MistaOC Blueberry Skunk – Grounded Genetics
Day 1 – December 8th, 2025
Receiving Cuts & Transplant
Today marks the official start of the Blueberry Skunk grow from Grounded Genetics.
I received five rooted cuts (clones) and transplanted them immediately into 0.2 liter pots filled with Canna Professional substrate.
The clones were handled carefully during transplant to minimize stress. All plants showed healthy coloration and stable structure at the time of potting. After transplanting, the medium was lightly watered to settle the substrate around the roots.
This day officially marks the beginning of the vegetative phase

MistaOC Day 6 – December 13th, 2025
Early Vegetative Phase / Final Transplant & Biotabs Setup
From December 8th to December 13th, the plants were left undisturbed to establish roots in the 0.2 L starter pots. This initial period allowed the clones to settle in before being moved to their final containers.
Due to space limitations, the clones were transplanted earlier than originally planned into their final 19 liter pots filled with Canna Professional substrate.
As part of the organic feeding strategy, the full Biotabs nutrient system is being used for this run.
During transplant, the substrate was amended as follows:
• StarTrex (Biotabs) was mixed into the soil
• Mycotrex was applied directly into the planting holes
After transplanting, each plant received 1 liter of water, prepared according to the Biotabs feeding schedule:
• Bactrex
• Orgatrex
Lighting and environmental stress were kept low to support root development:
• Grow light raised to maximum height
• Light intensity currently reduced to ~10-25%
• Photoperiod remains at 18/6
The plants are now being allowed to fully settle into their final containers. In the coming days, a Blumat drip irrigation system will be installed to maintain consistent moisture levels.
Once the plants show clear signs of active growth, light intensity will be increased gradually. The switch from 18/6 to 12/12 to initiate flowering is planned within the next 1–2 weeks, depending on plant development.
21.12. - VT 13 – Vegetative Stage
The 5 Blueberry Skunk clones were confirmed to be infected with powdery mildew originating from a parallel grow project, showing early symptoms shortly after introduction. The issue was identified quickly and addressed without delay.
Today, the plants were treated with a neem oil–water solution to actively suppress the powdery mildew and create at least a competitive environment against the fungus. Unfortunately, this approach is no longer feasible in the other project, but here it is intended to help contain the infection at an early stage and prevent further spread.
Additionally, the automatic irrigation system using drip Blumat stakes was installed today to ensure consistent moisture levels and reduce stress caused by irregular watering. Plant development and the progression of the mildew will be closely monitored over the coming days.
MistaOC VT 24 – Vegetative Stage (January 1, 2026)
Due to the previous grow (Superbuff Cherry), an active powdery mildew issue was still present and is currently being addressed aggressively. To improve airflow and reduce potential infection sites, the plants were partially lollipopped and surrounding foliage was thoroughly removed.
Afterwards, the entire setup was disinfected using Purolyt at the correct dilution rate. The full tent, all equipment inside, and the plants themselves were sprayed thoroughly from top to bottom to reduce spore pressure and actively combat the mildew.
Aside from this issue, plant development is progressing very well. So far, the plants have only received plain water via the drip Blumat irrigation system. Water consumption is currently quite high, and the reservoir needs frequent refilling.
Today, all plants were topped. A scrog net will be intentionally avoided this run to allow more plant movement and better airflow, further supporting mildew control.
The switch to the flowering phase is planned for tomorrow.

What beauties. The plants are currently very healthy, uniform and completely clean. No powdery mildew at all, air circulation is working perfectly, everything feels calm and well under control.
Nutrition is still based on the Biotabs system, with no issues or adjustments needed so far. Overall, the grow is running smooth and easy, making for a very clean start to flowering.

Everything is running according to plan and the ladies are growing strong and evenly. The plants are currently developing a lot of small side shoots, which slightly reduces internal airflow. As a result, minor traces of powdery mildew are still present – not completely gone, but clearly under control.
Any affected leaves are removed immediately when spotted. In addition, the plants are treated once a week with Purolyt, which has proven to be quite effective so far. Overall, the mildew situation remains manageable and at a low level.
The drip Blumat irrigation system is working reliably and takes care of watering automatically. A humidifier is not needed, as relative humidity stays consistently around 55–60 %, which is more than sufficient at this stage.
The Biotabs nutrients continue to perform exceptionally well, with very active soil life supporting healthy and vigorous plant growth. All in all, this run is shaping up very nicely.

The plants have now reached a height of around 80 cm, and the stretch is almost finished, slowly coming to an end. Bud production has clearly started, and overall the plants are looking very healthy, strong, and well structured.
Over the past days, intensive defoliation and lollipopping has been carried out, but deliberately not all at once. Instead, a small portion is done each day to keep stress levels as low as possible. Due to the heavy branching, a large number of small side shoots had formed, many of which were removed to improve airflow and create a more open plant structure.
Overall, the grow continues to run very smoothly and according to plan, once again strongly supported by the Biotabs nutrient system. One major advantage is that no CalMag, no dolomite and no additional corrections are required. Feeding is done strictly according to the Biotabs schedule, otherwise following an “only water” approach – with outstanding results so far.
Powdery mildew is still present, but only at a very minimal level. Occasionally, 2–5 affected leaves appear and are removed immediately. In addition, the entire room and the plants are treated twice a week with a water–Purolyt solution. Compared to the previous run, there is a very noticeable improvement, and the effect is clearly visible.
At this point, the grow is running fully on track, and the photos and videos speak for themselves.

The stretch is now completely finished, with the plants standing at around 82 cm. Bud development is progressing well, with clear improvements in structure and density.
Unfortunately, powdery mildew remains an issue. Affected leaves are removed daily to limit further spread. In addition, the plants are treated twice per week with Purolyt to keep spore pressure as low as possible.

Overall, everything is still running according to plan, although powdery mildew is starting to become more noticeable again. Control measures remain consistent and ongoing. Compared to the previous Super Buff Cherry run, the situation is much better under control, mainly because countermeasures are being applied earlier and more actively this time. The goal is to get the mildew issue fully resolved in the coming weeks.
Aside from that, the Blueberry Skunks are performing exceptionally well. The automatic irrigation system clearly contributes to stable, low-stress growth, and the Biotabs nutrient system continues to impress. The difference compared to earlier runs is very noticeable, especially considering how little manual input is required.
All in all, this is a solid run, and despite the mildew challenge, it already creates a lot of anticipation for the harvest.
05.02. F34
Unfortunately, powdery mildew has become noticeably more present again and has clearly spread compared to last week. So far, the infestation is fortunately limited to the fan leaves, although it is visibly more pronounced there than it was a week ago.
The plants were treated again with a water–Purolyt solution to actively counter the issue. The current focus is clearly on containing the mildew and closely monitoring how the situation develops.
Relative humidity is currently around 53 %. The goal is to bring it below 50 % (ideally around 48 %), as powdery mildew struggles significantly more below this threshold. Even a difference of just a few percentage points can make a noticeable impact.
Aside from this, the grow continues to perform very well overall. Biotabs is once again outstanding, delivering excellent results with very simple handling. The Gardena drip Blumat system is working flawlessly, and all key parameters remain well balanced.
Thrips were only present at a very minimal level. After a single nematode application, no further signs have been observed so far.
The focus remains on keeping the powdery mildew under control.
Die Genetik hab ich gerade auch im Zelt als Stecki.
Macht sich sehr gut, Wachstum war auch sehr stark.
Bin auf die Blüte gespannt, ist jetzt Ende BW3 🏼
@Stony_German, vielen Dank dir growmie! Jetzt bleibt nur noch zu hoffen, dass mein Mehltau Problem nicht vom super Buff Cherry run auf meine blueberries überspringt 🤞🏼.
@Mia_BIOTABS, Hi, thanks for pointing that out. I agree the light was a bit too strong — the girls were showing slight light burn and very short internodal spacing. I’ve now raised the lamp a little and reduced the intensity by 10%. I’ll keep an eye on them and adjust further if needed
@SpliffAthletics, das kann ich gut verstehen 😊 ich bin auch sehr verliebt in die kleinen blueberry Ladies 😍 danke für deinen Kommentar! Freut mich sehr, dass wir das gleiche fühlen.
She's filling out that space so well! The canopy looks very even. I'm curious about how you're managing the stretch, do you find she needs a lot of support? I'd appreciate if you could take a look at my diaries and give me some advice on my own progress!
