womar 2nd day of week 5, upped VPD to 1.0 to push it to absorb more water & nutrients from the soil; upped watering amounts & nutrients accordingly; trying to keep the canopy even, it is getting quite wide at this point

womar Had some issues with older leaves getting spotty and yellowing which I think was cal/mag deficiency so I started supplementing with that; while I was waiting for the calmag to arrive I had to give it a bit of a break in terms of lower light intensity, fewer hours & lower VPD; I ordered calmag from 2 different places to get it as quickly as possible and one of them accidentally sent me the wrong product (acti-vera) but they both arrived at the same time so I took advantage of the acti-vera to help the plant recover since supposedly that’s what it does This is technically preflower but I’ll count it as flower since they are visible now lol - pretty happy with the results of my LST considering it’s my first time

Hi dude, first grow super exciting, all is well so far just a couple things. Vpd 10x less effective night (no transpiration) do not leave your plant sitting in high rh during its night cycle, get back to 18/6. The common misconception that more daylight is better is complete poppycock and detrimental if your plant is not being optimized for nights. If its left to wallow in short wet nights the plants energetic potential becomes seriously compromised from a lack of oxygen.

@@Ultraviolet, just checked on the AC infinity app and it’s not been that bad actually, i have it prioritize VPD above all else so at night when temps dropped bc the light was off it adjusted the humidity to be lower as well. That’s better right? (Each big drop on the chart is nighttime/lights off)

@womar, so long as its not sitting at 60+ all night after night after night. The odd spell of moisture is OK. It's more.....I kinda think of it like. No such thing as too much water in a medium. Only a medium that retains too much for too long. Roots can only perform Transpiration where roots reach in a pot Can't pull water out a pot if roots can't get to it. If rh never drops eventually that wayer will stagnate. Once plant is bigger won't be a problem. As much. Looks 👍

@Ultraviolet, I actually have better transpiration following vpd. No matter the humidity, as long as vpd is dialed, then the plants drink much easier. As long as there's airflow, nothing should stagnate. I flowered this summer at 86°f and 68rh and above 60 at night because temps didn't drop below 75 and everything did superbly well despite the intense heat

Good job following vpd and everything. For me it was hard to break myself of old habits. I wouldn't be caught dead with humidity above 60 in flower. But recently I followed vpd from start to finish and it was so simple and the plants stayed healthy from start to finish. I had big ole colas in my humidifier most. But with temps above 80 in the summer, I had rh up pushing 70% and the plants did fine. I raised the vpd to 1.2 at the end but they did fantastic start to finish around 1.0 depending on temps. You're doing great though. It cool to see people following vpd now. When I started it was set rh depending on growth stage

@AestheticGenetix, thank you! To be honest I've been using AI to help with this since it's my first grow & it said that VPD is more important than RH because it's what ultimately affects transpiration (which makes sense). I think since it's the only plant in there humidity isn't an issue at all, I would immediately notice any issues such as mold anyway. I'm now dealing with a tiny bit of tacoing though, like just the very tips of the leaf edges, and not much of an idea what it could be from other than too much light? It's weird considering the producer recommends keeping it at 100% and this happened after i bumped it from 50% to 60% lol. Any idea if that's what it is? I am using an Ionboard s22 (115W full spectrum LED) currently at 37cm (14.5in) from the top of the canopy.
