Greenchopper All plants are settling in well and showing strong, healthy growth in 1-gallon containers. Environment is fully dialed and stable:
🌡️ Temps: ~77–78°F
💧 RH: ~69–70% at canopy
📈 VPD: ~0.9
☀️ PPFD: ~240–250
Roots are establishing, leaves are thickening, and posture is strong across all phenos. No signs of stress or deficiencies so far.
Currently running living soil in 1-gallon nursery pots, watering based on pot weight and plant demand. No bottled nutrients.
Main focus right now is building a strong foundation before transplanting into EarthBox SIPs.
More updates soon.

Greenchopper Week 2 Veg Update
Plants are settling in nicely and showing strong, balanced early structure. Internodal spacing is tight, leaf color is healthy, and growth is even across phenotypes so far.
Environment has been kept very stable:
• Temps ~76–77°F
• RH ~70–72%
• VPD ~0.8–0.9 kPa
• PPFD ~230–250 at canopy
No signs of stress, deficiency, or overwatering. Roots are clearly establishing and uptake is increasing gradually.
Currently focusing on:
• Maintaining stability
• Encouraging compact structure
• Monitoring pot weight and drybacks
• Preparing for upcoming transplant into EarthBoxes
No major interventions yet. Letting the plants do their thing.
So far, everything is on track.

Greenchopper 🌱 Transplant Day – EarthBox System Online
Today the plants officially moved into their final EarthBoxes.
Each root ball was treated with mycorrhizae and seated slightly proud to ensure clean soil-to-soil contact. The root structure looked healthy and well-developed, with strong lateral branching and no circling.
The EarthBoxes were pre-moistened ahead of time and were reading between 28–36 mbar at transplant. After a light perimeter watering (~500 mL), readings dropped only 2–3 mbar, confirming proper moisture distribution without oversaturation.
No reservoir fill yet.
I’m intentionally allowing the soil tension to rise naturally into the 80–100 mbar range before introducing the first 1-gallon reservoir charge. The goal is to encourage downward root exploration and activate the wicking system gradually rather than flooding the lower profile too early.
Environment remains stable:
• 75–76°F
• 74% RH
• VPD ~0.78 kPa
Plants appear calm with minimal transplant stress.
Next step will be adding a compost + worm casting mulch layer with clover to establish the living surface.
System is stable. Now we observe.

Greenchopper Week 4 – Structure Over Speed
This week was all about control and setting the foundation for flower. All plants were topped above the 6th node to standardize structure and shift growth from vertical dominance to lateral expansion. Lower growth at the first true node was cleaned up to improve airflow and focus energy upward. The canopy immediately felt calmer and more organized.
Pheno #3 continues to show strong dominance, but it’s now under control and ready to be guided outward. The 5-gallon plant is thriving and will be relocated next week, leaving four EarthBoxes to finish the run.
Environment remains steady with PPFD in the low–mid 300s and consistent soil moisture across the board. No deficiencies showing in the heavy living soil mix, so no top dress has been applied yet. BTI treatment was introduced to address fungus gnats, and sticky traps were reset to monitor progress.
The plan moving forward is two weeks of structured veg post-top, light bud clip training once recovery is confirmed, trellis installation around Day 10–12, and flip targeted for March 7. The focus remains quality first, with stretch helping to fill the canopy rather than forcing extra veg time.
Steady, intentional progress.
