Mannirumpel420 3 Lemon Mandarin cuttings were placed in peat pots. The leaf tips were trimmed a bit so that not too much water is processed. I cut the lower side of the cutting at an angle so that a larger area for root formation is created. I am curious to see how the clones will do and if all of them will survive. 😬 After 24 hours, their leaves are standing well and not drooping, a good sign. I wonder how long it will take until they are well rooted. There are now a total of 5 cuttings and they have different lengths of nodes. The last two are extremely close to each other, as they were near the lamp. This should actually be good since the plant does not have to transport water too far. After 10 days, I open the vents to reduce humidity, currently it is at 85%, this should signal to the plant that it needs to form roots and will no longer receive water from the air. Perhaps I should have done this earlier. I hope to see the first root in the next 3 days.

Mannirumpel420 Exactly after 14 days, the first roots are visible. I was as happy as a little child. 😁 I have already repotted the first one, and the others will follow in the next few days. The roots shot directly through the pot. The other cuttings have not shown any roots yet and are still in the greenhouse. However, these were also planted later, but 14 days have now also passed. I have the feeling that the larger cuttings have rooted faster, but they also look a bit worn. Whereas the small cuttings still have deep green leaves.

Mannirumpel420 A cutting is already growing diligently, even though no roots are visible at the bottom yet. The other one has roots at the bottom but is struggling and looks a bit weak. However, it should recover when it forms new leaves.

Mannirumpel420 Three cuttings have rooted well. Unfortunately, I had to throw away 2 plants. I have them in a 7L pot with compost soil and light mix. 2 of the plants already have good side shoots, probably because they were very close to the lamp. I'm going to let them grow until the pot is well-rooted and then switch to 12/12.

Mannirumpel420 All the plants are struggling with the cold at night, and each cutting is growing a bit differently. One has 4 new shoot tips right next to each other, and another is already showing white hairs. I think it has to do with the proximity to the light in the early stages that these differences have arisen. As I said, one plant is starting to flower, even though the lamp is still set to 15 hours. I turned the timer forward a bit for one day; it probably triggered flowering even though it's now getting the same hours.

Mannirumpel420 I increased the light hours to 17h to reveg the cuttings and to make sure that the big cuttings are not flowering yet. Otherwise, they already look really, really good and are growing very compact.

Mannirumpel420 Despite the cold nights and high humidity, they are just growing wonderfully. I will check the root system in the next few days, and once it has spread well, they will go under the flowering lamp. You can already clearly see the lemon terpenes in the mother plant, and I'm curious to see how the clones will do in flowering, as there is a significantly smaller distance between the nodes. This should also result in thicker head buds. 😋

Mannirumpel420 From today, they will get 12 hours of light. It will be a challenge to train all their shoots. Most likely, many leaves will need to be removed to allow more air and light to come through. I'm really impressed by their growth, and I will probably keep a cutting of this strain since it also smells incredibly good.

Mannirumpel420 They are already stretching a lot. I mixed worm humus and Power Bloom 2-8-4 into the pot for each of them. This way, they should be able to absorb the nutrients in the coming weeks.

Mannirumpel420 2 of the clones have dense flower formations, while one plant has stretched quite a bit. I'm really glad to still have this genetics, as the mother plant really impressed me.

Mannirumpel420 I have the feeling that the buds won't be as compact as the mother plant, even though they were only in the light mix. The cuttings might have too much nitrogen due to the compost soil. However, they also received bloom fertilizer. I hope they'll gain some weight in the late flowering stage.

Mannirumpel420 They have beautiful dense buds and they smell just like the mother plant. The lower buds are a bit underdeveloped. I'm leaving them a bit longer so that their trichomes turn a bit amber.

Mannirumpel420 To make room for other plants, I'm harvesting 2 plants. It was really worth it to clone this strain. I cut off the popcorn buds during the fresh trim and froze them. I'm going to make some bubble hash from that along with other strains. I'm really looking forward to it.

@Mannirumpel420 I've experienced that with cuttings, they really grow 1:1 like the mother, except for double shoots.

@GreenHobbit, Yeah, that really lends itself well to experimenting. I hope that the clones, because of the compost soil and the nutrients, will show even more of what the strain can do.

@Mannirumpel420 with cuttings, it's like with cars. The most important thing is the root system first.. if that takes off well, it can push a lot more energy upwards.
