Budette_Botanics Northern lights have a super hard shell, so I thought soaking before the paper towel germination method would be best.. however after 4 days (one of which she was soaking in water) she still hadn’t cracked.. I did an intervention and within 6hrs she was ready to plant. I think the intervention may have saved her life, that was one very tough shell & membrane! On day 4 growing very well.

Budette_Botanics My first auto grows, and addicted already. I have noticed slight clawing up at the tips of her leaves, any ideas as to why? All advice welcomed 🙏 I was thinking airflow? I’ve adjusted that.. now we wait and see if that’s the cure 🌱

Budette_Botanics I am currently growing her next to a strawberry & Banana auto, that is 3 days in front. They are both growing completely different, s/b is growing tall and n/l looks a lot shorter and bushier.. it will be interesting to see how they both finish. Thanks for taking a look 🤘🏼💚

Budette_Botanics It’s been a slow week with this one, she showed deficiencies in one of her nodes, so we’ve started feeding nutrients a week earlier than planned.. a few days in from her first lot of nutrients and she does seem to be responding well. I upped her light by 10% this week and she responded very well, so hopefully she is a late bloomer.. time will tell.
Thank you for watching her progress, it really does mean a lot. Happy growing 💚🌱

Budette_Botanics Much better week of growth, applied some LST, which helped a lot. The net has helped continue to help the light reach the new growth, and also even out the canopy. She was getting quite over crowded, a lot of leaves were shading the new nodes, and tucking leaves was doing more harm than good.. so we had a defoliation. Hopefully that will help going forwards. I’m very intrigued to see what I end up with come harvest, it feels like it could go either way at this moment. Time will tell!

Budette_Botanics She seems to responding well to the net, and defoliating. I have taken quite a few leaves from both this week. Hopefully it won’t stress her out too much, it was much needed. The leaves were shading nodes, and crowding each other. We will see how the week progresses. She has been very petite throughout, but this last week I have notice she is starting to have a growth spurt. I wasn’t convinced it would happen with this one, but she’s on it! She had a rough start, so how ever it goes I’m curious to see how she ends. No deficiencies to note (touch wood) she has been quite resilient in that sense, where as her neighbour s/b has been battling potassium deficiency. Fed the same, but they really are worlds apart.
Thank you for taking an interest 💚 Happy growing everyone 💚🌱

Budette_Botanics She has grown a little this week, more than I expected. But still she is tiny compared to her neighbour. Nice little pom-poms forming, and she’s going through feed 3x’s faster than she ever has. Still doing well on the deficiency front, still had no issues at all with that. Still plenty of time though, but hopefully she stays healthy. Still interested to see what happens with this one, she has taught me a lot if nothing else. I hope you are all having a great week 💚🌱

Budette_Botanics A week of regretting I hadn’t defoliated more before flower stage. I’m currently growing 2 autos, totally different strains and they are both bushes.. something I will change next run. She has grown a lot more, and is showing more signs of flower stage.. hoping she will have a good harvest, but again I’m stunned she has done so well. She had a rough start, and as grow quite slowly compared to her neighbour. This week she is catching, and I’ve notice on the timelapse she is still growing. She as had no issues with deficiencies up to now, unlike her neighbour. You can tell one is sativa & the other is indica, they are growing so differently. This is the first time I have grown autos, and different strains. Still going with the feed, and all seems okay. Feeding roughly 2l every 2ish days, some times 3 if I feel they need to dry out a bit. See you next week.. Hopefully she is doing marvellous & has some buds! Happy Easter 💚🌱

Budette_Botanics End of week 7, no issues to report. She’s shown no deficiencies throughout, hopefully that continues. There is definitely a smell coming from the tent, but the strawberry banana is the over powering smell I’m getting, so it’s hard to tell how much odour she’s giving off. She has randomly grown one very large branch, in a matter of days the one branch has become the tallest in the tent, being an inch taller than s/b. The buds are starting to join, how much of an harvest I will get I genuinely have no clue. I’ve never grown autos, and she’s been so small throughout. This entire grow has been a learning curve, and I started with that mindset. I’ve had a few lessons, but I’m still ready to grow more autos once these ladies have finished. Or maybe sooner if I get time to set my new grow tent up.
I hope you are all having a great grow week 🌱💚

Budette_Botanics I think she has finally finished growing, she is now the tallest in the tent. This week her buds have started to stack a lot more, but still quite a bit of work to do. I think she will harvest a good 2-3 weeks after her neighbour, which I had hoped for.
The smell she is giving off is very pine, forest like mixed with spicy notes. Many of her hairs have turned amber over the last few days, she’s starting to have the classic northern lights looks, and smell. Quite excited to see how she finishes, she’s been so resilient. I hope that continues.
I’m still slowly defoliating a few leaves every few days, not that you can tell 😅 I’m sure most would have given up on this seed once she wouldn’t open, but I am glad I intervened. Hopefully she finishes strong over the next coming weeks.
I hope you’re all having a great 420, and an even better grow week 🤘🏼🌱💚

Budette_Botanics I’ve notice a discolouration on her leaf tips, the first time. To be fair it may be my upping the bio bloom, or the light.. it’s not really concerning me too much, sure she’s already moved on from it ha ha. Still feeding every 2-3 days, and she does seem to be stacking the buds. Hopefully that continues. I’ve stopped defoliating now, unless it’s a must. Think the air flow is okay. I have installed a fan that is on the under canopy. The weather here has been quite warm, found myself trying to lower the temp during lights off & on. Loads of fun 🙄 still think we have at least 3 weeks to go, let’s see what next week brings.
Happy growing everyone 🌱💚

Budette_Botanics I have noticed a lot of lightening to her leaves towards the end of this week, so I will be keeping an eye on that. She is still fattening up the buds, and I suspect it could be another few weeks before her trichomes are ready. Time will tell. Some buds are maturing faster than others, I think once I move her neighbour out (which will be in the next week or so) this will give her the light to finish the lower bud sites. She smells amazing, very pine & spicy notes. I cannot wait to see how she finishes.
Happy growing 💚🌱

Budette_Botanics Quite an uneventful week really, we are getting closer to harvest, but judging by her trichomes she has at least a week.. I’m hoping so anyway. I have a strawberry banana auto just about to be harvested, I wanted to do them separately. Time will tell how that pans out. I was concerned about the fading tips, but I do think this is the fade and not a nutrient/ph issue.
Fed today, and just letting her do her thing. She smells amazing, I actually prefer her scent to the sweet strawberry smell. (Which don’t get me wrong is lush) but northern lights smells old school, really skunk weed smell. Just lovely.
I’m sure she will be here for another week, so let’s see what next week brings. Thanks for having a nosey!
Happy growing everyone 🌱💚

Budette_Botanics She is definitely fattening up, and I do believe she is close to harvest. I’m guessing about a week or two to get the trichomes to a nice percentage of ambers. The fade is definitely taking hold, my tent is in full autumn mode😍
She smells amazing, and her buds are very dense. She really has impressed me, with how small she was to what she has grown into is quite a jump. I will definitely grow this seed again, even with having to step in during germination. It’s been lovely to watch her grow 🌱💪🏻
Quite a calm week, she is still being fed nutrients every 3 days. I will be stopping the feed, and switching to only ph’d water next week. I did want there to be at least 2 weeks between the harvest of strawberry banana & this, but time will tell if I manage to get that. She is catching up on trichomes maturity quite fast.
Until next time, have a marvellous grow week 💚🌱
I would definitely grow this strain again, even though we had a slow start she finished strong. She grew way more than I anticipated. Some lovely scents coming from this crop too, spicy pine if I had to describe it, and skunky weed. Very pungent. She has a good percentage of ambers, quite excited to try this one. Indica is my favourite strain, I’m hoping I’ve let this go long enough to give a lovely heavy sleep kick.. time will tell.
Update after drying, and sampling.. I managed to harvest 4.69oz - 133g which is amazing. In total for my two plants I have managed to come away with just under 9oz the smoke is super smooth, one of the pros of growing organically is that the early sample is never too harsh on the back of the throat. The flavor is very pine, earthy & spice. Very pleasant, and will hopefully enhance more now they are curing in my groove bags. I thought strawberry banana auto was going to be the heaviest plant in weight, but no northern lights wins.. she was the smallest for 90% of the grow. She struggled to pop her shell, and I had to intervene, I am so glad I did. She really has stunned me with the end result. Looking at the trichomes, they are all pretty much amber. I really did push her to the most ambers I could get, and the effects definitely hit hard. This is definitely a smoke at bedtime strain. So happy with the buds. I will grow again, but maybe from a different seed bank. Would be interesting to see how different they would be.

Budette_Botanics I have enjoyed this grow session, both plants have been an absolute joy to have in my tent. I am having a grow break until September now. I am going to watch my national team Scotland play and don’t want to have to rely on someone to feed them whilst I’m out of the country. Also the heat is getting quite hot, so maintaining that is not an easy task. I am already missing having a grow on the go, so I may not make it to September, but that’s the plan ha ha. Thank you for following along, means a lot 💚🌱🙌🏻 Hope you all have a marvellous grow week 💚
@wolfvb, Me too, her nodes were hardly visible before I applied the LST. The net seems to be helping too, even though it always looks brutal 😅😭 Thank you for your comments, nice to hear someone else thinks she’s looking good 🙏🏼💚🌱
I love the energy, I am just getting back to growing after a loss, and I am getting the bug again. I love it so much. It seems like you've also been bitten haha. Wishing you great success.
@UnorthadoxDude, Sorry to hear about your loss, that can’t be easy. I’m glad to hear you are getting back into growing, it’s amazing for distracting the mind with more positive things.. and you have us in the grow community too 💚 I have definitely become a little bit addicted ha ha, they very quickly become your babies. Wishing you the best of success too, thank you for your message I appreciate you 🤘
