My very first grow. 6 days after planting right now and the girls seem to be off to a great start. I'm going to be doing tons of learning as I go considering this is my first grow attempt - comments and feedback welcome! The girls are in FFOF soil, sitting 24 inches below a Mars Hydro TS1000 (150W draw from the wall). Ready for week 2!!

The girls are doing well, were just at the end of week two, ready to begin week three. As you may see, the plants are recovering from overwatering on my part (at least that was my suspicion/diagnosis). Otherwise everything is going great, they are starting to put off a pleasant weedy aroma which is nice. They were fed a minute amount of nutrients which seem to have been well tolerated. Soon I will probably begin a proper veg nutrient cycle as the plants continue to grow, I have been very cautious regarding any feeding this early especially given the FFOF soil being used as my medium.

Just nearing the end of Week 3. Earlier this week the plants were transplanted into 8" pots. They seem to be liking their new homes. Also added this week was an additional light in preparation for flower, and also since the plants are getting bigger I feel the single light was no longer adequete to distribute enough light across all 5 plants. I've added a 250W(actual draw) LED unit with 5 50W COBs. This brings the total up to 400W of LED lighting. Onto week 4😀

Well into week 4 now. The girls are growing strong, however a few of my plants are seeing bleached/whitened/burnt tips that are curling down. If anyone is aware of what this looks like, please feel free to chime in!! Otherwise, the girls have been moved into 5 gallon fabric pots, where they'll remain until harvest. Two of the plants were topped today, the remaining 3 will be topped within the next week. ALSO, no nutrients were fed this week as I suspect I may be over fertilizing. Very happy with the progress made so far!

Hi Guys, can anyone diagnose the problem I’m experiencing? Seen in the third pic, I have leaf tips curling down with white/yellow tips on all the new growth. This is present on 3 plants, and on all plants the leaf tips are curling down, even if not white/yellowing tips yet.

Hi @JakeTheGrower! You overfed your plants, take it easy now and only give nutrients when the plants are asking for it, it's always easier to fix a slight deficiency than to recover from a slight toxicity. In your situation I would flush the medium for a few days with only plain pH'd water, then see how it goes. If the burnt tips have stopped on new growth and if the plant looks happy again, go back to nutrients with half of the recommended doses. Burnt tips won't recover but you should see healthy new growth. Hope this will help, keep us updated and happy growing! 👊

This will be the start of Week 5 from seed boys and girls. Everything is going great thus far. I've been watering only with Ph'd water to combat some previous overfeeding- no nutrients. Otherwise everything is going to plan. The girls are sucking up tons of water and looking good. Also, all 5 girls have now been topped. I'll make an update towards the end of week 5. Cheers!

Hi guys, entering into the 6th week from seed. The girls have seriously bulked up over the past few days, but im getting very concerned as the plants are all taking a turn for the worse. New growth is looking gnarly and im having all sorts of issues with canoeing and yellowing leaves. I'm hoping the community can provide some feedback as im afraid things are only going to get worse.

Hi guys, we're into the first week of flowering now. The girls have bounced back tremendously from some overfeeding seen in previous weeks. They've also stretched out a TON. You may notice only 3 plants now instead of 5 - two were moved outside to due the lack of space in the tent, and the two outside will continue to veg as long as mother nature allows. So for the rest of the grow I will only be tracking the indoor girls for simplicity's sake! Super excited and cant wait to get to harvest. OH ALSO - I've been using no added nutrients since the overfeeding. The FFOF has proven to have been more than sufficient for the plants. They haven't been fed in WEEKS now, and are showing no signs of deficiencies. I will SLOWLY reintroduce flowering nutes in the next week or 2.

Hi Guys, week 2 of flower. I've been dealing with ongoing issues of both overfeeding and nitrogen deficiency somehow. The other day I took the girls outside and did a thorough flush. Hoping that helps sort out the issues I've been experiencing. Otherwise the girls are still doing ok and flower is going well! With the AC on (it's summer in Canada) my basement, where the tent is located) has gotten quite cold. So i've added a heater. Now I'm seeing 25/26 C lights on, and 22 C lights off.

Hi guys, I really appreciate the feedback and for taking the time to respond. For these sorts of issues it can be tough for a new grower to identify, so your experience and feedback is most appreciated. The girls are being given PH'd water with no nutes for the time being. I will report back on the results!

That is called the claw and it's a sign of over feeding. Stop all feeding and it will sort itself out in no time. Let the plant feed itself fin the soil, resume feeding only when you see signs of deficiency, it will take weeks before the plant consume the soil nutrients
