Mentha de Croco Fern-Type - TerpyZ

Tower84 🇬🇧 Week 1 after Germination The two Mentha de Croco Fern Type from Terpyz are now one week old and about 5 cm tall. Overall development is progressing well. Compared to regular cannabis plants, these mutant phenotypes are growing a bit slower, which is perfectly fine at this stage. It’s already interesting to see some variation: - One plant clearly shows more of the fern-type structure. - The other might lean more towards a webbed-type expression. Both plants look healthy and stable so far. I’m excited to see how their structure develops over the coming weeks. The plan is to move them outdoors around mid-May once conditions are suitable. Looking forward to the progress!

Tower84 Pretty chill week overall 👌 Both Mentha de Croco Fern Type girls got transplanted into 2L pots and I dusted the rootballs with a bit of Great White – curious to see how that boosts root development 💪 Also bumped the Sanlight from level 2 to level 3, now running around 420 PPFD / 26 DLI. They seem to like it so far, no signs of stress at all. In the background there’s a same-age Special Kush from RQS – you can clearly see the mutants are a bit slower 😄 but everything looks healthy and stable, so no worries. Next watering I’ll start feeding with the Biobizz schedule. Let’s see how they respond. Already hyped to move the ladies into their final 30L pots around mid May for the outdoor season. 🌱🔥

Tower84 🇬🇧 Grow Report – Week 3 (Mentha de Croco) The two Mentha de Croco plants from Terpyz continue to develop steadily in week 3. Growth is consistent, with strong leaf development and a healthy deep green color. This week, they received their first feeding with 2 ml/L Bio-Grow from Biobizz. The plants responded very well, showing no signs of nutrient burn or stress. Growth appears slightly more vigorous since feeding. A key transition starts today: hardening off outdoors. The plants are gradually exposed to natural elements such as sunlight, wind, and temperature fluctuations. This step is crucial to prepare them for outdoor conditions and reduce transplant shock later. The final move outdoors is planned for mid-May, when they will be transplanted into 30-liter fabric pots filled with organic hemp soil from Sonnenerde. This soil provides an excellent foundation for a living soil ecosystem and long-term nutrient availability. Conclusion Week 3: Healthy and vigorous plants with a solid start to nutrient feeding. Hardening off marks an important transition toward the outdoor season.

Tower84 🇬🇧 Weekly Comment – Mentha de Croco (Terpyz) 🌱🔥 The two Mentha de Croco ladies are really taking off this week! At around 30 cm tall, they show compact, bushy growth and look incredibly healthy 💪🌿 Foliage is lush green, dense, and spotless – no deficiencies, no pests in sight 👀✨ They’re spending their days outside soaking up the sun ☀️🌬️, which clearly benefits them. The natural conditions help build stronger structure and resilience – zero stress, just pure vitality 🚀 Overall: very robust plants, clean growth, and lots of energy in the system 🔋🌱 If they keep this pace, expect even more branching and a nice bushy structure in the coming weeks.

Tower84 🇬🇧 Week 5 – Mentha de Croco (Terpyz) 🌱🔥 The two Mentha de Croco plants are still going strong in week 5 💪🌿 Nice bushy growth, compact structure, and overall very vigorous. Leaves are deep green and dense – no signs of deficiencies or stress 👌✨ Currently running a “hybrid mode”: outside during the day for sunlight ☀️ and back inside at night 🌙 This routine works great so far, and the plants clearly benefit from natural light and fresh air. However, the pots are starting to feel small ? – roots are ready for more space! In about two weeks, they’ll move into 30L outdoor pots and really take off 🚀🌱 Conclusion: Excellent condition, strong growth, and ready for the next big step 🔥

Tower84 🇬🇧 Week 6 – Mentha de Croco (Terpyz) 🌱🔥 The two Mentha de Croco plants continue to thrive and made another impressive jump in week 6 🚀🌿 At 47 cm and 40 cm tall, both plants look strong, vigorous, and very healthy. The color is rich green and perfectly even – exactly what you want to see 💚✨ The daily transition to outdoor conditions is still going smoothly ☀️🌬️ During the day they enjoy sunlight and fresh air, while evenings are still spent inside the tent. The plants handle this routine extremely well with zero signs of stress 💪 Next Saturday is finally the big day: moving into their final 30L outdoor pots ?🔥 They’ll be transplanted into Bio Hanferde by Sonnenerde, providing a strong organic foundation for the outdoor season 🌱🌍 One of the pots has also been prepared with clover as a green manure cover crop 🍀 For the past two weeks, the clover has been consistently chopped and dropped as mulch, helping protect the soil surface and continuously feed the microbial life – pure living soil vibes 🔬🌿 Overall, both plants are looking incredibly stable and ready for the next burst of outdoor growth.

Tower84 🇬🇧 Week 7 – Mentha de Croco (Terpyz) 🌱🔥 The two Mentha de Croco plants continue to perform extremely well and show strong, healthy growth in week 7 💪🌿 At around 56 cm and 50 cm tall, both plants have gained a lot of size and look very robust and vigorous. The foliage remains a beautiful deep green 💚✨ with a compact and sturdy structure. Overall, both plants look very healthy and are handling the indoor/outdoor transition perfectly ☀️🌬️ Tuesday will finally be the big day: permanent move outdoors ?🌳 With nighttime temperatures now staying above 10 °C, the ladies are finally ready to stay outside full-time and unleash their full potential 🚀🔥 Everything is going according to plan so far, and I’m really happy with how both plants are developing.

Tower84 🇬🇧 Week 8 – Mentha de Croco (Terpyz) 🌱🔥 This week marked a big milestone for the two Mentha de Croco plants 🌿🚀 Since Tuesday, both have been transplanted into their final 30L outdoor pots filled with Bio Hanferde by Sonnenerde and a little bit of Great White from Plant Success 🌍 Both pots were also mulched with Sonnenerde Biofaser to help retain moisture and support microbial life 🍂🔬 – perfect living soil conditions. The plants handled the transplant without any issues and continue to look fantastic 💪💚 At 66 cm and 58 cm tall, both plants are growing vigorously and appear very robust. The foliage remains deep green and overall vitality is excellent ☀️🌱 Today, on Saturday, they received their first homemade compost tea ✨ The tea was brewed for 24 hours using two handfuls of worm castings and about one tablespoon of kelp in a bucket of water, continuously aerated with an air pump and air stone 🌊 It was applied undiluted to help boost soil biology after transplanting 🔥🌿 So far, everything is going exactly according to plan and the plants seem very happy in their new setup 🙌

Tower84 🇬🇧 Week 9 – Mentha de Croco (Terpyz) 🌿🚀 What a week! Since moving into their 30L final pots, the two Mentha de Croco plants have absolutely exploded with growth 🔥🌱 Now standing at 90 cm and 88 cm tall, both plants have made an impressive leap in height over a very short period of time. The Bio Hanferde from Sonnenerde seems to be a perfect match, as their development could hardly be better right now 💪🌿 The plants are displaying a rich, healthy green color 💚 and continue to produce their unique fern-like leaves, one of the most fascinating traits of this strain 🌿✨. They definitely stand out from the crowd and attract attention every time. Apart from that, everything looks excellent: strong stems, vigorous growth, and no signs of issues whatsoever. The ladies are clearly enjoying their new root space and are making full use of it 🚀☀️ If they keep growing at this pace, these two Mentha de Croco plants might end up looking more like small trees than regular garden plants this season. Every other day 3 Liter Water each plant.

Tower84 🇬🇧 Week 10 – Mentha de Croco (Terpyz) 🌿🌳 The two Mentha de Croco plants continue their impressive progress and have now clearly passed the one-meter mark 🚀🔥. Standing at 104 cm and 107 cm, both plants are thriving and showing remarkable vigor. One of the most fascinating aspects is their leaf morphology. The distinctive fern-like leaves are becoming more pronounced every week, giving the plants a truly unique appearance 🌿✨. They stand out beautifully and look very different from traditional cannabis varieties. Weather conditions were not ideal this past week. But heavy rainfall ☔ meant there was no need for additional watering, allowing the plants to benefit entirely from natural rainwater. Their foliage remains deep green and overall vitality is excellent 💚. Last week, the plants received an application of a homemade fermented plant extract diluted at 10 ml per liter of water 🌱. The ferment was made from horsetail and fresh nettles, enriched with raw sugar, molasses, honey, EM-1, and homemade LAB cultures. After a 10-day fermentation period, it was filtered and stored in the refrigerator. The goal is to naturally support plant health and soil biology 🌍🔬. Today, a fresh batch of compost tea is being brewed to further stimulate microbial activity and keep the living soil ecosystem thriving. Overall, both plants are performing exceptionally well. If they continue at this pace, they will truly earn their title as “small trees” by the end of the season 🌳😄

Tower84 🌿 Weekly Comment Both plants continued to grow very evenly over the past week and are now at approximately 112 cm 🌱📏. Despite the rather cool and rainy weather conditions, both plants appear healthy and stable overall 💪🌿. Growth was slightly slowed under these conditions, but no signs of stress are visible. Today’s strong wind 🌬️ makes the bamboo stakes especially important, as the plants have reached a significant height and biomass. Structural support is currently essential to prevent any damage to the main shoot. Once the soil has dried sufficiently after the prolonged rainfall ☔➡️🌤️, the next irrigation will include a nettle and horsetail ferment at a dosage of 10 ml/L 🌿. This is intended to further strengthen the overall resilience of the plants. With temperatures now rising again 🌡️, a noticeably more vigorous growth phase is expected over the coming week 🚀🌱.

Tower84 🌿 Week 12 – Mentha de Croco 🇬🇧 Both Mentha de Croco plants experienced an impressive growth spurt over the past week, stretching from 112 cm to a remarkable 131 cm 🚀. With summer temperatures well above 30°C ☀️🌡️, their water demand has increased significantly, and each plant is currently drinking around 4.5 liters per day 💧. Interestingly, both plants display completely different growth patterns. One is developing into a tall, column-like structure, while the other resembles a classic Christmas tree shape 🌲. Despite their different architectures, both plants look exceptionally healthy and vigorous 💚✨. To support soil life and overall plant health, they receive either a compost tea ?🍵 or a nettle and horsetail ferment 🌿 once a week, alternating between the two. With the current conditions, the coming weeks should be very exciting! ☀️🌱

Tower84 🌿 Week 13 – Mentha de Croco 🇩🇪 What a week! 🚀 Both plants have now reached approximately 155 cm, gaining an impressive 24 cm in just one week 📏🌱. The ongoing heatwave, with daytime temperatures reaching 39°C, has significantly increased their water demand ☀️🌡️. Each plant is currently consuming around 5 liters of water per day 💧. Besides the daily watering, they received one feeding this week with a nettle and horsetail ferment at a concentration of 10 ml/L 🌿. Despite the extreme conditions, both plants remain exceptionally healthy and vigorous 💚. If this growth rate continues, they are on track to break the 2-meter mark in about two weeks! 📈 In the end, however, the 30-liter pot size will likely determine their final height. Until then, it’s all about watering, observing, and enjoying this explosive growth! 🌞🌿

Tower84 🌿 Week 14 – Mentha de Croco 🇩🇪 Both plants continue to look absolutely top healthy 💚🌱. However, this week didn't go entirely without incident. While I was away for five days, a storm rolled in on the very first day 🌬️. The left plant slipped off the rolling platform and unfortunately lay on its side for about two days until my parents could set it back up. Fortunately, no branch or stem broke 🙏🌿. The incident probably slowed its growth a bit, which is why the left plant is currently about 160 cm tall, around 5 cm shorter than the right one at about 165 cm 📏. I've since removed the rolling platforms so the plants hopefully won't tip over again. In situations like this, a bit more pot volume would definitely have been advantageous ⚖️. Today, they also received the Almicanna Veg Compost Tea for the first time, which I brewed for 24 hours 🍵. Other than that, the care mainly consists of daily watering. Depending on the temperature, the plants are currently drinking between 4.5 and 5 liters of water per day 💧. Thankfully, this week was a bit cooler than the last, making conditions much more pleasant for both the plants and the gardener. 🌤️

Tower84 I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they actually surpass the 2-meter mark next week – that would be an impressive feat for 30-liter pots. 🌿🚀

Tower84 Followed

Tower84 🌿 Week 17 – Mentha de Croco 🇩🇪 Another milestone has been reached! 🚀 The left Mentha de Croco is now around 190 cm tall, while the right one has officially broken the 2-meter mark, reaching approximately 202 cm! 📏🎉 What’s especially interesting is how their growth pattern has changed. Instead of the tall, column-like “skyscraper” appearance they had earlier, both plants are now developing a beautiful Christmas tree structure 🌲. The left plant in particular has formed an incredibly symmetrical branching pattern and looks absolutely stunning. 💚 At the moment, each plant receives around 5 liters of water every day 💧. The relatively small 30-liter pots are now clearly becoming the limiting factor for further vertical growth, but despite that, both plants continue to thrive. Today they’ll receive another feeding with my homemade nettle and horsetail ferment at a concentration of 10 ml per liter of water 🌿. Apart from that, everything is going perfectly—no nutrient deficiencies, no pests, and no diseases. Exactly what you hope for in an outdoor grow! 💪☀️ I’m truly impressed by the resilience and beauty of this genetics. These plants have handled every challenge so far and continue to reward me with outstanding growth week after week. ❤️🌱

Tower84 🌿 Week 18 – Mentha de Croco 🇬🇧 Both Mentha de Croco plants continue to perform exceptionally well 💚! The left plant has now reached 194 cm, while the right one stands at an impressive 209 cm, comfortably exceeding the 2-meter mark 📏🌱 This week brought several days of strong wind and heavy gusts 🌬️🌩️, so I secured both plants to the permanently installed rain gutter using natural bast twine. Each plant is now tied at three different points, giving them much better stability against future storms 💪. Unfortunately, the storm wasn’t completely harmless. A few branches snapped in the strong winds, so the plants have lost a little of their perfect appearance. Even so, both remain healthy, vigorous, and full of life with no signs of pests or disease 💚🌿. Today they will receive my homemade banana ferment 🍌 for the first time to help prepare them for the upcoming flowering phase. I expect flowering to really begin around mid-August, and I’m excited to see how much stretch they’ll still produce. The biggest question now is whether the relatively small 30-liter pots will limit the flowering stretch significantly. To be honest, I’m already more than happy with their size 😄. The right plant is now so tall that I almost need a ladder just to take a proper photo ?📸

Tower84 🌿 Week 19 – Mentha de Croco 🇩🇪 The 2-meter mark has now been broken by both plants! 🚀🌱 The left Mentha de Croco has finally reached 2 m, while the right plant has pushed even further and now stands at an incredible 2.15 m 📏🔥. Considering they are growing in just 30 liters of Sonnenerde cannabis soil, this is seriously impressive. This week, however, I noticed a few yellowing leaves in the lower sections 🍂. I suspect the limited nutrient reserves in the relatively small pots are finally starting to show, resulting in a mild nitrogen deficiency. With this enormous amount of plant biomass after so many weeks of growth, it isn’t entirely surprising. To make sure the plants have enough nutrition for the upcoming flowering phase, I started my first Almicanna Flower Compost Tea yesterday 🍵. It will be brewed for 48 hours. I’m also giving them an Almicanna flowering top dress and malted Barley today, so the plants hopefully won’t run out of nutrients too early during flowering 🌸🌿. The additional nutrients should be released gradually over the coming weeks, providing a steady supply as the plants’ enormous biomass continues to demand more and more nutrition. 💪🌱 For now, however, there are still no real signs of flowering. Both plants are continuing to focus mainly on vegetative growth and are still getting bigger. I’m very curious to see when these two skyscrapers finally switch into full flowering mode. 🏙️🌸🚀

Tower84 🌿 Week 20 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇩🇪 It’s finally happening 🌸🔥! Both Mentha de Croco plants have now started flowering, and I’m incredibly excited for the weeks ahead 😍🌱! The left plant is now around 2.07 m, while the right one has reached approximately 2.20 m 📏🚀. The former “skyscrapers” are now hopefully going to turn into huge flowering plants 🌲🌸. I removed a few yellowing leaves from the lower sections 🍂. I was unfortunately about one week late with the top dress, so the plants showed some mild nitrogen deficiency in the meantime. With this enormous amount of plant biomass, however, a few yellow leaves really aren’t a big deal 😄💚. Last Saturday I lightly worked Almicanna Kickflip into the upper soil layer 🌿. The following day, I gave them Almicanna Flower Compost Tea, which had been brewed for 48 hours 🍵. Since the nutrients from the top dress are released gradually, the additional nutrition wasn’t immediately available to the plants. I’m keeping the removed leaves in a bucket to dry 🍂 and will use them as mulch for the plants later in the season ♻️🌱. Now I have a difficult decision to make 🤔: Do I let the plants run naturally and enjoy watching them build huge buds, or should I remove a significant number of flowers right at the beginning 🌸✂️? The breeder lists a flowering time of 11–12 weeks, which would put harvest somewhere around late October to early November. With a typical German autumn 🍂🌧️, we have to be realistic: enormous, dense buds would carry a very high risk of mold this late in the season. So unfortunately, I probably won’t be able to let nature completely take its course. I’ll most likely have to thin the plants out quite heavily as flowering progresses. Better to sacrifice some bud size than lose everything to mold 🌧️🍃✂️. What I’m looking forward to the most, though, is the autumn show 🍂❤️. The fern-like leaves of this genetics are absolutely beautiful, and if they develop some spectacular autumn colors, I think these plants will become a real feast for the eyes 🍁🌿😍. I can’t wait to see what the next 11–12 weeks bring 🚀🌸!

Tower84 🌿 Week 21 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇩🇪 The two Mentha de Croco plants are becoming more impressive every week 😍🌿. The right plant has now reached approximately 2.25 m, while the left one is around 2.10 m tall 📏🚀. The big flowering stretch has not really happened so far, and due to the limited 30-liter pot volume, I don’t expect much additional vertical growth. Instead, the plants have expanded much more outwards than upwards 🌿🌲. They have already turned into real bushes, with an incredible amount of biomass 💚. The first signs of bud development are now becoming visible 🌸. The flowers are starting to build, and the characteristic aroma is slowly becoming noticeable 👃🌿. For now, however, the smell is still very moderate and nowhere near as intense as I expect it to become later in flowering 😊. The weather has cooled down significantly this week 🌤️, with several periods of rain 🌧️. After the heat of the past few weeks, this cooler weather is a blessing for us, but the plants definitely enjoyed all the sunshine they got over the last few weeks. Now the German autumn is slowly beginning — with cooler and rainy periods ahead… 🌧️🍂 Today, each plant will receive 5 liters of Almicanna Flower Compost Tea 🍵. The tea was brewed for 48 hours with continuous aeration, giving the soil biology another boost 🌱💚. Now I’m very curious to see how the flowers develop over the coming weeks 🌸🚀. The plants have already built an impressive amount of size and biomass, and I’m really looking forward to watching them transition further into full flowering 😍🌿.

Tower84 🌿 Week 22 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇬🇧 The two Mentha de Croco plants continue to develop beautifully 😍🌿. The left plant is now approximately 2.14 m, while the right one has reached around 2.30 m 📏🚀. The stretch of the main branches has been relatively limited over the past three weeks, but the side branches have really taken off vertically 🌱📈. This is especially noticeable on the right plant, which has developed some long side branches and has become much bushier 🌲. The left plant is clearly further ahead in flower development, while the right pheno has focused much more on developing its massive side branches so far 🌸. This week brought typical early German autumn weather 🍂🌧️. Temperatures were cooler, there was plenty of rain, and we also had some strong wind gusts on certain days 🌬️. Without the plants being secured to the rain gutter, these two giants would almost certainly have tipped over again 💨. At over two meters tall, the combination of wind and their heavy, upright structure is definitely something to take seriously 😅🌿. The soil biology in these relatively small 30-liter pots is looking fantastic 🌱. Whenever I lift the mulch, I can see plenty of worms and all kinds of tiny soil organisms underneath – exactly what I want to see in my Living Soil 💚. Two days ago, I added another Almicanna Kickflip top dress. The ladies are getting pretty hungry now, which isn’t particularly surprising considering the enormous amount of biomass they’re supporting in such limited pot volume 😄🍃. Without regular feeding with compost tea, ferments and top dress, I believe these plants would have ended up significantly smaller 💪🌱. With the flowers now starting to gain more mass, I’ll have to do some selective thinning next week to improve airflow and reduce the risk of mold as autumn progresses ✂️🌬️. With plants this large, I’d rather take some preventative action before the wet autumn weather really sets in 🌧️🍂. I’m incredibly curious to see how these two phenotypes will continue to diverge over the coming weeks 😍🌸.

🌿 Week 23 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇬🇧 This week was all about a rather radical decision ✂️🌿. Last Saturday I heavily defoliated both plants and removed roughly half of the branches. All lower buds were removed as well – I’m keeping only the top buds with the best light exposure ☀️🌸. My goal is very clear: quality over quantity 💚. I want to improve airflow, reduce the risk of mold during the upcoming autumn, and at the same time minimize the amount of smell for the sake of my neighbors 🌬️🏡. With harvest potentially coming in late October or early November, I simply don’t want to risk losing a large part of the crop to mold 🍂🌧️. It honestly hurts a little to remove so much biomass from such majestic plants 😢🌿. But ultimately, I’m only interested in the final result. I’d rather have fewer high-quality, healthy buds than an enormous amount that ends up in the trash because of mold 🙏🌸. The left plant is now approximately 2.18 m, while the right one has reached an incredible 2.33 m 📏🚀. As expected, the heavy defoliation has roughly halved their water consumption 💧. The left plant doesn’t look particularly happy at the moment, though 😕🌿. On top of that, the Sonnenerde is clearly starting to run out of nutrients, and looking back, I probably should have used a heavier top dress. I was away on a work trip for the last four days and my wife took care of the watering 💧❤️. Unfortunately, it seems the same amount of water was applied much faster, resulting in drainage every time. I suspect this may have washed out some nutrients and contributed to the further development of the nutrient deficiency 🌱💦. I’m now trying to correct the situation. On Friday I gave them BioBizz Grow, TopMax, Bloom and Heaven according to the All-Mix schedule in 5 liters of water 🌿. Today they’ll receive another dose of Almicanna Flower Compost Tea 🍵. After that, it’s time to observe and see whether the left plant starts recovering 👀🌱. The right plant is looking significantly better at the moment and appears much stronger overall 💚. The smell is also noticeably more intense when rubbing the stem of this plant 👃🌿. Interestingly, however, the left plant is further ahead in bud development 🌸. The two phenotypes are clearly showing increasingly different characteristics – and that’s what makes this comparison so interesting 😍. Now it’s time to keep my fingers crossed and watch closely 🤞🌱. I’m very curious to see how these two plants respond to such a major intervention over the next few weeks 🍂🌸.

Tower84 🌿 Week 24 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇬🇧 This week, both plants have finally stopped their vertical growth and are now putting all their energy into developing the buds 🌸. After the heavy defoliation last week, the structure is much more open and I’m really curious to see how the remaining top buds will develop over the coming weeks 👀🌱. The left plant is still slightly further ahead in flowering and continues to show some mild nutrient deficiencies on a few leaves 🍂. The right plant is less affected and generally looks a little healthier and more vigorous 💚. This week I still fed them twice with BioBizz Grow, Bloom, Heaven and TopMax. The plants definitely seemed to benefit from the additional nutrients, but I also noticed something quite important: the soil life has clearly suffered from the liquid fertilizer. Before, there was an incredible amount of life underneath the mulch layer. Now there is hardly anything moving, and some of the worms have even left the pots and partially dried out 💧. To me, this is a pretty clear indication that liquid fertilizer can help the plants in the short term, while still having a negative impact on the biological activity of the Living Soil. So today I made a decision: from now on, I’m stopping bottled fertilizers completely – even if they are organic 🚫. Instead, I want to rely more heavily on the Living Soil itself and get the biological activity back on track. For each plant, I mixed 125 g of Almicanna Kickflip with one handful of compost and half a handful of worm castings and applied it as a topdress 🌱. I hope this will reactivate the soil life and bring the biological activity back to where it was 🙏. I’m perfectly happy to accept a little less yield if necessary – at this point, a healthy and living soil ecosystem is more important to me than squeezing out the last few grams of harvest 💚. I’ve definitely learned something for next year: topdress early enough before flowering starts and leave some extra space in the pot for it from the beginning. With only 30 L of soil, space for additional organic amendments becomes quite limited later in the season. Water consumption is now around 4.5 L per plant per day 💧. Because of the heavy defoliation and the significantly cooler temperatures, water consumption has dropped noticeably 🌡️. And there is another thing I’m really excited about right now: the aroma 👃. When rubbing the sugar leaves, both plants already show a very promising terpene profile. I’m picking up a fruity, citrusy note with a subtle hint of mint 🍋🍃. I already really like the citrus side, but I’m hoping the mint note will become a little stronger as flowering progresses 🙏. I’ve never grown a strain with an aroma combination like this before, so I’m especially curious to see where the terpene profile ends up by harvest 😍. For now, it’s time to watch the soil life, watch the buds and let nature do its thing 🍂🌸. Hopefully the soil ecosystem will quickly recover from the recent stress and both Mentha de Croco plants can enjoy their final flowering weeks under good conditions 🤞🌿.

Tower84 🌿 Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇩🇪 Week 25 and by now the vertical growth is definitely over for both plants 🌿. The left Mentha de Croco is still around 2.18 m, while the right plant has reached an impressive 2.37 m 📏🚀. The left plant is still ahead in bud development 🌸. The buds are noticeably further along and are starting to become really interesting. When rubbing the sugar leaves, the aroma has become extremely intense, very lemony and almost solvent-like 🍋. It’s a really fascinating terpene profile and definitely something I haven’t experienced with one of my plants before 👃🔥. The right plant is much more subtle at the moment. Its buds have a more earthy and less intense aroma 🌱. But flowering is still far from finished, and the terpene profile can obviously change quite a lot over the next few weeks. I’m therefore very curious to see whether these two phenotypes will become even more different by harvest 👀🌸. Another thing I’m noticing more and more is that this cultivar seems to have a tendency to produce absolutely huge buds 😳🌸. And that makes me a little nervous, because both of my plants are starting to build some serious bud mass as well. I’m really curious whether the branches will be strong enough to support the weight of the buds towards the end of flowering 💪🌿. After dealing with some strong autumn storms earlier in the season, I’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on them 🌬️. Apart from that, not much is happening at the moment. Today I’ll give both plants another Almicanna compost tea 🍵. After that, it’s mostly a matter of observing and letting the plants do their thing. Water consumption is currently around 4 litres per plant per day 💧. It varies a little depending on how warm it gets during the day, but the significantly cooler temperatures have clearly reduced their water demand compared with a few weeks ago 🌡️. I would say we are probably around halfway through the flowering development now 🌸⏳. And from this point on, things are going to get really interesting. The next few weeks will show how well the weather cooperates and how the buds develop under German autumn conditions 🍂🌧️. If everything goes according to plan, late October would be the approximate target harvest window ✂️🌸. But a lot can obviously still happen before then. Fingers crossed for plenty of sunshine, not too much continuous rain and, above all, no more major storms 🤞☀️🍂.

Tower84 🌿 Week 26 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇩🇪 The bud development is progressing really well at the moment 🌸💚. Especially on the left plant, I can see noticeable changes almost every day. The buds are already sparkling beautifully in the sunlight, and seeing the first serious layer of trichomes is making me really excited about the final result ✨☀️. The aroma when rubbing the sugar leaves is becoming more and more interesting as well 👃🌿. At the moment, I would describe it as lemony, minty, slightly solvent-like, with a subtle berry note 🍋🍃. It’s a really fascinating combination and I hope the terpene profile continues to develop over the next few weeks. The breeder mentions that this cultivar can occasionally produce rare blueberry phenotypes, although those buds apparently need some additional support 🌸. I could definitely imagine the left plant moving in that direction. Of course, it’s still far too early to say that for sure, but the combination of its aroma and overall development definitely has me curious 👀. Out of all three plants in my current grow, the left Mentha de Croco actually smells the best at the moment 😍. I’m therefore especially interested to see how her aroma develops by harvest. The right plant is a little less spectacular for now 🌿. However, its structure seems somewhat easier to manage, so I’m expecting slightly fewer concerns about supporting the buds 🌸. I’ll definitely keep a close eye on the weight of the buds on the left plant. Water consumption is currently around 2.5–4 litres per plant per day 💧. It varies quite a bit depending on daytime temperatures. It’s supposed to get a little warmer again this week ☀️🌡️, which should hopefully help with further bud development. I’m getting more and more excited about the final result 😍🌸. The left plant in particular has me really curious with her aroma and increasing trichome coverage. For now, it’s all about watching the plants develop, enjoying the warmer weather and hoping they continue to stack up those beautiful buds 🤞🌿.

Tower84 🌿 Week 27 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇬🇧 This week I had to give the left Mentha de Croco a little extra support and built a support structure for the buds 🌸. The buds are getting absolutely massive now, and the relatively thin branches probably won’t be able to support their weight on their own for much longer. Better to support them now than risk something snapping shortly before harvest 🙈🌿. And when it comes to the aroma, the left plant is becoming absolutely spectacular 👃🔥. Rubbing the sugar leaves releases a combination of lemon, something slightly chemical, a touch of sweetness and a subtle berry note 🍋. At the moment, she is clearly my absolute favourite out of all three plants I’m currently growing 😍. The right plant has noticeably stronger branches and will probably have much less trouble supporting the weight of the buds 💪🌿. Its aroma is good as well, but at the moment it simply isn’t quite as spectacular as the left plant. I’m curious to see whether that changes as flowering progresses 👀. This week I gave both plants 5 litres of Almicanna Flower compost tea each 🍵. Since the nights are getting considerably colder now, I brewed the tea in the garage for 48 hours while keeping it at around 21°C with an aquarium heater 🌡️. A big thank you to Birdmountain and Doctore_Verdethumb for the tip about using an aquarium heater 🙏. You were absolutely right – with the much colder nights, it really makes a difference. Luckily, the weather forecast for the next few days looks really good ☀️🌤️. I’m hoping we get more dry and sunny weather. If the conditions stay favourable, there’s still a chance that I might get these plants through the German autumn without major losses 🤞🌿. However, considering the current size and especially the thickness of the buds, there are still several weeks to go before the planned harvest around late October to early November 🌸🍂. A lot can happen with the weather between now and then, and with buds this large, the risk of mould is definitely still something I’m keeping in mind 🌧️. So for now: fingers crossed! 🤞☀️🌿

Tower84 🌿 Week 28 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇬🇧 Due to being away on holiday, this week’s grow report is four days later than usual 🏖️🌿. In the meantime, both plants have made some serious progress, and the buds have increased considerably in size 🌸💚. The left plant, in particular, is producing some absolute monster buds 😳🌸. But it’s not just their size that impresses me – the aroma has become absolutely incredible as well! Rubbing the sugar leaves releases an explosive combination of intense lemon, a slightly chemical note, some sweetness and a subtle spicy edge 🍋🌿. This combination is simply fantastic and currently makes her my absolute favourite out of all three plants in my grow 😍🔥. I’m really curious to see how this exceptional aroma develops further before harvest. The right plant is lagging behind a little. Her buds are noticeably smaller, and the aroma is less intense so far 🌱. However, there is another interesting development: the fern-like leaves are slowly turning purple, creating a beautiful visual contrast 💜🍂. Even if she cannot quite compete with her sister in terms of aroma at the moment, she is definitely a real eye-catcher. Looking at the trichomes under a magnifier, though, there are still plenty of clear trichome heads 🔬💎. The plants apparently need more time to mature. Unfortunately, the weather is getting worse, and we’re now entering the critical phase of the grow 🌧️🍂. With buds this large and dense, the risk of mould is obviously something I need to keep a close eye on. Nevertheless, everything still looks surprisingly good at the moment. Honestly, given the German autumn weather, I was expecting things to be considerably worse by now 🙏🌿. For now, I’m still gambling on getting better bud maturity and hoping I can give the plants a little more time 🤞🌸. I’m prepared to accept that I might lose the occasional bud to mould. Obviously, that would be frustrating, but I also don’t want to harvest prematurely while there is still potential for further maturation. The coming days and weeks will show whether this gamble pays off. For now, I’ll keep monitoring the plants closely, checking for any signs of mould and hoping for a little cooperation from the weather 🌤️🙏. Fingers crossed for a successful finish with as few losses as possible! 🤞🌿🍋

Tower84 🌿 Week 29 – Mentha de Croco by Terpyz 🇬🇧 Due to being away on holiday, my last update was a little late, so here comes the next report just three days later 🌿. Unfortunately, the weather has taken a turn for the worse. It’s now cold, foggy and rainy 🌧️ – pretty much the opposite of what I would want at this late stage of flowering. Both plants have been showing nutrient deficiencies for quite some time 🍂. Looking back, the Sonnenerde living soil seems to have become pretty depleted after such a long vegetative period and extended flowering time. I’ve tried to compensate with topdressings and compost tea, but these two plants have turned into absolute monsters and are clearly very hungry 💚. With only 30 litres of substrate per plant, even living soil eventually reaches its limits. I’ll definitely take this experience into account for my next grow. The aroma of the left plant is still absolutely breathtaking 🍋. Unfortunately, it seems to attract some tiny black flying insects as well, and they appear to be stuck in almost every bud 😩. This has become my biggest problem, as I’m no longer comfortable using the flowers as they are. One possible way to salvage something from them would be to make bubble hash, although that wasn’t part of my original plan. The buds on the left plant are incredibly sticky but also very fluffy 🌸. The right plant, meanwhile, has developed a beautiful purple colour 💜🍂. Interestingly, its buds seem to be much less attractive to the little black flies. The downside is that its aroma is considerably more subtle. So far, both plants are producing very sticky but rather airy buds. Today, I carried out a Mason jar test as an initial indication of their potential for bubble hash production. Unfortunately, the result was rather disappointing 😕. I can see some trichome material settling at the bottom of the jar, but the water becomes very cloudy and the visible yield appears quite low. This makes me suspect that this particular genetics might not be especially suitable for hash washing. Now I need to decide how to proceed 🤔. I’m not ready to give up on the plants just yet. I’ll probably try the bubble hash method anyway and possibly work in several partial harvests. Given the black flies, I can hardly see a sensible alternative if I want to salvage something from these flowers. It’s a real shame because the left plant has such incredible aromatic potential. Having that wonderful aroma overshadowed by these little pests is genuinely frustrating 😩🌿. Let’s see whether I can still get something worthwhile out of this grow. Fingers crossed 🤞💚.
