Strawberry Cough (DWC)

MontanaManMedical She’s looking really healthy, and is nearly as big as Dream Widow, which popped a day earlier. I’ve had this strain as grown by other people, but it’s been a long while since I’ve had some. So far I’m off to a good start.

MontanaManMedical She’s getting taller rapidly. This has caused me to bump up her deployment to the flowering tent, as I don’t want her to stretch too much. So far everything seems to be in order.

MontanaManMedical In just a week she’s over doubled in height. I’m glad she’s going into the flowering tent next week. I’m curious what the final stretch will be.

MontanaManMedical Now that there is room in the flowering tent, Strawberry Cough has been moved in, and not a day too soon. I’m glad I have 2 trellis nets, otherwise this would be difficult to control. I’ve anchored the main stalk into the lower net to give the plant more stability, since this predates my change to tying the smaller net pot into the larger one. The good news, is that this did the trick for Blue Dream. Really excited to get this one started flowering!

MontanaManMedical What a week! She’s stretching a bunch, which has caused me to begin guiding the branches through the nets to make an even eventual canopy. The leaves look really healthy, and overall the plant seems happy. I’m curious what her final height will be.

MontanaManMedical She’s stretching like crazy. I’ve done my best to manage to stretch, with careful pinching helping to slow things down. If the main cola pretty much stops where it is, then I’ll be good. Several pinches on the upper portion of the plant to help with this. So far, so good otherwise. She looks really healthy, so once the stretch is over with, I can relax.

MontanaManMedical She continues to stretch! I think she might stretch for a few more days, but likely not that much for much longer. While not perfect, I’m happy where she is right now. I have quite a few (soon to be) nice colas a perfect distance from the light. The leaves look healthy and the plant seems happy.

MontanaManMedical She still stretched a little bit into this week. There’s a bit of a Nitrogen deficiency, as evidenced by the few yellowing fan leaves, mostly the lower ones. I’ve upped the nutrients by 20%, and will do so with this strain in the future once it gets into flowering. All in all, the plant looks pretty healthy, with rapid bud development, which has exploded over the last few days. On Wednesday she’ll be halfway through flowering. I’m looking forward to her getting a scent.

MontanaManMedical Cleaned up the canopy a bit to let more light through. I gave her some nitro-mino to hopefully address the nitrogen deficiency. That being said, the buds are growing rapidly, with a very slight smell that smells very faintly of berry.

MontanaManMedical I figured out the cause for the nitrogen deficiency, after re-calibrating the PH probe and discovering it was reading 0.8 high! I will recalibrate every 3 months now to prevent this from happening (my new SOP - standard operating procedure). Despite her looks, she seems to have responded well to correction of the PH. I have a 3 pack of this strain, so I will definitely be growing this strain again to see how it does when the PH is correct. I hate making mistakes, but I’m always grateful when I figure out what the mistake was and don’t make it again. Hopefully 3.5 weeks (it was corrected Wednesday) of flowering is enough for a recovery. It seems to mostly have affected the fan leaves. I know they’re important, but the buds are decently dense. Hopefully they’ll still turn out decent.

MontanaManMedical Sorry to disappoint everyone with the bad outcome, but in a few months I'll be growing it again, this time with the PH probe freshly calibrated!
