Winter Wonderland

WeedbayGarden In this grow diary we will be following the growth and flowering of 8 plants. You can find more info about making the Chem DD F3 x Raspberry Parfait seeds in my previous grow diaries "Raspberry Parfait solo plant, pollination & sinsemilla!" and "Lemonhoko Chem DD F3 NoTill Ikea Stealth". I also wanted to test out some strains from my seed vault and ran into Space Monkey, the seed pack was already kind of old and it this plant was the only one from the pack that managed to germinate. Ace mix includes hybrid mixes of Ace seeds strains from their recent breeding projects. This includes land race strains from all over the world, Malawi, Panama, Guatemala, Congo, Vietnam, China, Pakistan and Afghanistan for example. Might be a bag of worms, might be a motherlode, you never know if you won't try. 18.12 | Now that I see the pictures taken its clear the plants are screaming for more nutrients. I have kept a low feed until now to limit growth speed, since my 2x4 is still in use with the plants that these clones were taken from. I will be getting the 2x4 tent empty within two weeks, these plants are already asking for it with the amount that these drink.

WeedbayGarden 4.1 - I have been super busy with finishing the earlier runs so these plants have suffered late waterings and a bit of draught with it. Still looking good, started to raise base nutrient amounts to more normal veg numbers. I only had 50w LED-panel for these plants since half of my fixture broke down, no problem since it was an extra anyway. Silica and Recharge is fed once a week, other nutrients go in with every normal watering.

WeedbayGarden 7.1 - Tent is now emptied from last round, Ebb&Flood system cleaned, tent walls scrubbed, fans repositioned, intake filter refreshed. Still using old two carbon filters on one exhaust fan, both ends connected to filters. I already bought a spare if I start to notice any smell coming from the tent, this is one reason I positioned the carbon filter to easy switch location inside the tent. Bluelab calibration coming next week, I aim to do it every two weeks for accuracy. I defoliated and cleaned up some bottom growth from the plant before placing them under the two trellis scrog nets, easier to do it outside the tent. I will see how the lower growth starts to catch up, if it doesn't reach the trellis before getting shaded out, I will clean it up a bit more. I usually do the clean up at day 10-14 of flower, that way I can still take clone's if I need any. 8.1 - Plants are getting used to the tent's environment and light intensity. I have two led fixtures to light up these plants, first one is 240w with 3000K QB288 v2 panels without far red diodes, second one is 240w 3500K QB288 v2 R-Spec panels with far reds. I have now dimmed both fixtures to 90 watts each, so 180 watts total. I have been dealing with thrips in my grow room so I added 20 000 n.cucumeris predator mites on top of the coco inside the pots. This way if there is any eggs still to be born, those will be eaten by the predator mites. I also added 7-week predator mite breeding pouches (white hanging ones), which have predator mites in many different life cycles, so eggs, babies, adults. I have also used pyrenthrin spray two days ago to kill all living thrips on the plants, I hope all this gives me a good foundation on this grow.

WeedbayGarden Started flowering cycle on 9.1, light cycle is now 12/12. Had 1.0 EC and 180w led power for first 5 days, wanted to see how the plants react to the automated watering. 14.1 | F5 I raised lights from 90w each to 120w each so now we are at 240w total. I also lowered the light fixtures from 60cm to 45cm so now the plants get some proper light! Plants seemed a little pale so raised EC to 1.3 at the same time. Also moved from one 3 minute flood a day to one 5 minute flood a day. Skipping flooding tomorrow, going to hand water with Silica and Recharge added to the normal feed. Bluelab PH pen and Guardian Monitor both calibrated.

WeedbayGarden 18.1 | F9 Plants are looking more and more green and all nice. Still some thrips in the canopy sadly but those predator mite satchels also doing work, I can see plenty of predator mites too. Plants have stretched a little bit over these couple days between the update, bending some growth under the trellises every two days. Might remove a leaf here and there but nothing major at this point. 19.1 | F10 I raised the led wattage from 240w to 280w. Also lifted up my corner fan, it started to shade the corner plant. I took a video of my nuisance - thrips and also video of the good guys, check it out! 21.1 | F12 Scrog is filled, like really filled. Doing first big defoliation on Friday!

WeedbayGarden 23.1 | F14 Gave plants first big defoliation to clean up suffering lower growth and pests like the thrips I had. I noticed plenty of predator mites still lurking around when defoliating which is what I like to see. I hope by removing most big fan leaves I will get rid of most live thrips inside the tent. Ace Mix is super sativa like, leaves so so thin! Some plants could do with more nutrient's but since the Ace Mix plant is in the same tray, I am going to be modest with my nutrient amounts. Guawi will also be pleased of this, since last round it grew so much leaves it was a pain to trim. Gave my weekly Recharge + Silica feed combined with the rest of my normal feed to get some nutrients into the plants to patch up the amount I took away by removing the leaves. 26.1 | F17 Gave plants Rhizotonic for the last time, weekly Recharge should be plenty at this point. Raised base nutrients from 1.3 ml/L to 1.5ml/L. I still feel there is room for more but trying to take it easy because of the more sativa leaning plants in the tent. Tent RH % dropped like 10 digits from 70 to 60. Haven't turned on dehumidifiers yet, probably will start to use one within a week since the humidity keeps rising day by day. When it comes to pest, I feel like that massive defoliation + two high speed fans blowing + predator mites are really working. Haven't spotted any thrips in couple days with heavy observation, but ofc there might still be some lurking around. Soon the plants will have sticky trichomes to defend themselves a little.

WeedbayGarden 3.2 | F25 Plants have stretched a bit from the scrog so its not that uniform anymore but no worries since the plants are looking great! Guawi is being the only plant that needs a little bit more nutrients, Ace mix is having a maximum amount at the moment and the rest are chilling and chugging along. Added Canna Boost into the nutrient mix, giving 2ml/L to all future refills. Also raised light wattage from 140w each to 160w each, so from 280w to 320w. Will keep my eye on the plants to see if there's any light bleaching happening, which is a possibility. I still got like 10-15cm space to raise the lights and my room temps & RH are a bit lower than normal so I should be okay with this update.

WeedbayGarden 10.2 | F32 - Plants reacted to 320 watts without any real problems, happy about that. Keeping the Ebb&Flood tank EC at 1.5, seems just the right amount to keep all the different phenos alive and growing. Gave the plants top feed with Silica and Recharge today, didn't do it last friday. Haven't seen signs of thrips anymore, there might be some living but I think those are getting more and more scarce. 2 Months to go!

WeedbayGarden 24.2 | F46 Whoops! Forgot to take pictures and update last week, nothing major has happened here other than budsets growing bigger. EC is still at 1.5EC, Ace Mix is looking like a PAIN to trim, others plants looking all nice. Im at half way point of flowering when it comes to the longer cultivars, still plenty to go!

WeedbayGarden 28.2 | F50 Sadly noticed Ace Mix throwing nanners (hermaphrodite) so I cut it down. Running the rest of the grow with 7 plants. I did take off plenty of leaves since humidity started to spike inside the tent. Now also running 2x 20L dehumidifiers during plants night cycle to get RH close to 60%. Other than that, its just smooth sailing.

WeedbayGarden 6.3 | F56 Dropped Silica out of the nutrient feed list, I think there is still plenty in the tank so I will let the plants use those. I did also lower Canna Coco A+B amount, EC is dropped from 1.5 to 1.2 for now. Since there is now a need for 2x dehumidifiers running to keep RH in check, temperatures have also risen inside the tent. In addition to the dehumidifiers adding heat into the grow space, outside temperatures have also started to rise so I will have to think about lowering the 350w the leds are pulling into the 300w range. Lets just hope weather stays like this and I will get some bulking in the upcoming next weeks! 7.3 | F57 Temperatures did go to 30.5C so I had to dimm the leds from 350w to 320w. Checking tomorrow if this decrease is enough to bring temperatures to 29.5C or close. 9.3 | F59 Seems like temperatures are now staying at around 29 degrees so the decrease in light amount was enough to get environment in check. 12.3 | F62 Couple plants leaves start to fade in color, also some burning on the leaf tips so going to do a "flush" with half strenght nutrient mix (0.6EC) to remove built up salts from the coco.

WeedbayGarden 19.3 F69 - Plants are looking more and more pale now when I check the tent, some tips burning on Guawi. Since EC has creeped to 1.4, I will start to lower it just a bit. Space Monkey looks lime green and about ready to harvest, most of the pistil hairs have turned brown and the top growth looks ready. Might also just do a partial harvest and give the lower growth some more time. I heard from a buddy that this Guawi pheno can go full 90 days in flower! That's crazy, I'll try to get close to that, hopefully all the way there. Temperatures have been rising in the tent so I took the other LED-fixture away from the tent and set up this one left in the tent to 240w.

WeedbayGarden 28.3 | F78 - Nothing major going on, just waiting of plants to finish. Chopped some Space Monkey top nugs and placed those into drying tent, pretty much starting to take the rest down in couple days, Guawi ofc going down last. Smells coming from inside the tent is almost dazing, even with a pollen allergy nose I have :P Going to take some proper nug shots when this round is over, getting some photography equipment to take better pictures so stay tuned. 2.4 | F83 - Lowered base nutrients to 1.0 m/L which brings EC down to 0.9 EC. Chopped down Space Monkey and 1/2 of the Chem DD x Raspberry plants. Guawi and the second Chem DD x Raspberry are still throwing a bunch of white pistils, bit foxtaily but still. Checked trichomes from the California Octane plants, still milky and no amber in sight. Maybe one more week of flowering?

WeedbayGarden 7.4 | F87 Whoah this round has taken time! All three Cali Octanes are getting their first amber trichomes, it was advertised as a 60day strain but I got no problem taking it all the way if that's what those need ;) The nugs on these look AMAZING and super hella frosty, #3 in the corner doing most of the work with two #10's coming behind. Guawi taking its sweet ass time with ripening, still shooting more and more white pistils but I'm getting tired of waiting! Three more days, at day 90 it will be chop time. Some Chem DD x Raspberry Parfait nugs still in the tent, I have tested some ready nugs and those are real killers. Makes your knees feel like noodles, more about this later.

WeedbayGarden 10.4 | F90 - This grow has arrived to it's destination! Plants are now chopped and placed into drying net. Temperature's are at 23C and RH% is at ~50 inside the tent, I have a bunch of laundry to wash to bring up the RH inside the grow room so hoping I will get seven days of drying that way. I will post better pictures of nugs and smoke reports after this harvest has cured a bit. Until then, you can check out my new diary about Hella Jellies & Dragons blood hashplant :)
