Leaves are getting bigger 2", stalk is still shorter than my thumb in length 2".
The plant seems normal at this stage (week 1)
Note: My 3-year-old WW seeds are not sprouting.
Is there a place to add PPFD readings that I have missed?
I can add an entry in my grow comments, but this seems important enough to warrant an entry in the logs.
PPFD x Time(in seconds) = moles.
12 hours is 60x60x12 = 43200 seconds
500ppfd x 43200 seconds = 21,600,000 micro moles.
21.6 moles.
DLI of 21.6
Really not complicated at all. Just switch out whatever time you are using.
18 hours is 64800 seconds.
DLI would be the more relvant metric. PPFD depends on hours of operation. it's only half the equation of how much light you provide in an apples to apples way compared to other gardens of various sizes and various hours of operation.
I don't think many can calculate it correctly in a consistent way. Even ppfd - most think ppfd a single-point measurement, which then dominos into an erroneous DLI calculation.
Check out the wiki on DLI (daily light integral). It's thorough enough.

charlesvb This is week four, the plant has started flowering. I have done a good job of watching how fast the plant was growing. Several burnt leaves have been the result.
