Ayahuasca purple xThe Churchx Sticky"D"

Horst Normally, I have significantly fewer plants in the tent – this run with 10 plants is only happening because I wanted to use up my gift seed stock just for fun. A conscious free-run-for-fun, so to speak :) The seeds were soaked in osmosis water and directly planted in soil. Due to the parallel autoflower run, the seedlings initially received a bit too little light and stretched slightly, but they were able to stabilize quickly after the harvest. By week 3, all have arrived cleanly in the veg stage: healthy overall impression, even development, no problems. A Sticky D germinated later and is therefore slightly behind – but absolutely within the normal range. A short vegetative phase in 11-liter final pots is planned.

Horst Grow-Tag 28 – 21.02. (28 days since the seeds took a dive into the glass of water on 24.01.) The plants look overall healthy and vigorous. Due to a delayed delivery of the 9-L end pots, repotting only took place on 21.02. At this point, the flowering flip was already planned, but the delay has shifted everything slightly. The ladies will now get 2–3 days of rest after repotting, then it's straight into flowering – the tent is already well filled. The unknown Sticky-D genetics are showing very homogeneous and strong growth so far. Among the other strains, Barney’s Farm's Ayahuasca Purple stands out for its stable, structured growth. Substrate & Additives: Diatomaceous earth has been reworked into the substrate – as a preventive measure against possible larvae in the soil and as a source of silicon. First-time use: Mycorrhiza (Symbivit). It's significantly more affordable than many specialized cannabis products – a test run. Unfortunately, the fungi arrived too late for the germination phase. Fertilization: So far, no regular fertilization has been done. Only: B’cuzz Root Stimulator in the early phase, this week for the first time Advanced Hydroponics Micro. The first "real" fertilization with Advanced Hydroponics Tripart is planned for 1–2 weeks after repotting. The fresh soil currently still contains enough nutrients, so no early intervention is necessary. Environment & Early Conditions: At the beginning, the seedlings were still in the ongoing auto-run at the bottom of the tent and received a bit too little light – slight stretching was the result, but they caught up well. At night, there were minimal values around 21 °C in winter, with about 25 °C daytime temperature. Not critical, but a bit too much difference for young plants. The VPD is currently between 1.0 and 1.2, which is good. Under LED, a well-adjusted VPD is now noticeably beneficial. Watering Philosophy: The common "X liters per day" specification in many grow diaries doesn't fit my style. I water based on pot weight, not by calendar. When the pots are noticeably light, I water thoroughly – and only again when they are light once more. This creates no fixed amounts or intervals. The need fluctuates quite a bit – depending on VPD, development stage, repotting, leaf mass, etc. A rigid daily specification would not accurately reflect my grow – that's why I consciously avoid it.

Horst Grow-Tag 35 – Blütewoche 1 In dieser Woche wurden die Pflanzen in die Blüte (12/12) geschickt. Der Flip war aufgrund der verspäteten Umtopf-Aktion etwas später als ursprünglich geplant – entsprechend ist das Zelt mit 10 Pflanzen in 9-L-Töpfen inzwischen ziemlich gut gefüllt. Um dem entgegenzuwirken, wurde ein konsequentes Lollipopping durchgeführt. Durch die dichte Belegung fiel das diesmal recht straight aus, damit untenrum Ruhe entsteht und die Energie klar in die oberen Bereiche geht. Alle Pflanzen wirken weiterhin vital und stabil. Keine sichtbaren Mängel oder Stressreaktionen nach Umtopfen, Rückschnitt und Blüteumstellung. Düngung: Es wurde weiterhin nicht regulär gedüngt. Außnahme Advanced Hydroponics Micro. Die frische Erde liefert nach wie vor ausreichend Nährstoffe. Die geplante erste vollständige Düngung mit dem Tripart-System erfolgt voraussichtlich in 1–2 Wochen, je nach Entwicklung im Stretch. Klima: Nachts sinken die Temperaturen weiterhin gelegentlich auf etwa 21 °C. Nicht kritisch, aber die Differenz zu den Tageswerten bleibt spürbar. Insgesamt stehen die Pflanzen jedoch stabil da und zeigen keine negativen Reaktionen.

Horst Grow-Tag 42 – Flowering Week 2 Very slowly, the first signs of flowering are showing. Maybe it's because the previous run was with autoflowers, but subjectively, the switch to 12/12 feels a bit sluggish this time. On the other hand, the stretch is clearly picking up. Sticky D and The Church are growing vigorously, while the Ayahuasca Purple from Barney’s Farm couldn't quite keep up with the stretch. In this run, no net is used and no HST is done. It has been raised a bit to keep the canopy somewhat aligned. Fertilization: This week, there was finally a 50% nutrient solution according to the Advanced Hydroponics schedule. An exception remains Micro, which continues to be given according to the full schedule. Light: The lamp is now running at 70% power at about 35–40 cm distance. In my experience with the lamp, this is already a bit strong for this phase, but I want to consciously test how the plants react to slightly increased intensity. Plant Care: The pictures still show the state before defoliation. Shortly after, there was another significant thinning out since it has become very dense in the tent. Especially the Sticky D plants are developing unusually large leaves for this stage. My usual growing method is actually quite different, but since I want to keep all 10 plants this time, not sorting anything out and not using a net, the canopy is controlled through consistent lollipopping and targeted defoliation. Climate: During the dark phases, the temperature occasionally drops to 20–21 °C. So far, the plants are reacting inconspicuously to this, and there has been little to no fuss 😅 But overall, the climate continues to remain mostly within the desired range.

Horst Grow-Tag 49 – Flowering Week 3 Everything is going well so far, the plants look healthy and are continuing to grow vigorously. In this run, I deliberately didn't use a net and didn't top, to see again why I usually work differently. The result is pretty clear: I won't be doing another run without a net anytime soon. :D Plant Development Just before the photos, I defoliated again, as the tent has become very dense. In the pictures, the plants look a bit bare because of this, but that quickly balances out – after 1–3 days, everything is lush again. The Sticky D have clearly outpaced the more indica-dominant strains and are currently dominating the growth. The stretch is already quite significant in parts, but overall still manageable, though borderline. Despite the dense conditions and strong growth, all the plants look vital and stable. Fertilization & Water Currently fertilizing every 2–3 watering sessions with about 50% of the schedule (Advanced Hydroponics). Micro continues as per the schedule. In flowering, as usual, switched from CalMag to a magnesium-sulfur preparation (Bud Candy). Watering: 50% tap water / 50% osmosis water. Notes This run clearly reaffirms why I usually work with a net or other training methods. Without these measures, managing the canopy of many plants quickly becomes overwhelming. The weekly entries are currently a bit irregular, as I am also upgrading my tent technically. I'm setting up a small home server with Home Assistant, including dashboards and automations. This may become a separate part of the diary in the next run.

Horst Grow-Tag 56 – Flowering Week 4 The plants are still doing well, everything is running smoothly. The tent is currently in "Cruise Control" mode – there's not much active work to do at this stage. Plant Care Occasionally, I still do a little lollipopping, removing smaller bud sites that wouldn't get any light anyway. These would only produce airy flowers later, so it's better to direct the energy into the upper buds. I could be a bit more consistent with this, but I'm consciously holding back to avoid creating unnecessary stress – and to be honest, the time factor plays a role too. :D Light The lamp is now running at about 90% power. The intensity has been gradually increased so that the plants can slowly get used to it. Tech / Setup The new sensors for the planned smart setup are currently in testing mode. At the moment, nothing is being actively controlled – I'm first gathering data and checking stability before automations kick in. Conclusion of the Week Calm phase with no abnormalities. The plants are developing as expected, and the focus is currently more on observation than intervention.

Horst Flowering Week 5 – "Cruise Control" The plants look good so far. The Sticky D are progressing and are slowly but surely developing more and more buds. I'm currently fertilizing every second to third watering – depending on how the VPD behaves and what the plants need at the moment. The light is now running at 100%. The "Smart Home Grow" project is also progressing and is already on a good path. I've made some initial attempts – I've attached two pictures of my dashboard for that.

Horst Grow-Tag 63 – Flowering Week 6 The plants are still looking good, and for a run that was intentionally approached rather casually – little training, short veg, and also gifted seeds – the current state is absolutely fine. Plant Development It's now easy to see which direction the run is going. I particularly like the strain from the breeder in the area right now: super delicious smell, good resin, and overall just a very nice impression. Everything seems stable overall. There were no major issues this week, which is exactly what you want to see at this stage. Light The lamp is now running at 100%. This is now the maximum, and the plants are handling it well so far. Weekly Conclusion All in all, a good, calm week. Everything is running smoothly, the plants are doing their thing, and some buds are really developing character now – especially in terms of resin and aroma.

Horst Grow-Tag 70 – Flowering Week 7 Last week was overall rather uneventful, even though the plants showed a little bit of stress in between. Nothing dramatic, but enough to take a closer look. In the end, the impression remains positive: everything is still moving within the framework, and the run continues to be stable overall. Plant Development At this stage, there isn't something completely new happening visually every day, but the subtleties are becoming more apparent. The buds appear overall riper, denser, and have more presence than a few weeks ago. The slight stress was noticeable for a moment, but overall the plants have remained calm. This also shows that the foundation of the run is solid: not a perfect picture-book run, but a solid passage where the plants continue to cooperate well. You can really notice now, especially with the smell and the resin, that it's slowly moving into the more exciting final phase. Some buds now appear significantly more characterful and bring more of what you want to see in the end. Light The lamp continues to run at 100%. That hasn't changed, and overall the plants are still handling it well. Conclusion of the Week Not a week for big headlines, but also not one for worries. There was a bit of stress, but overall everything is still in the green zone. The plants are pushing through, the buds are continuing to mature, and the run remains on a good, relaxed course.

Horst Grow-Tag 77 – Flowering Week 8 This week really felt like we’re getting closer to the end phase. Overall, everything is continuing smoothly and steadily, but you can clearly tell that not all the plants are finishing at the same time. The Sticky D has really embraced autumn now. The colors are coming out beautifully, and combined with the scent, it’s really enjoyable right now. They smell really good and are increasingly looking like plants that are slowly making their way to the finish line. Ayahuasca Purple and The Church, on the other hand, don’t look like they’re finishing up quickly. To me, they seem like they still need about two to three weeks. That’s why I started to reduce the nutrients this week instead of going straight to just water. This way, they still get a little something, but not in full amounts anymore. In the last one to two weeks, it will just be pH-regulated water.
