Yet another DS-11 grow

heis0070 Had an extra DS-11 clone left over from my previous grow that I decided to veg out while the other plants were flowering. Experimented with some HST and popping on this plant. She was getting pretty sad in the open basement area as it’s getting cool not in the tent. Tossed a bet over her as soon as I put her in the tent. I’ll probably veg in the tent for a week and flip to flower pretty quickly as she’s pretty big already.

heis0070 Aggressively pruned and defoliated lower growth, working up to removing most everything under the net level. Flipped to 12-12 after a day or two of recovery, as the scrog net is starting to fill up and I want room for tucking during the stretch. Still working on dialing in the BluMat. With the bigger pot it may take a few more days to get it working how I’d like.

heis0070 Continued to tuck new growth under the trellis net. Space is getting pretty limited so I will probably let the tops start growing up in the next day or two as long as the canopy stays nice and even. Finally got the BluMat dialed in the past couple of days so base watering should be good to go. I will continue to top water weekly with recharge as a treat.

heis0070 Currently on day 17 of flower. Allowed growth to grow above the net mid week, and the plant has responded well. Buds are developing nicely and the canopy is pretty even. I will start defoliating later this week with an eye on having her cleaned up by day 21 or so.

heis0070 She finished stretching and the canopy seems set. Not the worst but it’s a bit peaky. Flowers are starting to develop. I removed all of the lower growth over the past week and am looking forward to how the buds end up.

heis0070 Buds are looking good so far. I have another defoliation late this week to open up the light access for flowers that were starting to be shaded again by new fan leaves. Light intensity is on point and I’ll largely be running maintenance for the next few weeks while she continues to grow. Next week I will be supplementing with Canna PK for one week, per Canna’s feeding chart.

heis0070 Plant still in maintenance mode. Defoliating blocking fan leaves as needed, and fed PK this week per the manufacturer’s feed chart.

heis0070 Back to normal nutes without extra PK. I’m assuming the next week or two will be maintenance and then I’ll start ramping down the light intensity to prepare for harvest. Plans are to give a hard defoliation removing all fan leaves not embedded in a bud about one week before the estimated harvest date.

heis0070 Dropped the Boost as she’s down to the last two weeks or so. I took off a good number of fans this week to expose flowers again. Next week I’ll start lowering the light intensity and will remove all fans.

heis0070 Defoliated in anticipation of harvest soon, but while removing leaves I noticed that the buds are a bit loose still. I think I’ve been too aggressive defoliating this grow, and have been taking sugar leaves that shouldn’t have been removed. Lesson learned for next grow. I’ll give this plant another couple of weeks if she’ll take it to allow as much time for buds to mature and fill in.

heis0070 This cut of DS-11 is ready to harvest around day 64 of flower, which was yesterday for this one. Due to my bungling of defoliation, I’m going to run her another week or so in the hopes the buds fill in a little more densely. Close pic of a bud shows a good amount of cloudy trikes on the flower, so she’s probably in the harvest window now but I don’t see any amber yet so I’ve got some time.

heis0070 I’m giving her another couple days, letting the last late buds finish maturing, and will probably harvest then.

heis0070 Harvested buds in larger chunks and stored them all in my homemade cannatrol type wine fridge. Yield seemed pretty good. Buds were shaped a bit goofy and density was a bit all over due to previous overly aggressive defoliation but overall lots of trikes and nice colors and smells. Be back in a few weeks once the dry is done.
