Enki_Weed We're starting the second week today and are right in the middle of the critical phase where the clones are trying to transition their physiology from cutting preservation to real water roots. This is the most challenging time for the plants in the entire cycle.
The AK-47 is currently having the hardest time. It's clear to see that it's struggling with stress, which is evident through a massive loss of leaf mass and the typical "purple stems." The other plant is also showing this purple coloration but appears overall much more vigorous and stable. This discoloration of the stems is a clear signal from the plants that they are either struggling with temperature or nutrient uptake (especially phosphorus) due to the still-missing root system.
However, an important success can be noted: The first delicate water roots are finally starting to grow. Once these consistently reach the water in the tank, the leaf structure will stabilize.
To minimize stress for the struggling AK-47, the light intensity was reduced by 5% today. This helps the plants to evaporate less water through the leaves while the roots are still not fully functional. At the same time, the ambient temperature was raised to a pleasant 25.5 °C. This warmth boosts metabolism and gives the plants the necessary energy to accelerate root growth.
The remaining values in the system are currently very stable and provide the perfect basis for recovery. The pH level is at an ideal 5.8, ensuring that all available nutrients can theoretically be absorbed immediately. The EC value is kept at 0.96 to avoid overwhelming the young roots. Humidity fluctuates consistently between 56% and 61%, which, combined with the CO2 level of 900 ppm, actually creates a very good environment.
The focus for the next few days is clearly on observing the AK-47. We're waiting for the claw-like leaves to relax and for fresh, light green growth to appear in the center of the plant. That would be the sign that the transition to water has been successful.

Enki_Weed The clones have settled in. The AK-47 (4 days ahead) and the Runtz x Layer Cake are now showing the crucial first water roots breaking out of the net pots. Fresh leaf growth is visible on both.
Tech Check:

Enki_Weed We're in week 4 of the growth phase, and I had to do a complete system reset today. While the AK is already showing decent roots, the Runtz Layer Cake is clearly struggling. It's showing significant signs of nutrient lockout and growth stoppage.
Changes & Corrections
After cleaning the setup and mixing fresh water, the parameters were immediately optimized:
⢠pH Correction: Lowered from 6.1 to 5.9 to get nutrient uptake back on track.
⢠EC Adjustment: Reduced the EC value from 1.37 to 1.20 mS/cm. A slightly "lighter" menu should reduce the salt stress on the Runtz.
⢠Health Check: The water temperature is stable at 18.3°C. The ORP value of 305 mV confirms a clean, oxygen-rich environment after the cleaning.
Observations
The Runtz Layer Cake is underdeveloped compared to the AK and shows light leaf discoloration (chlorosis). I hope that the lower pH and moderate EC value will lead to the first green shoot tips in the coming days. The AK, on the other hand, looks vigorous and seems ready for the next push.

The Runtz x Layer Cake is a bit behind; its roots are just starting to take hold now, which is why it still looks a bit light/yellowish on top. Since both are in the same DWC system, the nutrient solution is now being precisely adjusted.

⢠Values: pH 5.8 | EC 0.97 (decreasing) | Water Temp: 19.9°C.
⢠Special Feature: The ORP value of 317 mV confirms a clean, oxygen-rich root environment.
Measures
⢠Nutrient Management: Since the EC value is decreasing, the plants are feeding well. I slightly raise the target EC to 1.1 to satisfy the hunger of the AK-47 and provide the Runtz with more reserves.
⢠Support: The Runtz receives a light foliar feeding (Hesi TNT + Root Complex) to support nutrient uptake until its root system is fully established.
⢠Handling: During the water change, the roots were temporarily protected and stored in a bucket ā everything went smoothly.
Conclusion: The AK-47 sets the pace, and the Runtz is now slowly catching up. The conditions are ideal with a pH of 5.8 and cool water.

Hereās a quick check-up right after the water change and switching to the 12/12 light cycle. The lady is really kicking it into gear!
š§ The System & the Values
The technical data looks really stable at the moment. Anyone whoās into Deep Water Culture (DWC) knows that water values are the be-all and end-all:
⢠Water Temperature: 19.4°C. Absolute sweet spot! Cool enough for maximum oxygen saturation, but warm enough for metabolic power.
⢠ORP Value: 286 mV. The water is biologically in great shape ā clean, active, and free of bad germs.
⢠EC Value: 1.62 mS/cm. A solid value for the transition. The AK-47 is showing hunger, pulling nutrients, and consuming plenty of water.
⢠Climate in the Tent: With 47% humidity, weāre exactly where we want to be for the start of flowering.
š Plant Check
⢠The Roots: Look fantastic! Bright white, healthy, and ready for the stretch. This is the foundation for thick buds.
⢠Thirst: The plant has sucked up one-seventh of the tank contents in no time. This shows that the metabolism has fully kicked in due to the time change.
š ļø Setup & Strategy
Feeding with the full Hesi series, supplemented by 30 ml CalMag (important with osmosis water) and 35 ml Plagron Silic Rock.
⢠Silicon Power: The Silic Rock ensures extremely stable stems ā which we need since the AK-47 will bulk up during the stretch.
⢠Space Management: Since itās getting cozy in the tent, LST (Low Stress Training) is on the agenda now. The shoots will be trained at an angle to control height and maximize light yield.

Current Status & Setup
The AK-47 has handled the switch to flowering excellently on March 12. The plant shows enormous metabolic activity, which was noticeable in the last 24 hours with a massive pH drop from 6.5 to 5.6. Since the leaves remained soft but showed slight light discoloration between the veins, a complete water change was carried out today to perfectly readjust the nutrient balance.
Nutrients & Water Values
The reservoir was freshly set up with 30 liters. The complete Hesi Hydro schedule was used. To address the plant's magnesium hunger, about 6g of Epsom salt was added. The pH was precisely adjusted to 6.1 to have a buffer for the high cation uptake. The EC value is stable at 1.8, which is ideal for the current size of the plant. The water temperature is consistently maintained at an optimal 20°C.
Lighting & Climate
The light setup has been optimized for the flowering phase. In addition to the main spectrum, red light is now increasingly used to promote flower formation, as well as UV light at hourly intervals. The latter is intended to strengthen resin production and overall resilience. The humidity is at 47%, which is ideal for promoting transpiration and preventing later mold.
Training & Observation
Low Stress Training (LST) is being consistently continued with colored clips. The goal is to keep the canopy flat and to tame the massive stretch of the AK-47 so that the lower side branches can also benefit optimally from the light. The plant is now almost completely filling the tent. In the coming week, the appearance of the first noticeable white pistils is expected.

This week, the nutrient solution has been ramped up to the maximum. The plant shows an enormous appetite, justifying the use of the full Hesi Hydro schedule.
⢠PK 13/14: The phosphorus-potassium boost has been integrated this week to massively stimulate bud formation (Bud-Swelling).
⢠EC Management: With an EC of 2.08, we are at the plant's limit. The leaf structure is checked daily for signs of nutrient burn, but so far, the AK-47 has proven to be an extremely resilient "Heavy Feeder" genetics.
šæ Plant Development & Training
The "Stretch" is almost complete, and the plant has now fully filled the tent.
⢠Bud Sites: The first compact flower clusters ("Buttons") are forming everywhere with a variety of white stigmas.
⢠Structure: Thanks to the LST clips, the canopy has been kept relatively even despite the massive growth. The light penetration from the red light additions shows a significant effect on the vitality of the side branches.
⢠UV Light: The hourly UV intervals are maintained to trigger early resin production (Trichomes).
š Summary & Outlook
The plant has perfectly overcome the critical phase of pH after the last water change. The stability at pH 6.0 is proof of a well-adjusted system. In the coming week, the focus will be on observing the leaf tips to react promptly if saturation is reached at the high EC value.

Enki_Weed Hey folks, quick update from my DWC run. We're now fully into week four and the girls are really starting to perform. The stretch is slowly settling down, and the buds are swelling up everywhere ā excitement is building!
Nutrient-wise, I'm running the Hesi program (Hydro Bloom, Boost, SuperVit). Since we're entering the crucial phase, I've dared to add an almost homeopathic dose of 5 ml Hesi PK 13/14. With an EC of 1.80, we're at the upper limit ā the leaf tips are just showing a hint that they're "well-fed" ā but at 19 degrees water temperature and a stable pH of 6.1, they're feeling great.
A little setback this week: my 24-hour monitoring unfortunately gave up the ghost ā sensor is broken. That means for me it's "back to basics" and manually measuring every day until the replacement arrives. But hey, at least this way I'm staying close to the plants!
Thanks to LST and my trusty bending clips, the canopy looks nice and even. Now it's time to keep my fingers crossed that the PK boost really pushes the buds in the coming days.

Enki_Weed We're now in the middle of the flowering phase, and the AK-47 is really starting to show some muscle. The trichome formation is massive and is already extending well over the sugar leaves ā the typical AK smell is getting more intense by the day!
I just did a complete water change to give the lady some fresh nutrients (especially phosphorus and potassium) for the final stretch.
š§ Water parameters (current):
⢠pH: 5.8 ā 6.2 (stabilizing after the probe acted up a bit)
⢠EC: 1.6 (I slightly lowered it from 1.8 since the leaf tips showed slight over-fertilization)
⢠Water temperature: 19°C ā 21°C
š Observations & Challenges:
The plant was a bit picky last week. I noticed that the EC value rose while the water level dropped ā a clear sign that the nutrient solution was a tad too strong for her current thirst.
Visually, she's looking great: a rich, deep green and a very vital flower structure. I take the very slight "burnt tips" on the leaves as a signal to keep the EC at 1.6 now. That's the "Sweet Spot" where she works most efficiently without getting salt stress.
š§ What was done this week:
⢠Reservoir change: Completely fresh nutrient solution prepared.
⢠Monitoring: Daily pH check (currently manual, since the monitor needs to be calibrated).
⢠LST/Care: A few large fan leaves were strategically removed to improve light penetration to the lower buds and air circulation.

Der lehrreichste Teil dieses Grows war die späte Blütephase, in der die Pflanze ihre maximale Stoffwechselrate erreichte.
⢠Die pH-Herausforderung: In Woche 6/7 wurde die AK-47 zum āhungrigen Monsterā. Der pH-Wert stürzte durch die massive NƤhrstoffaufnahme innerhalb von Stunden von 6,2 auf 4,8.
⢠Die Lösung: Statt rein chemischer Korrektur habe ich die Karbonathärte (KH) durch Zugabe von ~25% lokalem Leitungswasser (Landshuter Hartholz-Wasser) erhöht. Dieser natürliche Puffer hielt den pH-Wert bis zur Ernte stabil bei 5,9.
⢠Werte bei Ernte: EC 1.48 | pH 5.9 | ORP/Redox: 380 mV (Indikator für eine perfekt sterile Wurzelzone).
⨠3. Licht-Effekt & Aroma (UV/IR Power)
Die Kombination aus den EVO-Chips und den Adlite UV/IR-Leisten war ein Gamechanger.
