Enki_Weed While the AK-47 is currently struggling with the transition, the Runtz x Layer Cake is showing itself to be the clearly more vigorous plant in the DWC system as it enters the second week. Even though it also has the characteristic purple stems, its overall appearance is much more stable and powerful. Its leaves are plumper and do not show the extreme loss of turgor that we see with the AK-47. This suggests that it is mastering the transition to water root formation more efficiently and is already better adapted to the current conditions in the system. The decision to reduce the light by 5% is also benefiting it, as it can now fully invest its energy into root growth instead of having to fight against excessive radiation. The current environmental values of 25.5 °C air temperature and around 56% humidity seem almost ideal for the Runtz x Layer Cake. It is taking advantage of these conditions to maintain its metabolism while pushing the first important white root tips into the nutrient solution below the surface. With a pH of 5.8 and an EC of 0.96, it finds a perfectly prepared environment to "hit the gas" as soon as the roots make full contact with the water. For the Runtz x Layer Cake, the goal for the next few days is clear: We expect a significantly faster increase in new leaf mass compared to the AK-47. It acts like the frontrunner in the tent, demonstrating that the system is functioning biologically. We are now closely observing whether it can handle full light intensity first again once the root system is strong enough to quench the plant's thirst.

The AK-47 (4 days ahead) and the Runtz x Layer Cake are now showing the crucial first water roots breaking out of the net pots. Fresh leaf growth is visible on both. Tech Check: • Roots: First white tips are reaching the nutrient solution. The "Turbo Mode" is just around the corner. • Values: Temp (19.2°C) and ORP (312 mV) are ideal for young roots. • pH/EC: Starting controlled in the active phase with 6.3 and 0.88 EC. Next Step: Now push the pH down towards 5.8 to allow the young water roots maximum nutrient uptake as they dive deeper.

Enki_Weed We're in week 4 of the growth phase, and I had to do a complete system reset today. While the AK is already showing decent roots, the Runtz Layer Cake is visibly struggling. It's showing clear signs of nutrient lockout and growth stoppage. Changes & Corrections After cleaning the setup and mixing fresh water, the parameters were immediately optimized: • pH correction: Lowered from 6.1 to 5.9 to get nutrient uptake back on track. • EC adjustment: Reduced the EC value from 1.37 to 1.20 mS/cm. A slightly "lighter" menu should reduce the salt stress on the Runtz. • Health Check: The water temperature is stable at 18.3°C. The ORP value of 305 mV confirms a clean, oxygen-rich environment after the cleaning. Observations The Runtz Layer Cake is underdeveloped compared to the AK and shows light leaf discoloration (chlorosis). I hope that the lower pH and moderate EC value will lead to some green shoot tips in the next few days. The AK, on the other hand, looks vigorous and seems ready for the next push.

The Runtz x Layer Cake is a bit behind; its roots are just starting to take hold now, which is why it looks a bit light/yellowish on top. Since both are in the same DWC system, the nutrient solution is now being precisely adjusted. 💧 Water Values & Setup • System: DWC with full Hesi series (TNT, Root Complex, SuperVit). • Values: pH 5.8 | EC 0.97 (decreasing) | Water Temp: 19.9°C. • Special Feature: The ORP value of 317 mV confirms a clean, oxygen-rich root environment. Measures • Nutrient Management: Since the EC value is decreasing, the plants are feeding well. I’m slightly raising the target EC to 1.1 to satisfy the hunger of the AK-47 and provide more reserves for the Runtz. • Support: The Runtz is receiving a light foliar feed (Hesi TNT + Root Complex) to support nutrient uptake until its root system is fully established. • Handling: During the water change, the roots were temporarily protected and stored in a bucket – everything went smoothly. Conclusion: The AK-47 sets the pace, and the Runtz is now slowly catching up. The conditions are ideal with a pH of 5.8 and cool water.

Enki_Weed Week 6: Veg – Reset & Silicon Boost 🌿 System Update: Complete cleaning of the DWC (35L). Switching to osmosis water + CalMag (Base EC 0.45). • pH Value: Stabilized at 6.0 (after initial Silic-Rock Jo-Jo). • EC Value: Currently 1.24 mS/cm (slightly rising, observation ongoing). • Water Temp: Perfect 18.9°C – 20.3°C. Nutrient Mix (per 35L): • Plagron Silic Rock: 35 ml (First in!) • Hesi Hydro Grow: 175 ml • Hesi Root Complex: 175 ml • Hesi Power Zyme: 70 ml Strain Check: • AK: Absolutely vital, deep green, responds very well to the LST with the bending clips. Shows slight clawing (N-limit reached). • Tuntz Lake Cake: Roots are there, but the "take-off" is delayed compared to the AK. It seems a bit more nutrient-sensitive. Measures: Light distance slightly increased to reduce transpiration stress ("canoeing"). EC is slightly lowered by adding pure osmosis water to help the Tuntz Lake Cake get started.
