PavementPunk I made my own living soil with premixed nutrients and minerals and added peat moss, compost/manure, pumice, biochar, a little worm castings and worms maybe 15 or 20 from my backyard. It actually smells pretty good in the tent like good fresh soil. Or im i a weirdo lol. I feel like i did a decent job mixing the ratios and letting it cook for 3 weeks. It might be slightly light on nutrients but i do have a bit i saved for top dressing. Im hopeful this is a rewarding method. My other seedlings got a little stretchy. I used a heat mat for the first time and germinated directly into peat pucks. They popped a lot faster than i expected. This seedling has stayed compact. Hopefully this doesn't hurt things too bad. Environment has been pretty good. Got the light at 16 inches @ 44% power 🤞happy growing yall ✌️

PavementPunk Pretty sure the fly issue is negatively affecting 2 of my 3 seedlings. Wondering if living soil was a mistake. I put down some pumice around the base of these babies in a small circle as like mulch to hopefully protect their roots. Watered them only where my rocks are. I planted cover crops for the living soil watered everything in and covered it with some dry peat pumice mix i had. I hit that with a decent layer of diatomaceous earth too and another sticky trap or 2. Hoping this helps get it under control. I got a flying insect plug in trap on the way too. The BPP RF3 is looking pretty good and doing well at least there is that lol happy growing yall ✌️

PavementPunk This girl continuestostrugglethe most of the group. They all look better since the first full strength dose of wdg3000. I gave them 2 with a 1/4 strength myco+ dose in between. Gave some other living soil i have in a pot a decent but of it too to hopefully start getting rid of any fly larvae in there. I want this grow to bounce back even though its already half over. Maybe. I might need to do 1 more auto run instead of my photos next. Light at 80% 16 inches high Happy growing friends ✌️

PavementPunk I think this plant was the most harmed by the flies. Possibly due to the fact that i buried its peat puck the least deep. I feel like all 3 of their timelines have gotten shifted probably lengthened a bit. This girl is supposed to be done in 2 weeks but she may need longer. Im just glad they are all doing better. I gave them a good slow soak with the sprayer and the next watering i gave them a half strength wdg3000 soaking. I may need to start watering every 48 hours. Some lst and pruning on the other 2 this one left mostly natural shape. I got another round of autos started today for the next run. Will be adding them to the diaries soon. Spring is in the air here in south USA got some outdoor projects rolling too. Happy growing friends ✌️

PavementPunk About no lst defol or anything w this girl. A little lower runt removal. Same as other 2 bottom watering in the sun top watering with wdg3000 and instant compost tea. The zammi f1s always look like the buds are gonna be tiny and then they just fill out so nice. Probably because i had bug issues too and growth was slow for a while there. Happy with my tent and whole garden. Feeling good about things. Well things in my life, the world is a mess lol Happy growing yall ✌️

PavementPunk This girl had the worst start and looked terrible due to pests. I wasn't expecting much but am pleasantly surprised she is chunking up nicely. She also smells really nice like dank grapes. Quite frosty too. Things are pretty stable in the tent. A bit warm and humid as usual but thats my climate. Main note is defoliation of fan leaves for light penetration air flow and maybe most important reducing humidity. Been doing 48 hour waterings gonna go a little bit longer closer to 72 trying to fight the humidity. Dont want the living soil getting too dry either. A soil moisture meter would be helpful. Still wanna get a vcure for my post harvest but alas i haven't ordered one yet lol. Hard to drop that much $ on 1 purchase for me. Messed w putting the dehumidifier in the tent. Temps went up to almost 80. Vpd was like 1.6 too. I think if i didnt have my tent stuck in the back of a bathroom it would be easier to keep it cooler. Been messing w having my intake at different spots in the tent. Haven't found a magic spot yet lol. Keep growing yall ✌️

PavementPunk Main notes from this week are i did a bottom watering out in the intense sun. The transition may have stressed them a little. Got some brown burnty spots on a few top leaves, all good. Also hit them with a molasses watering that i phed to 6.4. This girl appears to be closest to harvest and has a very pleasant smell. Overall happy w her and this grow in general now that things have gotten more stable lol happy growing yall ✌️

Happy Harvest Day!

Maybe im partial to zamnesia because they were my first seeds i bought or maybe because they sent me these seeds for free to do a grow diary for them but i think this is good plant. She bounced back from a fly infestation on her roots and just packed on the buds. Honestly i should probably give her a 9 because she did grow a little funny but we will just say that was the flies lol. She definitely does smell like grape also not very strong but its there. I wonder if maybe i cut em a little earlier if i could preserve more terps. I got my house freezing w these hanging. Need a curing machine. Overall easy and pleasant grow i did 0 training and removed a handful of fan leaves and a few runt nodes but basically a hands off grow. I think the living soil is pretty good especially not having to ph water. Will smoke report and all soon. Happy growing friends ️

Maybe some yellow sticky cards will help against the bugs? Edit: Oh, I saw you already use those... The little black flies (Sciara analis) lay eggs in your soil and their larvea eat the roots of your plants 😟
PavementPunk
PavementPunk commented5mo ago
@India_Calcoen, im certain they are affecting the plants. Yeah i need nematodes or something 😮‍💨 edit lol i got wdg3000 bti from buildasoil on the way. We shall see🤞

Put diatomateous earth on top. It will kill larva, your yellow traps catch adults.
