Ganjin Welcome, my friends, to my new diary! 🌱💚 There is some change in my setup and approach to growing. I am only growing one plant at a time now, and that I'll do inside the VGrow. I am going to sell my AC Infinity tent because of space issues and also my lack of time. I want to commit to this hobby but can only allow myself to grow one plant, instead of three. That's why I am sticking with the VGrow. It's pretty small, exceptionally build and pretty nice to handle. Yeah, there can be a height issues, but I figured it out in the Jelly Donutz grow and will continue with that approach. But that's enough about the setup, let's talk about this grow. I chose the strain High Society from Compound Genetics. It was a really tough choice because I have so many promising genetics from very, very good breeders in the fridge. But since I can only grow one plant at a time, I needed to raffle what I grow next. And originally, the strain Ocean Marker from Robin Hood Genetics (THCTitan) won the raffle, but I wasn't really happy with the result for several reasons: 1. I already grew a strain from titan in my last grow and I really want to try different breeders, too. With limited grows or limited space, I just need to rotate a little bit. Maybe in my next grow I pop another seed from Robin Hood or Square One but for now, I wanted to use someone else's gear. 2. I want to try different types of terpene profiles. Ocean Marker would have been Gas+Candy+Fruit and I already grew this profiles in different combinations (Sour Zoda, Iced Up Cherries, Jelly Donutz..). I know that Permanent Marker and Ocean Fruit are completely different than the strains mentioned, but they're still in the same stratosphere, if you can understand where I am coming from. 3. High Society just was hard stuck in my head since I bought a pack of it. I don't really know why, but my stomach just told me every time: Grow this one next. So I ditched the raffle and just popped a High Society seed! This strain is a crossing of Cookie's Biscotti with Compound's Jet Fuel Gelato. I can expect variety when it comes to phenos, some leaning to the Biscotti and some leaning to the JFG. And that's a win/win for me, because I never tried Biscotti and I never tried a Gelato. And it's something very new for me. Yes, both have gas in them but both are also dessert strains. And I always wanted to try the nutty, buttery, toffee-like Biscotti and also the Ice Cream side of a Gelato. That's why it stuck in my head I guess, because it's just something completely new and exciting for me. The seed opened after less than 12 hours, which was very fast. I planted it inside a EazyPlug, as always and waited for 3 days. The seedling came out of the EazyPlug after just one day and today, the little seedling removed its shell (kinda) and opened up! This grow, I also change some other things up a bit. I will plant the seedling in the upcoming days into a solo cup with BioBizz Light Mix. After approximately 2 weeks, when everything goes well, I will transplant the plant into the 19L (5gal) end pot. My grow of the Sour Zoda inside this bigger pot went so much better than my last three grows inside 11L pots. I think the root zone just needs more space and more buffering soil to tolerate my water, which is very rich in minerals. In combination with the bigger pot, I also use the solid nutrient line from BioTabs! This should also help with the nutrient problems I had during my last three grows. We will see in the upcoming weeks how this new approach performs! Thank you for sticking around, let's have some awesome grows together this year! 💚

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 8 🌱 First week is over and it was a kinda good one. We see that she made big progress and looks just how she is supposed to with 7 days on the clock. The first three-fingered leafs are coming. But let me tell you, she was soooo mad about the transplantation on day 3 from the EazyPlug to the solo cup! 💀The rooting in the EazyPlug was good, I used a normal red cup like in my last grow just to not directly plant her into the 19L (5gal) end pot. But she instantly responded with decoloring of the leafs from the tips, which fortunately got better after 2 days. Now she is completely stable again with a lush green color. She got some scars from it tho, as you can see on her leafs. It was just a shock I guess, so I am not particularly looking forward to her repotting into the final pot. I mixed all the 20L of soil at once, just to have the end pot already prepared. I used the normal BioBizz Light Mix and spiced it up with 50g/10L Startrex, 50g/10L Silicium Flash and 1 tablespoon of Mycotrex for the transplantation hole. I didn't use an organic fertilizer tablet for the solo cup since it's not really needed and also didn't use Bactrex and Orgatrex yet. That I'll do in the end pot because the solo cup should have plenty of nutrients for the first 2 weeks. I watered the solo cup till saturation with tap water, root juice and epsom salt because of the bad CalMag-ratio of my local water. The soil is still moist, so I think that watering to saturation is even in a small cup like this not needed in the beginning. 💦 Watering: 0,2 L with pH = 6.2 💊 Fertilizer: Startrex, Silicium Flash, Mycotrex, Root Juice, Epsom salt 💡 Light: 200 PPFD at 30%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 21 🌱 Longer time no update, I am quite busy and continue to be busy for some weeks. But I still have enough time for the plant, just not for on time diaries. The grow is plagued with struggles, again. But this time, I have no idea what is wrong and also stopped worrying at all because I simply can't have a smooth grow. I have documented her growth over the time, which you can see in the photos. She makes progress but is not the fastest plant. Like, it really gets on your nerves when you're doing everything you can, from precise measuring of water, to careful waterings, to adjusting the light, to watch the VPD, so on. And the plant still has issues. The rusty spots are something new for me. If I couldn't guess better, it looks like Ca deficiency but that's literally impossible with my really mineral rich tap water. So I don't know, I'll just continue. The new growth always looks promising but after some time, the leafs start to get issues. I though I had it under control for 7 days now but today, the tallest fan leafs (the first with 5 fingers) started having issues, too. I have never seen a problem like these leafs have, so I do not know how to react to it. I watered her like she needed. I always waited until the soil was almost completely dry. She got 1L when I repotted her on day 13 with Bactrex and Orgatrex according to the BioTabs plan. In ger 5gal end pot are 3 tablets from BioTabs, too. After that she got 1,5L 4 days later. And today, 4 days later, she got 2L of water. That makes 4,5L in total in her first 8 days in the pot. 💦 Watering: 4,5 L with pH = 6.5 💊 Fertilizer: Bactrex, Orgatrex, Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 450 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 28 🌱 Damn, this plant made unreal progress in the last week. Kinda ridiculous, considering her rough start. I topped her last thursday, on day 24 of veg. She responded very, very well with an instant boost of the side branches. Her illness is also gone, all leafs are looking more healthy than I have ever seen in person. Now the soil seems to have stabilized itself and the BioTabs nutrients are kicking in. Beautiful to look at. Her fan leafs are also the biggest ones ever for me and with no signs of any nutrient related stress. I still removed them to boost light penetration to the side branches. This time it really broke my heart tho, because they were just the most beautiful leafs ever. Really loved the last week and I am excited again for the future of this beautiful plant. This time, I gave her 2 more branches. So I topped one node higher and try to lollipop pretty nicely to just have 8 main branches with no more sides what so ever. Just 8 branches of big buds, that's the goal. I watered her with another 2L on day 24, too. But she hasn't gotten anything since then because I pre-watered her on that day. The soil was not dry from the watering on day 22 but I was on vacation for 2 days. I wanted to make sure that she does not dry out. I will wait now one more day and feed her tomorrow, on day 29 with 3L. That makes a total of 5L since last weekly update. 💦 Watering: 5 L with pH = 6.5 💊 Fertilizer: Just water with epsom salt 💡 Light: 450 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 37 🌱 Sorry for the late update, I needed to skip a week! I took photos tho so you can see the plant from some days ago, the pictures are labeled accordingly. She made amazing progress. An absolute beautiful plant, even the lower leafs are pitch perfect. I am so in love with the BioTabs nutrients because normally in all my other grows, older leafs got eaten up from the corners after some time, probably because of not enough nutrients at the right time. But with BioTabs, everything seems to be perfect (except from the start). The only thing I notice is that some new leavs are getting bright tips. But without a crispy burned follow up so I just assume that this is a trait from this specific strain. The plant doesn't really seem to bother and after some time, it also tends to grow itself out (if you look at the bigger, older leafs). Because of her big improvement, I want to switch the lights to 12/12 right now. So this is the very last update on the vegetative phase. Tomorrow marks day 1 of flower! She got 3L of water with 1g Bactrex on 10th march and 4L of plain water (only some epsom salt) on the 15th. This makes 6L in total since the last update. In the flowering phase, I will give nutrients according to the BioTabs sheme. Which means: 10ml/L of Bio NPK 5-8 in week 2 of flower and some Bactrex and Orgatrex in week 3. 💦 Watering: 6 L with pH = 6.5 💊 Fertilizer: Bactrex, Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 550 PPFD at 75%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 4 🍁 First days of flower have past and the stretch has begun. I am in awe of this plant. She is ridiculously beautiful and 100% the healtiest and prettiest plant I have grown. I am just praying that the soil with BioTabs continues to perform this amazing because if it does, the buds on this thing will be crazy. She has this weird phenomenon when growing her leafs, that yellow tips, that turn green at the very end (which I have documented in the last two pictures). At first I was worried but now that I have realised that this must just be her genetics, I think it looks really cool! She is really praying to the lights. Even the absolute lowest leafs in the shade are perfectly healthy, there is not a single one that started to get ugly. I have never seen that before. I even forgot to defoil those leafs before flipping to 12-12 because they're just there on autopilot, which led me to stop checking on them. She got 4,5 L of water today with epsom salt. It was the first watering since the one mentioned in last update, on 15th march. Before flipping to 12-12 4 days ago, I lollipopped her 8 main branches completely, which means that I only kept their upper side branches. I will lollpipop the plant again after day 21 of flower, to completely trash the popcorn buds. 💦 Watering: 4,5 L with pH = 6.4 💊 Fertilizer: Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 700 PPFD at 80%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 9 🍁 We are officially in the second week of flower. The plant made amazing progress by stretching to over 50 cm. I just hope that she does not get as tall as the Jelly Donutz because that would be problematic considering the taller pot size. But for now, it seems tameable with more vigorous side branching and tight internodial spacing. It let's me guess that she won't get as lengthy. I really appreciate the nutrients from Bio Tabs. She stems are really fat thanks to the Silic Flash dry amendment. Their fertilizer line in general seems to make a perfect job, combined with the 19 L pot size. Every leaf is healthy, chunky and without any burned tips. I repeat myself every week but it just amazes me that even the lowest leafs are looking perfectly fine. In all my other organic grows with a different nutrient brand, that simply wasn't the case. I always had the plants eating themselves up from the lowest leafs to get nutrients back. It just makes me happy to be able to grow this finicky genetic (High Society tends to be a diva) that perfectly, actually with ease. But let's not get cocky and continue to observe her growth closely. The first signs of flowering have also been spotted. Her first calyxes are formed and the very top of the branches gets very dense as usual. Like I said, she seems to get a tight internodial spacing which you can observe well on her tallest branch (pic. 5). But in general, I am very impressed by her growth structure. Not only are the plant's side branches very thick and robust, they are also pretty close in height. And that's just with one single LST session including Bud Clips and training stakes. She seems to grow bushy on her own which makes cultivating this plant even easier (I am getting cocky again). Since the second week of flower has begun, she got her first PK boost with the Bio PK 5-8 fertilizer. I have her 10 ml diluted in 4.5 L of water with epsom salt, pH adjusted to 6.6. This is her first feeding since the update 5 days ago. If she continues to drink 4.5 L every 5 days, she will be a heavy feeder in mid flower I'd guess. But for now, let's watch how she reacts to the nutrients. The light intensity gets increased every two days until 100 % are reached. We are now at 93 %, so two more days until maximum intensity. 💦 Watering: 4.5 L with pH = 6.6 💊 Fertilizer: Bio PK 5-8, Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 650 PPFD at 93%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 14 🍁 Yeah, about that stretch.. she is also a lenghty plant. She stretched from 30 cm (bend down!) to 70+ cm straight up. With means she more than doubled her size in every way possible. Which became a problem as you can see. Some leafs have very minor light burns and because of that, I needed to reduce the intensity from 100 % to 85 %. I maybe need to decrease it even further if she doesn't stop with it. My hopes are that with the lower intensity, she continues with her amazing journey. It's odd tho, that I have two plants after another in the VGrow that are just incredible stretchers. I just hope I reacted instantly enough but unfortunetely, I can't supervise her in the next 4 days because I am on a travel. She will explode in bud sites till then, I am sure. She got 5 L water today, with 1 g of Bactrex and 20 ml of Orgatrex. This is the beginning of her 3rd week of flower and she hasn't got any Microorganism since the beginning of flower. This will give the soil a boost for the upcoming weeks! 💦 Watering: 5 L with pH = 6.4 💊 Fertilizer: Bactrex, Orgatrex, Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 850 PPFD at 85%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 21 🍁 I am quite mad to be honest. This plant just exploded further and is not under control in the small VGrow. I am mad because in this grow, everything worked perfectly. I never had a plant this beautiful, the nutrients from Bio Tabs really did their job. But who would have thought that this plant basically quadrupled in size. I only veged her for 36 days and she got way too big. Unfortunately, I needed to remove some burned head buds. 3 stems needed to be cut, to be specific. The other branches needed some supercropping because they were drilling themselves into the lights and into the ceiling of the VGrow. Very, very unfortunate. That's some major stress that the plant experienced too early in flower which means that I think I removed some balls. I simply cannot have a chill grow, can I? On the positive side, the strain still performs well. The bud sites are already everywhere, she is a massive yielder for sure. And there is already frost coming up. I am sooooo fucking mad that she had to stretch too far because otherwise, I am sure that this plant would be phenomenal. Now I need for future grows all of your advice to stop plants from stretching too far. She got 4.5 L of plain water with epsom salt two days ago, on day 19. That's were I removed the branches and bend the other ones down, too. On top of that, I removed some minor side branches in from all branches and some leafs. I still did not lollipop her entirely because she went through so much stress in the last week, I really want to remove stuff time by time. So she will get much less bulky in the upcoming week when the lollipopping is completed. ☀️ // Day 24 🍁 The soil was dry again and she got 4.5 L of water, again with the Bio PK 5-8 booster. Same concentration of 10 ml diluted in those litres of water. That makes a total of 9 L in this weeks update. 💦 Watering: 9 L with pH = 6.4 💊 Fertilizer: Bio PK 5-8, Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 500-900 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 28 🍁 This is the beginning of the 5th week of flower and we made very good progress. The plant handled the needed supercropping excellently. All branches survived it and kicked back. The head buds have started to form and are getting really big. This genetic is definitely a huge producer within the right setup. Unfortunately, she is still way too tall for the VGrow to make nice photos. I need to take them with an iPhone because there is just no place for a Nikon inside or rather my hands do not get into the VGrow with the camera to take photos. So I can only bless you with bud pics from an iPhone 15 Pro camera which still should be enough. This strain starts to form really, really frosty buds. And is still healthy with no nutrient related issues whatsoever. There are some burned leaf tips but that was from the light burn before the supercropping and I just didn't remove the affected leafs. I still can't get my head around that his plant stretched to over 120cm with just 37 days of vegetative phase. The highest point of this plant was 30cm tall. That's a stretch of more than 4x. Ridiculous. She started to drink faster because the soil was bone dry after just 4 days, instead of 5 days. And I think I could have watered her yesterday. This just means that we're still at the peak of the bud development just before the swelling phase, which should start in the next 14 days. The trichome density and the bud size is already remarkable. So I think she will produce nice golf balls as soon as the swelling begins. ☀️ // Day 34 🍁 She got 4.5 L with epsom salt two days ago, on day 32 of flower. Some minor adjustments on the branches were done, but that's it. Overall she got 9 L since the last update. I think that the bulking phase is starting because the humidity is much easier to handle as of now. She started to transpire less, at least that's what I am thinking. And with less transpiration comes the ripening of the flowers. 💦 Watering: 9 L with pH = 6.4 💊 Fertilizer: Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 700-1000 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 35 🍁 Into the next week! Nothing really to report since I managed to dial her in into the tight growing space. All main branches are bend and pushed to the corners to avoid too much light. The mid section of the stems are directly under the LEDs so they are getting also really fat, as they should. I think in combination with the main buds, this plant will yield a lot in this tiny space with that fucked up stretch. So that is definetely a win in my books. Some leafs are getting darker and some buds are developing purple hues, but not much. I did not expect any color from it besides some darker leafs from the Biscotti side but I take it. It's one more month to go and the buds are already huge. Can't wait to see them in their fattened end state. The plant got 4.5 L of water again, with her last shot of 10 mL PK booster according to the plan (Week 6 of flower). Nutrient wise this grow is an absolute pleasure. She is healthy and thriving. I kept some leafs down in the shadow, just to observe them. No deficiencies whatsoever. Amazing soil and if this plant keeps up like that and the genetics provides what it promised, these buds could be my best work to date. But don't count your chickens before they hatch, or something like that, I don't know many english proverbs. haha ☀️ // Day 39 🍁 The plant was watered with 4.5 L, as usual. Just epsom salt in that. That makes 9 L overall this week, which is still a lot. Hopefully the results will be fat, beautiful and potent buds! 💦 Watering: 9 L with pH = 6.5 💊 Fertilizer: Bio PK 5-8, Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 700-1000 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 43 🍁 Hello my friends, we are approaching the final weeks. If the 9 weeks are a reliable prediction from Compound, then this will take 3 more. But I take all the time ithe plant needs since I am doing a growing break over the summer. It just get's too hot in this region to grow peacefully indoors. So there is no stress for me to finish her quickly to go on. If she needs 10 weeks, that's fine for me. The buds are starting to mature. But I mean just slightly, as you can clearly see that she needs at least 3 more weeks. The frost production is superb, she has no deficiencies and the size of the buds is very satisfactory. The leafs are starting to get a real deep green color just like they're supposed to, if you look at the pictures from Compound. The only thing I can complain about is the smell of the plant. It seems very unspecific. If I rub on the trichomes, I get some freshness and some spicyness, which you could describe as dank & "gassy", but that's basicially how most weed smells at the beginning. I don't know if I just had a really good phenotype of the Jelly Donutz in my last grow but that plant reeked right from the beginning how it was supposed to. The whole box smelled like baked goods, milkshakes and dessert sweetness. I mean, there are still some weeks to go and there still is the cure to go through but I hoped to get at least a hint on what this strain will have to offer. Some real gas, some gelato cream or some biscotti dankness would be appreciated but for now, there just is nothing like that. We'll see how she evolves in the upcoming weeks. The plant got 4.5 L of water today with epsom salt. She is still getting water every 4 days, which is totally fine. I mean in the end, the more she drinks, the more she evolves and the fatter she gets, right? ☀️ // Day 47 🍁 Got the usual 4.5 L of water with epsom salt. Nothing to report, smooth sailing. She drinks a total of 9 L like every week. 💦 Watering: 9 L with pH = 6.3 💊 Fertilizer: Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 700 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 52 🍁 We have reached the ripening phase. Her leafs have started to fade and the buds are getting darker. She was dry for one day because I was travelling, some leafs have some issues on the tips, but just a small portion of them. So I don't think it was the lack of water. Because then, all leafs would be affected but that's a non issue. The plant looks healthy and fine, I won't feed her anymore until the end. My rooms reeks like a skunk which I did not expect from this strain. But I immedietly smelled it in the room after beeing gone for 3 days. The environmental conditions in the tent were too moist for 3-4 days this week because of some rainy days in my area. That lead to some hours with 66 % humidty inside the VGrow on several days but I have very good air flow and for the last 2 days, the humidity was below 50 %. I don't think that I'll have any high humidity related issues on the buds. Today she got a normal watering, as usual. 💦 Watering: 4.5 L with pH = 6.5 💊 Fertilizer: Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 700 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 59 🍁 We're appproaching the last weeks of this plant. The buds have swolen up and she continues to build new calyxes and is getting a nice fade. Didn't expect that much purple in her. To counter the continuing burn of the leaf tips, she got some PK with the water. Normally she doesn't need much in this state but I want her to stay beautiful and the soil didn't get any nutrients for 3-4 weeks now. I think she needs about 67-70 days. That means she will come down in the upcoming 2 weeks. She got 9 L since the last update. When it comes to the smell, I can't really tell that there is any Gelato or Biscotti in there, at least not before cure. I get a really strong scent of gas and skunk from her. Really, really skunky. I did not expect that but I like it. Still looking forward to her curing. ☀️ // Day 63 🍁 She got 4.5 L as usual, no PK just pH adjusted water. Technically this watering counts for week 10 of flower, that's why I do not add that to the 9 L she got in week 9. But I want to wait some days for a new weeklx update (probably the last one) and then, the 4.5 L will be added to the overall weekly watering of week 10. 💦 Watering: 9 L with pH = 6.3 💊 Fertilizer: Epsom Salt, Bio PK 5-8 💡 Light: 700 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 72 🍁 Hey buddies, I skipped a week because nothing really happended. And she is still not done on day 72, which makes me kinda nervous because of the ever rising temperatures outside and high temperature in the VGrow starts to bother me. I even got a small thrip infection now at the end. I really want her to be done but she is still shooting pistils everywhere. I reduced her watering a bit. She gets about 3 L every 3 days. I want the soil to re-dry completely to stress her a little bit to maybe get her done faster. But I am not depriving her of any water, I just give her about 20 % less. ☀️ // Day 75 🍁 Got a little more than 3 L again. I also reduced the lights-on time to 11 hours. Less light hopefully signalises the plant to mature instead of kicking out more and more calyxes. 💦 Watering: 6+ L with pH = 6.3 💊 Fertilizer: Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 700 PPFD at 70%

Ganjin ☀️ // Day 84 🍁 Hey my friends! This is gonna be the last update on her until harvest because I really want to show major updates. She still does not look 100% finished but I don't want to wait toooooo much longer. When I harvest her, it will be like 12-14 weeks of flower. Insanity. That's like a pure sativa but with dense buds, so I hope there is no mold in there. I don't know why she looks the same for 3 weeks now, but it is how it is. Maybe it's the weather because it got colder in the last 8 days. 23°C should still be enough and not slow her that much down. I will update this diary with some better photos and maybe some more text over the next month and will make the final review in about 6 weeks after harvest. With drying, curing and more than one vaping session, I really want to have a definite opinion on this strain. That's why it will take some time but that's alright. I really want to be patient after all these months of work. My next grow will start in August or September, after the summer break! So I just hope that this plant finally finishes up in the next 1-2 weeks. I am quite exhausted because she doesn't stop drinking. haha I reduced the light intensity from 70 % to 40 % to further signal the plant that she is allowed to ripen up now and stops pushing out more calyxes. Maybe it helps, maybe not. Have you guys ever had a modern indica-leaning or hybrid genetic that needed this long to flower?? 💦 Watering: 4 L with no pH adjustments 💊 Fertilizer: Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 400 PPFD at 40%

@Stony_German, uhh yeah. Vielen Dank.

It says on the info bit that you are using those bio tabs? What are they like? I’m thinking about using some for an outdoor project just as a test, but I’ve personally never used them
Ganjin
Ganjin commented4mo ago
@PersonalSmok3s, it's my first time using them, so I can't really tell how this is performs with my bad water (in terms of growing Cannabis, drinking it is really good haha). But for now, I like this a lot. Dry amendments are just funny to use, it's quite meditative to mix the soil with it. And in theory, it should be more stable than liquid fertilizers because of less EC spikes. If you grow with RO water, you shouldn't have my problems tho. So for you, it's maybe even easier. If you look at other diaries (CannarianGrow for example) who use this BioTabs brand, you see what ridiculous results are getting produced with it. Insane frost, insane colors, insane easyness. And Mia from BioTabs @Mia_BIOTABS here on grow diaries is also very helpful and nice. So I can definetly recommend to at least trying them out!
