
Two other untopped girls
These two are sky scrapers at about 45” tall.. these plants are seemingly most affected by the same stressor, likely moisture imbalance in the root zone. No real trichomes visible yet, leafy airy bud incoming seemingly

jellyjelly Love to see it baby!!
Came back from vacay and found these girls beginning to get even MORE swollen!
—
Crystal Light x Pelee's Sword (healthy)
OKAY GIRL - she’s starting to stack trichomes and surprisingly almost all fan leaves already yellowing? The purple has slowed down a bit but the resin production is surprising me!
Leaf rub gives a light floral gassy? Smells nice and fresh.
Two other untopped girls (unhealthier)
Looks like the dry back did these girls good. Both of these have very fun airy yet dense like golf ball like nugs - tons of pistil/stigma on these with lower trichome production, likely a result of the soil/oxygen stressed. Waiting along a bit more to check up on leaf rubs
Stoked to finish this run.

jellyjelly What’s up! Another slower week as we finish out this grow and try to get these girls back to healthy again - being extra mindful of not overwatering! Got a detailed week for the Hawaii girls!
(The Hawaiian Gift x Hindu Kush) x Oaxacan
So unhealthy, feel so bad for this girl. Leaves are banana yellow and barely any trichomes forming.
Leaf rubs: an amazing over riped mandarin or sweet citrusy smell
(Purple Haze x Malawi) x Pele's Sword
I’d say she’s medium healthy - wishing I topped this one - I noticed it has very large calyxes
Leaf rub: Today she’s smelling amazing - pine and citrus smell forward + gentler hints of funky flower (honey-suckle like).. in all honest this smelled like warm dumpster for the longest LOL she smells great now
Crystal Light x Pelee's Sword
Finishing great , I think due to it being topped, it survived some how some earlier issues its sisters went through. Despite some fan leaves clawed downward, the unaffected ones are praying upward!
Leaf rub is fun: loud gas forward with hints of floral resembling soap or some berry, very nice

She’s happy and finishing up strong - I’m seeing some amber trichomes pop up and fan leaves are fading on track - stoked for this one
(Purple Haze x Malawi) x Pele's Sword
Seems like she’s bouncing back from being stressed out. Stigmas beginning to brown, trichomes continue to form - we’re on track
Hawaiian Gift X Hindu Kush X Oaxaca
Poor girl, still so unhealthy! Her leaves are all starting to yellow and dry. I definitely think she was stunted but on the bright side we have trichomes and stigmas browning (holy bushy) and calyxes swelling further (sort of late I might add)

Finishing up right on time with my other grow, Gelonade - no complaints and is finishing up strong
(Purple Haze x Malawi) x Pele's Sword AND Hawaiian Gift X Hindu Kush X Oaxaca
Finally we’re starting to see these two girls mature, stigmas browning more each week and ever so slightly a little more trichomes. I’m thinking these two will take a little longer to finish up
The leaves crumbling already is shocking & is likely due to the variable introduced with growing in such a tiny pot

jellyjelly Mi tink dis di last week fi flowerin. Di trichome is milky.
I’ll reevaluate in a week or so!!
I appreciate you for stopping by and hope you admired some niche/obscure/og Hawaiian strains!
The geneticist shared with me some seeds that are apparently better and louder - definetly will be checking those out in a future grow.
Happy growing!
Very in your face loud gassy strain. Super sticky, dank and loud!

jellyjelly Super tropical vibes in this bunch!!
Each one has such a unique smell and flower structure. I really neglected the hell our most of these plants given the tiny 3 gallon container and arid conditions - however these plants were resilient.
Crystal Light x Pelee Sword stands out as gassy pungent strain covered in trichomes.
(Purple Haze x Malawi) x pelee sword was also very note worthy. Very citrusy/floral notes, airy bud structure but surprisingly very resinous.
Super stoked and thanks again DaDankSeed bank for the genetics and pointers!
The least healthiest mf the girl - interesting smells on this one like tangerine with a bit of fruity sweet warm dumpster

Floral citrusy - light yielding but sticky with a noteworthy smell - it’s clear this is a lovely purple sativa.

Full strains listed below with breeder description
—
(Purple Haze x Malawi) x Pele's Sword
This mother was a true sativa with purple hues, I am excited to see it thrive in other people's gardens. The Pele will add that frost and sativa buzz to her and also limit the amount of stretch is has so indoors is a great option for sativa lovers that want faster flowering plants compared to landrace sativas. Nice air to density ratio for a sativa with heady effects.
—
(The Hawaiian Gift x Hindu Kush) x Oaxacan
The Hawaiian Gift is a 40 year old indica that is rumored to be Afghan x Hindu. I wanted to make a Hindu bx to unlock some recessive traits. the resulting strain is potent enough to feel a smooth buzz and chill enough where you most likely won't be tripping out in the peak of the high... which is common in today's world of insanely high thc strains. The Hindu male leveled the potency of The Gift which was exactly the plan. This strain is great for the chillers and for people for a classic high.
—
-Crystal Light x Pelee's Sword
Pele's Sword is an Oahu Thai Hybrid grown on the Island of Oahu since the 70's. Gooeybreeder crossed his Zinn male to have it in seed form. Shows classic Thai traits with uplifting and buzzy head/body highs. MALE Pele's Sword pollination project.

Aloha brotha!!!! Looking super fire. Thank you for giving these seeds a spot in your garden! It’s hard to grow sativas indoor since they stretch so much in flower, challenging but worth the wait… if I had anything to add I would say wait till the soil dries out a bit before watering deeply, this will accelerate its growth and letting some run off completely drain instead of sitting in a tray helps get rid of build up fertilizers and improves soil health….. most important thing id like to add is give the plants less light over time, like 11 on 13 off. You can gradually get to that point for less stress on the plant. This happens in nature. That will help the flowers form. Eventually you can get to 10 on - 14 off by the end of the flowering formation. I noticed clawing in the leaves on some, this is usually a combination of excess nitrogen and excess water!!. It could grow out of it. Landrace strains thrive in poor soil and adding too many nutrients will hinder flower formation!!! I’ve see it first hand. Mahalooo and if you want to try some super dank seeds lemme know I’ll hook it up!!
@Da_danks, Yoo what up Growmie - I supa appreciate the insightful comment and bits of advice!
These things def act like land races, especially the untopped ones, so sick, freaking skyscrapers in my tent. Noted on the watering and lighting, probs will do a flush next strong dry back
Totally, I think I might overestimated feed amounts on these girls thinking they need a lot more in the smaller 3Gal pot
Excited to grow out these new seeds in more proper conditions and harvesting these babies - thanks for dropping by!!!
