From their comfortable and bright 21/3H… to 9 hours of light and 15 of darkness. A little existential blow, which is basically telling them: “girls, decide what you are or recess is over.” Now they wait. So do I. If all goes as planned, between Sunday and Monday each will reveal its secret. And then… only the females will remain. Because, let’s be clear: this is not a garden for males. Despite the light stress, the plants look healthy. Resilient. As if they don’t know what awaits them. I continue to water only with spring water, without adding fertilizers. Two days after the transplant, I cut the central apex to stop vertical stretching and promote branching. The plant seems comfortable with the new soil and pot; it now lives in my grow tent with 20/4H of light, in good company. This week I made the first application of dry amendments to the substrate, a varied mix of organic raw materials. I add this mix on top of the mulch at a rate of 1-2 grams per liter of soil, rake it in, and finally water it with my Activated Mountain Microorganisms in liquid form (MMA); a massive inoculation of microbiology that will make all the nutrients and minerals present in the substrate assimilable. For now, in the vegetative growth stage, I avoid watering with soluble Bio Fertilizers; I want the plant's roots to search for and assimilate what is found in the soil. In the meantime, I apply high-intensity light, especially the blue lights at 450nm, which modify the morphology of the plants, making them more compact and branched. The plant is responding well, the sturdy branches are turning purple, the huge leaves are capturing all the light possible, energy converted into biomass, we're on the road to glory! 🤨 This week I made a strategic change with this plant. I moved it from the main tent to my other growing space, a homemade cabinet (60x40x125 cm), which I keep with the door open and lit from above and the sides without any mercy, it's my torture cabinet! 😈 Now I'm using 5 lamps: - on the canopy, a blue panel (450nm - 33w) and a lamp (50w), with whites, reds, IR, UV... - On one side, a 60x30cm panel with a 6500K spectrum (33w) - on the opposite side, a white panel (33w) of 7700K and a 6500K lamp (33w) I'm aiming for maximum compactness, to stop vertical stretching, and to have the maximum illuminated areas to provoke very efficient photosynthesis, which is already showing, with the vigor and eagerness with which this crop is growing. With very stable and healthy growth, the plant is advancing with a strength in leaves and branches that is unusual. 🤨 Water consumption is regular, watering slowly and deeply every 3 days. This week I've slightly increased the concentrations of Bio Nutrients in the watering mixes; the plant is ready, meanwhile, the roots are eagerly peeking out from the base... nothing can go wrong! 😋 I finally deactivated my homemade cabinet and moved this plant to my main grow tent, as the number of plants has decreased due to the appearance of 3 male plants that I couldn't identify in time. I executed them at dawn and I'm keeping all their remains to feed the mulch for next season. 😈 I now have six female plants in my main grow tent, fewer plants = more attention and care! 😍 I've made some changes to the lighting; although I'm still keeping the blue spring lamps, I'll keep them for a few more days until I'm sure all the plants have stopped stretching. Then the summer lights will come in, warmer, redder... more appropriate! 💡💡 In the center of the tent, I had two 50w COBs each with blue and full spectrum light, I've replaced them with a panel that has a lot of red and blue, also with some 3000K LEDs (100w). I've made the final switch of lights and color spectrums, now the garden is in full summer mode, with red and orange lights flooding the entire space. After weeks stretching towards the lights as if still escaping the cold, now all her energy has changed direction. She no longer seeks space. Now she builds flowers. And what flowers… 😍 The buds begin to stack up with that obscene beauty of the first serious phases of flowering. Young still, yes, but already loaded with intention. Moreover, timidly, the first purple tones appear among leaves and calyxes, as if the genetics were remembering where it comes from. A small echo of the north surviving under this my artificial and warm sun, in the clandestine east, where it has ended up taking refuge. I watch her every night and honestly… there are plants that grow well, and then there are these others that seem perfectly aware of how beautiful they are. This one clearly belongs to the second group. The very cheeky one struts under the lights as if she had come here to star in a documentary. ••• A structure built for excess The metabolism is still completely skyrocketing. Every day she consumes more water, more space, more attention. I water slowly and deeply every two days, watching how the pot empties as if there were a small black hole beneath it absorbing everything. I keep her in a corner of the tent, surrounded by warm and intense lights, like an exiled queen protected by technology, microbiology, and a probably concerning amount of obsession on my part... Nothing can go wrong. 😏🌱 And I remain fascinated by the structure of this plant. The trunk is solid. The branches are thick. The leaves seem built to withstand storms. The whole plant architecture conveys a strange sense of preparedness, as if from the beginning it had known exactly what it was going to carry on. Because yes… monstrous buds are coming. It is very clear. Long. Dense. Heavy. And this plant not only thinks of producing them: she thinks of holding them upright with pride, like a plant statue completely convinced of her own genetic superiority. What an absolute beast of a structure. 😋 ••• Feeding without taming Right now I feel like I am preparing the ground for the really important weeks. Little by little I will increase the variety and concentration of soluble nutrients and minerals, accompanying the natural acceleration of flowering. But there is one thing I am very clear about: I don’t want to force anything. I don’t want that kind of cultivation where the plant ends up becoming a kind of overfed athlete, unable to exist without constant intervention. My concept of watering, now, is different. Much quieter. Much more organic. I don’t want to dominate the system. 🤠 I just want to accompany it. 😏 Biofertilizers here are not the protagonists. They are barely a variable complement within a much more complex living ecosystem that exists in the substrate. Because beneath the surface, there is still food, minerals, organic matter, and microbiology working slowly, transforming and releasing life. And honestly… I think that’s where the true magic of the garden happens. Not in violently pushing the plant towards maximum production. But in creating the conditions for it to want to grow itself. Give space. Observe. Intervene just enough. Today is the fifth application of dry amendments to the substrate. This is the thirstiest plant in the garden, I water slowly and deeply every two days. Today I also started with specific flowering watering mixes, focusing on soluble phosphorus and potassium, accompanied by other Bio Fertilizers that provide various minerals. Always in gentle doses, where the EC ranges between 0.5 and 0.75. While preparing this and two other pots for watering, I removed all the ties from the branches of the three plants, they are now sturdy enough to maintain their shape, direction, and the weight of the buds no matter how big they get... now, the plants grow untied... they have earned my trust! 😍 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo Welcome cannabis growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 ••• Snowcaine x Runaway Bride — Thanks @MissinBissin 😉 The sixth week of flowering has ended! 😁 The plant continues to be the thirstiest in the garden, the metabolism is through the roof, the buds are completely frosted with trichomes and tinged with purple colors, and they keep fattening up like there's no tomorrow! 🤣 The leaf mass remains spotless, little by little the plant is shedding the older leaves and those that were left in the shade, but first it absorbs the moisture and minerals, and then, exhausted, these leaves fall to the substrate and return to the cycle of life! A few days ago I reduced the light schedule by 15 minutes, I've been lighting these first weeks of flowering with 12 hours and 30 minutes, now in two phases I've returned to the 12/12H schedule. I want the plant to feel the end of summer and the beginning of autumn so that the buds start to mature. At the same time, I've added a 50w COB in the most orange corner with a color spectrum of 590nm, a yellow/orange complementary light whose main feature is high penetration. deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 ••• Snowcaine x Runaway Bride — Thanks @MissinBissin 😉 Eighth week of flowering... the plant is moving towards the zenith of its glory! 😁 It's been a week of hellish heat, I had to disconnect 3 lamps to contain the heat in the grow tent, plus, more frequent watering and lots of air circulating through the garden. The buds are tinted with shades of pink and purple, wonderfully adorning this grow. The colas are hard as rocks, and when I touch them, they unleash a myriad of fresh, complex, fruity aromas... Starting this week, I'm going to closely observe the development of the trichomes, I want to harvest the plants as soon as I see brown trichomes, I don't want to extend the flowering longer than necessary. 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. There’s still a lot of energy in this plant to keep going, the trichomes are clear and milky, and there are no brown trichomes present. The plant's metabolism is very high, I water slowly and deeply every 2 days. I will continue until the end, watering with gentle mixes of my Bio Fertilizers, maybe I’ll do one last ritual watering, just with pure spring water... let’s play! 😍 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo **Welcome marijuana growers!** 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 ••• Snowcaine x Runaway Bride — Thanks @MissinBissin 😉 Twelve weeks of flowering...! 😁 I was thinking of harvesting this plant after the last watering, but after looking closely at the trichomes, there’s no amber present and there are many milky and clear ones. Another plant that rebels against the calendar’s cut. The last watering mixes have been varied, as always, but I’ve increased the doses of K and P a bit, let’s see if the buds fatten up a little more... all for the cause! 😁 The plant's metabolism is very high, it consumes a lot of watering water, every two days it asks for water in quantity, as soon as I see the first amber trichomes, I’ll stop watering, wait for the substrate to exhaust all moisture, and I’ll harvest it! 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME.
