Hey there astroworld, you can top a plant anytime after it gets her fifth node, so right now you're already good to go. You can top anywhere above the third node so just clip the top or clip the very top right now. Now to answer your question, what really matters is how you've planned your grow : a medium veg is 6 to 8 weeks and topping strategically will either produce four mains (if you veg out longer a top at the fifth node) or two mains, if you top now. End of the day it's grower preference, but you're good to go ! šŸš€

Can I or should I take the very bottom fan leaves off the plant? They seem to be in the way. Thanks.

No, don't remove any leaves yet. Let it grow and in the first or second week of flowering you can remove 1/4 of lower part of your plants leaves and smallest branches to give more energy to main bud sights and also biggest fan leaves facing inwards is good idea to remove to create light penetration. Look up some "lollipopping" and "deleafing" videos on youtube. Hope this helps and happy growing!!

Thanks @@lilbp420 - Changed to CaliMagic and reduced water to thc bomb. It was actually 1 gal between the two plants. I inputted the info wrong (now updated). Any less and there is no run off.

No, don't take them off, why would you? Those leaves are powering the growth.

@@Athos, The reason I asked was because the bottom leaves are touching the soil and half of the leave sees no sunlight anyway. I also thought that energy should be going to new leaves and not old leaves. Thanks.

Thanks @CRiSPrGrow, I want at least four mains because I have only one plant now. So I need to wait until this 5th node (that is coming through now) has grown out and then top the new 6th node when it emerges? I am hoping for 6 ounces off one plant - is that possible doing it this way? This is not an auto btw. šŸ‘

I'm not a Coco grower, but I would reduce the watering, 1 gallon a day this early seems really high. Like in my hydro setup I don't add any water for the first two weeks. There is still a bit of green there so I would barring better advice reduce your watering. Cannabis loves air at the roots, too much water can be a bad thing. Also I would lower the dose of CalMag. I use around 1.7-2.6ml (different brand supplement) per gallon of water to condition my RO water (~3 ppm at the tap).
