PhinolaGreen Germination
It's time for another photoperiod grow, and since the Pheno Hunt Community Cup is currently happening in my neighborhood with the Orange Sherbet FF strain from Fastbuds, I've decided to grow a few other strains alongside the Pheno Hunt 😊
Royal Queen Seeds sent me Cosmic Cheddar F1, so I'm going to put it in a water bath to germinate hopefully 😊
Little update after 2 days: the seed hasn't popped in the water bath. I'm going to try again with a damp tissue, that worked for the Orange Sherbet FF. It's already starting off well again 🙄🤨😄

Cosmic Cheddar F1 is already on her way to her new home, and I've decided to make her a diary entry like the others, even though she's a week behind. I think it won't matter at all when we switch to flowering anyway.

Cosmic Cheddar F1 from Royal Queen Seeds is unfortunately lagging quite a bit compared to the others, but it's okay. I'm happy to have it in the run at all and that Royal Queen Seeds sent me a replacement seed, which worked out 😊🐰🍽️🥕

Hey, I'm not very creative at the moment, as you can tell for this project. I also asked in my community at home and now I have someone who will help me bring a bit of order to my chaos.
I hope I can get back to normal with the diaries in the coming weeks and wrap things up.
After I just couldn't focus on the project anymore and organized help from my community, we're stabilizing the plants with water first, then nutrients. Yesterday, all the ladies were trimmed back again and one was shortened, so we can actually see some light for this project. I currently have too much chaos in my personal life to take care of the photos properly, but I'm working on it, no worries, and I think I'll be back on track in 1-2 weeks. The main thing is, I get the plants to a conclusion with Phil.

This was the last week of growth, now we're switching to Bloom. I'm slowly gaining more confidence in the project and will probably start incorporating more individuality into the week's description next week.
Right now, it's just important to know that they're being stabilized again and are now switching to Bloom. 😊

Looks much better now since I've started giving nutrients again 😌
The plan is to stay in veg for another 3 weeks and then switch, until then this one, as well as all the other phenos, will be transplanted from the small pots into larger ones 😊

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to update last week, but here comes an update from the 5th week of flowering. The predatory mites against the thrips have been useless, 12 bags are hanging in the tent. Unfortunately, I couldn't and didn't want to use the Compo stuff during bloom either. Well, as you can see, the outbreak is unstoppable now. I already have a strategy for the harvest. I'm going to take everything down at once and then directly dispose of everything except the buds, and then it will be dried, and after that, isopropanol comes into play and scrub-a-dub-dub, you know what I mean 🧐😅🤭😄💚
They get nutrients every 5-6 days, that's what I've gotten used to. Oh, and you don't know this yet, the Greenception GCX5 PWR is out, and the VSFL430 from Vivosun has moved in. Currently running at 50% 🤭
Addition: it also said they are running at 24/0. They've actually been on 12/12 for 5 weeks now, so you can see how scatterbrained I've been lately ?🤨🌋😌

I chopped her today, I think she's ready. I didn't take any pictures of the harvest now, later after drying I'll give another report and take photos 😊💚
The first attempt didn't work out, RQS then sent me a replacement. The smell is very overpowering, unfortunately the whole grow didn't really go well and I'm glad it's over and I can do autos again 😄
Yield-wise, well, but she looked nice while growing.
Well, I'll definitely do the automatic F1s again in the future 😊
For germination, I can recommend the following:
Take a small jar with an airtight seal (I always use a small jar with a screw lid, like a mini jam jar, preferably smaller than larger...), put your seeds in there, then lightly fill the bottom with stale or filtered water. Just enough so that the seeds are half in the water and the other half is dry. Then add 1-2 drops of hydrogen peroxide solution (3%) to the jar, close the lid, and place the whole thing at 25-26°C. The hydrogen peroxide breaks down in the jar into water and oxygen, providing your seeds with enough O2. The closed lid ensures 100% RH and the warmth helps the metabolism in the seedling get going. With good seeds, you can expect to see a 1cm long root after 24 hours at best, but at least one seed should be opened with the root tip already showing. Tested multiple times. Best method. Period. :)
