Game of Clones

Gummi_Ingo Extreme bondage with some topping and removing small shoots. Clones were made from the last grow, before switching to flower. They were in a separate tent.

Gummi_Ingo a nice canopy has formed, ready to flip. But then, my lamp died.

Gummi_Ingo the plants had to be flipped back to veggie state and survive under 60W backup lamp for 3 weeks. They produced tons of leaves in that time. Luckily, the lamp was repaired for free by Sanlight and works again. Here you see them after hours of clearing out the undergrowth. They are still a bit stressed.

Gummi_Ingo 2nd week of flowering, hairs are visible. They are still stressed and suffer from over- and underfeeding. I kept them on a bit of a diet on purpose after heavy trimming and defoliation. Now they seem to need a lot of N so they will get some mineral fertilizer. Next week, they will receive flowering phase fert mixture.

Gummi_Ingo new shoots look nice and green, the old leaves did not recover. bud development looks alright so far.

Gummi_Ingo 5 weeks after flipping, I did some defoliation here and there. The lower leafs on all of them had more or less died, I guess the 3 weeks under low light and restricted nutrient had caused some N, K and Mg deficiency. Anyway, the tops look fine but also not overwhelming. I hope for more. Will carefully start adding PK13-14 to the feed at low dosage. I stopped adding CalMag since one week now. Smell increased notably.

Gummi_Ingo over 6 weeks since flipping, they are getting fatter, bud bevelopment is slowing down. As always the clones seem to go through the flowering cycle a bit faster, but it is also a lot warmer now than 4 months ago. I plant with harvest after 8-9 weeks of flowering, depending on trichome colors. No more PK 13-14 for now. Rainbow melon gets inspected for bananas, so far i found none. I hope that last time she had just reacted to cold stress.

Gummi_Ingo 7 weeks since flipping. They put on more weight. Smell has intensified, I have to swap the filter after this run. Lowered the lamp a bit. I decided to give add a small dose of PK13-14 again for this week. No bananas yet 👊 Next week I will add 2 more fans to increase airflow.

Gummi_Ingo 8 weeks of flowering now. this time, pics with the lights off. Clear winner in resin coverage is Eyeballz. I think I leave them another week. But the cinderella is ripe, had to remove a bid of budrot on one of the tops. The sugar leaves on the top have amber trichomes as it seems. the lower ones are still clear. I might take her down already and let the rest mature. From this week on they only get pH adjusted water

Gummi_Ingo 9 weeks after flipping they were all cut down over easter holidays. I watered with pH 6.5 water this week and then let them dry out for 3 days, last 2 days until monday with the lights off. Cinderella fell first, because of a small bit of budrot in the top. The only budrot case in this grow. Dry sunny spring weather makes a huge difference, even indoors. The heavy lollipopping payed off with that one, much nicer flower structure. Good result for a mostly sativa, and i like the terps. Overripe pineapple is spot on. But they are not nearly as dense and resinous as as the eyeballz or gorilla. Eyeballz was cut down next, fully matured at this time. The clones had a bit of a more open bud structure than the mother plant. But the nuggets feel compact as before. I did almost nothing to them in terms of lollipopping. This is a lazy mans dream. I am very curious to see how they are after drying. Rainbow Melon stayed small and did its thing without much issues. I had fished one of the clones out of the trash bag, after having second thoughts. The mother had grown bananas. The clones has zero bananas, so I suspect that to be a reaction to cold and humidity stress. But compared to the gorilla and the lemonpaya, she is my least favorite. Not bad at all, but not outstanding. Lemonpaya terps are really amazing, hard to describe. fresh plant has a sharp ripe papaya and berry aroma with musky floral notes. They had a bit more small leaves and crappy small bud on the bottom. I admit I was lazy because they were in the back of the tent and the top buds looked so awesome that I just let them do their thing. Should have lollipopped them more. Gorilla Melon was the biggest yielder last time and probably is this time too. I also did not lollipop the two clones much. Those are hands off. Not as crazy resinous as the eyeballs, but still good bud structure. Terps are much more moderate than the lemonpaya. A bit of glue, a bit of sweet musky floral "ripe weed" smell. Not a big stinker but really sticky. I will update in a few weeks with a yield report. After this grow, I really think about making changes to my setup. Maybe some side panels to increase lower bud formation. Also I am increasingly frustrated with the amount of flies and thrips in the growshop soil and might test hydro. Maybe just going full cocos in the next run with a drip system. Or maybe DWC. 😈😈😈

Gummi_Ingo After hanging in the dark with all ventilation off, they are dry enough to cure in jars now.

Gummi_Ingo Lemonpaya was more fluffy this time, I think her clones were just not as healthy and I did not defoliate and lollipop her enough.

Gummi_Ingo Both clones finished just under 30g with mostly compact frosty bud. Very easy strain.
