I thought I was done with growing until spring but I just couldn't help myself, I just had to grow something. So about 3 days ago , I placed two seeds from a pack of 5 regular Colorado clementines which I purchased from Aussie Canna Seeds Australia into a shot glass filled with luke warm rainwater overnight. The next day I then placed the seed's into a pre moistened facial makeup remover pad then placed that into a zip lock bag. Two day's later Only one of seeds had sprouted so she was carefully planted tap root down into a mixture of coco coir and perlite and placed onto a heat mat under a small T5 light. The other seed was left to continue germinating however I don't like it's chances. ##update the second seed is cactus 😞 The seedling I still have is from reg seed stock so there is a 50/50 chance it will become male if this happens I will collect the pollen and compost the plant if it's a girl she will be allowed to grow out 👊

the Colorado clementine baby is growing fine although with mutant like leaves 😯 I will begin feeding a weak solution of nutrients *professors nutrients parts A & B * I will put a small bowl of water in with the plant to hopefully create some humidity I have a heat mat underneath the plant to maintain a nice warm environment as the temps here are getting down towards 0 degrees celcius overnight. 👊

The mutant is still alive even tho I managed to let it get too hot and the leaves were a little scorched. This may well be the shortest diary yet if it succumbs to my previous rough treatment. We will see 😁

Still alive 😂 This plant really is a freak I had to remove the first leaves as they dried out from a combination of both low humidity and high temps. 😐 However where the next set are growing from something sure isn't normal 😮 There are atleast 3 sets of new leaves all trying to grow at once from the main node 😝 Crazy schit I kid you not 😄 Anyhow i'm intriqued now so I'm going to transplant it into a grow out size pot with some coco and perlite just to watch and see what becomes of it.😎

Not a whole lot to report except that I transplanted into a larger pot with a coco perlite super growth pellet mix Very petite little plant with vigorous leaf growth albeit they are tiny 😁 The only reason I'm keeping it is to see how it turns out but being on the autoflowering light schedule (because of other grow) It will have to continue vegging until the autos are finished .

Only one week of coco growing and I realised that the pot he/she was in was going to take up too much valuable space if I wanted to keep him/her alive. So I transplanted it into a 3 litre mini dwc bubble bucket which takes up a lot less space. Basically He/She is a dwarf , Very stunted with extremely short internodal spacing. My plan is to keep vegging for now then either switch lighting to 12/12 or plant him/her outdoors once the worst of winters over and done with. 👍👊

Well the time came for the little mutant to vacate the tent. Basically I needed the room for another grow and because I'm on an autoflowering light schedule 20/4 I decided the mutant would need to stay in veg for a long time if it remained in the tent. So I moved it outdoors under a greenhouse/patio Which offers full protection from the elements (except the cold temps) I am expecting it to show preflowers soon and if it is a female She can keep on growing where she is now or if male He can fuck off 😅 as It doesn't show any desirable Breeding traits that I am interested in. Healthwise the plant looks pretty good considering the abrubt move outside , cold nights etc So fingers crossed it's a girl 😀

######### Despite the very cold temps we have been experiencing lately this plant still managed to grow an inch or so taller and has developed yet another set of new nodes and side branches. I would have thought that with the lack of daylight hours it would have shown it's sex by now but no preflowers are visible. There is minor leaf tip damage from the cold but the overall health of this plant seems fine. Tough as nails this strain seems to be able to handle very cold conditions.......... Might be a viable winter strain ????? 😀

####### I decided to change the name of this diary to winter stress test because that is precisely what I'm putting this plant thru. We have been experiencing max temps of 13 celcius and min temps of 0 . The plant is under cover so no risk of frost damage however the temps are still very cold for a plant to grow. The nutrient solution temps I have not been monitoring reguarly enough to get a high and low number but I'm assuming that they would be similiar to the outside temps. Another interesting thing to note is that despite the fact this a regular type seed strain and that where I live is only currently recieving 9hrs and 58mins of daylight the plant has not shown any signs of flowering or showing sex. Maybe it's planning on waiting until closer to spring 😏 But I have other stressful ideas 😈 I have a nice dark and a bit warmer spot to put it for the next 90 straight hours of which will be spent in total uninterupted Darkness. Will show results next update 👽 ##UPDATE 12/7/19 Well I put it into darkness on Monday the 8th july and only took it out this afternoon friday 12th july It looks a bit munted 😂 But fuck me if it will show it's sex 😧 I'm guessing Female now simply because a male would have surely shown his balls by now 😹 So it's now back out in the make shift green house again to see what happens next. Will update end of the week

This time last week I put the Mutant into Darkness and there it stayed for 4 Days 😦😯😵 Pretty much f*ck all happened other than some fairly pale coloured new growth. So it went back outside to the makeshift greenhouse where the average daily max & min temps are 14 and 4 degrees Celcius. 😨😨 Had a closeup look with the magnifier today and I think I have seen the start of some Pollen sacks aka a male 😏 I have been doing some thinking on this and I think that if it's indeed a male and not a hermie I will let it flower and I will collect some pollen for a future project. So far it has show a couple of desireable traits 1 being the smell during veg is quite strong 2. the short internodal spacing and 3 it's apparent ability to withstand cold low light environments These traits are enough reason for me to want to experiment further at a later Date. If its a hermie It's going in the trash Happy Grows 👌

Well here we are again at the end of another week and start of a new one The plant is still growing new leaves and keeping healthy despite the terrible weather conditions . We had three days of clear skies which meant overnight minimums of around zero degrees celcius and a max of 16 Then we had 4 days of rain with min temps around 5 and max 14 This plant has a strong smell even tho it's in veg and probably a male I think I can see the beginnings of the pollen sacks developing when I look with the magnifier. Zero signs of female pistils so things are looking good for it to become a pollen donor for a breeding project over summer I will give it a nutrient change tomorrow and I will add a little Guano to help promote those pollen sacks to develop. See you all next week and thanks for Stopping by

Hi all This plant continues to impress me even tho it's a confirmed male It has managed to not only survive but thrive in the almost freezing conditions Lack of care and maintenence and also the 4 days I kept it in total darkness. I thought I would list a few of the desirable traits that I have noticed in this plant that has convinced me to keep some pollen for a breeding project. Firstly is it's apparent ability to withstand constant temps ranging from cold to very cold. 2nd is it's general growth structure plenty of branching and shortish internodal spacing 3rd is the smell of the leaves and stems when rubbed it reminds me of buds well into flower 😯 A fruity tangy pleasant aroma that I hope is passed on as a successive trait when i breed with him. 4th is it's genetic lineage I did some research on the history of colorado Clementines and was pleased to find that the base genetics were very strong and had several well known strains in it's genotype. To name a few it has C99 , bigbud, jack herer, northern lights #5 ,lambsbread, shiva skunk as well as various other Hazes and afghani genetics So it's a real mongrel breed but has potential as a stud pollen donor So there we have it folks I will continue updating this diary until I have collected the pollen and that will be it Thanks for stopping by 👍

Welcome to the 13th week of this Grow Seems like this fellow is taking a long time to fully flower, However I believe that the adverse conditions probably have a part to play in this regard. I have notice the pollen sacks are swelling and there is a slight purple colour developing on the very tip of the newest leaves . Very cool 😀 The feeds for this Male plant are fairly basic Professors nutrients Go Green @ 2mls per litre Natures Own Super bloom Guano organic @ 5mls / litre Ph 5.7 PPM 650 Thanks for stopping By 👊

Hey Everybody Welcome back to another update of my Mutant test strain diary . Getting very close to shedding his pollen now so I make a couple of daily checks on his progress. As soon as I see pollen I will collect as much as i can and Chop him down. The smell is strong and quite pungent For a male and The only negative trait so far I have noticed is the long time It has taken to flower Which could effect the bloom time of any female I made a cross with . Still learning the ins and outs of breeding practices and what I am supposed to be looking out for when choosing a pollen donor. But that is all part of the intrigue and enjoyment I get when growing and I wouldn't change a thing . 😀 So feeds were the same Professors Nutrients go Green @ 2mls / litre Natures own super bloom guano @ 5 mls / litre PPM 650 Ph 5.7 I Don't expect this diary to go much longer maybe another 2 weeks max before I harvest the pollen and chop him down Thanks once again for looking in at my diary See ya's Round like a rissole

Well as you know I have stressed the living hell out of this plant right from the start . Just to recap some of the stresses I induced on the plant were 5 days of complete darkness followed by many weeks of subjection to very cold days and freezing nights No Ph adjudstment between feed changes ( which weren't that often) And just basic neglection on my part. And still this plant remains healthy , vigorous and very stinky considering it's a 100% male plant with zero female pistils I harvested some pollen today , will attempt to harvest a little more tomorrow and then He will get the Official chop . Running another batch of Canna Coconut oil soon so he will go in with the other trim to be decarbed and made into oil. Thanks to everyone who followed along with my crazy way of growing and also thanks to those just looking in now . ***********UPDATE 26/8/19 Collected one more bit of pollen today If you look at the last few pics you will see that the plant has just about completely turned purple Cool shit I hope it passes that trait on UPDATE 2nd September Still alive in a safe spot away from any females . I have been doing some further stress testing by putting the plant out into the full elements . The last 3 days here have seen max temps reach no more than 14 with min temps as low as 1 and aprox 126mm of rain with hail 😱😱😨 Yet the latest pics as you will see show that the plant isn't fazed one little bit , in fact looks perfectly healthy 😃 They breed them tough in Colorado 😂 Anyway Thats all folks ......

@Techpuffin, good question the only females i have are in my tent and the males outside however once it starts poppin pollen I need to make sure I don't inadvertantly carry it inside to the girls on my clothes or hands So I plan to only go near the male once Ive already checked on the girls for that day and will take xtra precautions when it;s shedding Gonna sieve it and freeze it for later on
