Tower84 ๐ฌ๐ง Week 1 after Germination
The two Mentha de Croco Fern Type from Terpyz are now one week old and about 5 cm tall. Overall development is progressing well. Compared to regular cannabis plants, these mutant phenotypes are growing a bit slower, which is perfectly fine at this stage.
Itโs already interesting to see some variation:
- One plant clearly shows more of the fern-type structure.
- The other might lean more towards a webbed-type expression.
Both plants look healthy and stable so far. Iโm excited to see how their structure develops over the coming weeks.
The plan is to move them outdoors around mid-May once conditions are suitable. Looking forward to the progress!

Tower84 Pretty chill week overall ๐
Both Mentha de Croco Fern Type girls got transplanted into 2L pots and I dusted the rootballs with a bit of Great White โ curious to see how that boosts root development ๐ช
Also bumped the Sanlight from level 2 to level 3, now running around 420 PPFD / 26 DLI. They seem to like it so far, no signs of stress at all.
In the background thereโs a same-age Special Kush from RQS โ you can clearly see the mutants are a bit slower ๐ but everything looks healthy and stable, so no worries.
Next watering Iโll start feeding with the Biobizz schedule. Letโs see how they respond.
Already hyped to move the ladies into their final 30L pots around mid May for the outdoor season. ๐ฑ๐ฅ

Tower84 ๐ฌ๐ง Grow Report โ Week 3 (Mentha de Croco)
The two Mentha de Croco plants from Terpyz continue to develop steadily in week 3. Growth is consistent, with strong leaf development and a healthy deep green color.
This week, they received their first feeding with 2 ml/L Bio-Grow from Biobizz. The plants responded very well, showing no signs of nutrient burn or stress. Growth appears slightly more vigorous since feeding.
A key transition starts today: hardening off outdoors. The plants are gradually exposed to natural elements such as sunlight, wind, and temperature fluctuations. This step is crucial to prepare them for outdoor conditions and reduce transplant shock later.
The final move outdoors is planned for mid-May, when they will be transplanted into 30-liter fabric pots filled with organic hemp soil from Sonnenerde. This soil provides an excellent foundation for a living soil ecosystem and long-term nutrient availability.
Conclusion Week 3:
Healthy and vigorous plants with a solid start to nutrient feeding. Hardening off marks an important transition toward the outdoor season.

What a week! Since moving into their 30L final pots, the two Mentha de Croco plants have absolutely exploded with growth ๐ฅ๐ฑ
Now standing at 90 cm and 88 cm tall, both plants have made an impressive leap in height over a very short period of time. The Bio Hanferde from Sonnenerde seems to be a perfect match, as their development could hardly be better right now ๐ช๐ฟ
The plants are displaying a rich, healthy green color ๐ and continue to produce their unique fern-like leaves, one of the most fascinating traits of this strain ๐ฟโจ. They definitely stand out from the crowd and attract attention every time.
Apart from that, everything looks excellent: strong stems, vigorous growth, and no signs of issues whatsoever. The ladies are clearly enjoying their new root space and are making full use of it ๐โ๏ธ
If they keep growing at this pace, these two Mentha de Croco plants might end up looking more like small trees than regular garden plants this season.

The two Mentha de Croco plants continue their impressive progress and have now clearly passed the one-meter mark ๐๐ฅ. Standing at 104 cm and 107 cm, both plants are thriving and showing remarkable vigor.
One of the most fascinating aspects is their leaf morphology. The distinctive fern-like leaves are becoming more pronounced every week, giving the plants a truly unique appearance ๐ฟโจ. They stand out beautifully and look very different from traditional cannabis varieties.
Weather conditions were not ideal this past week. But heavy rainfall โ meant there was no need for additional watering, allowing the plants to benefit entirely from natural rainwater. Their foliage remains deep green and overall vitality is excellent ๐.
Last week, the plants received an application of a homemade fermented plant extract diluted at 10 ml per liter of water ๐ฑ. The ferment was made from horsetail and fresh nettles, enriched with raw sugar, molasses, honey, EM-1, and homemade LAB cultures. After a 10-day fermentation period, it was filtered and stored in the refrigerator. The goal is to naturally support plant health and soil biology ๐๐ฌ.
Today, a fresh batch of compost tea is being brewed to further stimulate microbial activity and keep the living soil ecosystem thriving.
Overall, both plants are performing exceptionally well. If they continue at this pace, they will truly earn their title as โsmall treesโ by the end of the season ๐ณ๐

Both plants continued to grow very evenly over the past week and are now at approximately 112 cm ๐ฑ๐. Despite the rather cool and rainy weather conditions, both plants appear healthy and stable overall ๐ช๐ฟ. Growth was slightly slowed under these conditions, but no signs of stress are visible.
Todayโs strong wind ๐ฌ๏ธ makes the bamboo stakes especially important, as the plants have reached a significant height and biomass. Structural support is currently essential to prevent any damage to the main shoot.
Once the soil has dried sufficiently after the prolonged rainfall โโก๏ธ๐ค๏ธ, the next irrigation will include a nettle and horsetail ferment at a dosage of 10 ml/L ๐ฟ. This is intended to further strengthen the overall resilience of the plants.
With temperatures now rising again ๐ก๏ธ, a noticeably more vigorous growth phase is expected over the coming week ๐๐ฑ.

Both Mentha de Croco plants experienced an impressive growth spurt over the past week, stretching from 112 cm to a remarkable 131 cm ๐. With summer temperatures well above 30ยฐC โ๏ธ๐ก๏ธ, their water demand has increased significantly, and each plant is currently drinking around 4.5 liters per day ๐ง.
Interestingly, both plants display completely different growth patterns. One is developing into a tall, column-like structure, while the other resembles a classic Christmas tree shape ๐ฒ. Despite their different architectures, both plants look exceptionally healthy and vigorous ๐โจ.
To support soil life and overall plant health, they receive either a compost tea ?๐ต or a nettle and horsetail ferment ๐ฟ once a week, alternating between the two. With the current conditions, the coming weeks should be very exciting! โ๏ธ๐ฑ

What a week! ๐ Both plants have now reached approximately 155 cm, gaining an impressive 24 cm in just one week ๐๐ฑ.
The ongoing heatwave, with daytime temperatures reaching 39ยฐC, has significantly increased their water demand โ๏ธ๐ก๏ธ. Each plant is currently consuming around 5 liters of water per day ๐ง. Besides the daily watering, they received one feeding this week with a nettle and horsetail ferment at a concentration of 10 ml/L ๐ฟ.

Both plants continue to look absolutely top healthy ๐๐ฑ. However, this week didn't go entirely without incident. While I was away for five days, a storm rolled in on the very first day ๐ฌ๏ธ. The left plant slipped off the rolling platform and unfortunately lay on its side for about two days until my parents could set it back up.
Fortunately, no branch or stem broke ๐๐ฟ. The incident probably slowed its growth a bit, which is why the left plant is currently about 160 cm tall, around 5 cm shorter than the right one at about 165 cm ๐. I've since removed the rolling platforms so the plants hopefully won't tip over again. In situations like this, a bit more pot volume would definitely have been advantageous โ๏ธ.
Today, they also received the Almicanna Veg Compost Tea for the first time, which I brewed for 24 hours ๐ต. Other than that, the care mainly consists of daily watering. Depending on the temperature, the plants are currently drinking between 4.5 and 5 liters of water per day ๐ง. Thankfully, this week was a bit cooler than the last, making conditions much more pleasant for both the plants and the gardener. ๐ค๏ธ

Tower84 ๐ฟ Week 17 โ Mentha de Croco ๐ฉ๐ช
Another milestone has been reached! ๐ The left Mentha de Croco is now around 190 cm tall, while the right one has officially broken the 2-meter mark, reaching approximately 202 cm! ๐๐
Whatโs especially interesting is how their growth pattern has changed. Instead of the tall, column-like โskyscraperโ appearance they had earlier, both plants are now developing a beautiful Christmas tree structure ๐ฒ. The left plant in particular has formed an incredibly symmetrical branching pattern and looks absolutely stunning. ๐
At the moment, each plant receives around 5 liters of water every day ๐ง. The relatively small 30-liter pots are now clearly becoming the limiting factor for further vertical growth, but despite that, both plants continue to thrive.
Today theyโll receive another feeding with my homemade nettle and horsetail ferment at a concentration of 10 ml per liter of water ๐ฟ. Apart from that, everything is going perfectlyโno nutrient deficiencies, no pests, and no diseases. Exactly what you hope for in an outdoor grow! ๐ชโ๏ธ

Both Mentha de Croco plants continue to perform exceptionally well ๐! The left plant has now reached 194 cm, while the right one stands at an impressive 209 cm, comfortably exceeding the 2-meter mark ๐๐ฑ
This week brought several days of strong wind and heavy gusts ๐ฌ๏ธ๐ฉ๏ธ, so I secured both plants to the permanently installed rain gutter using natural bast twine. Each plant is now tied at three different points, giving them much better stability against future storms ๐ช.
Unfortunately, the storm wasnโt completely harmless. A few branches snapped in the strong winds, so the plants have lost a little of their perfect appearance. Even so, both remain healthy, vigorous, and full of life with no signs of pests or disease ๐๐ฟ.
Today they will receive my homemade banana ferment ๐ for the first time to help prepare them for the upcoming flowering phase. I expect flowering to really begin around mid-August, and Iโm excited to see how much stretch theyโll still produce.
The biggest question now is whether the relatively small 30-liter pots will limit the flowering stretch significantly. To be honest, Iโm already more than happy with their size ๐. The right plant is now so tall that I almost need a ladder just to take a proper photo ?๐ธ

Tower84 ๐ฟ Week 19 โ Mentha de Croco ๐ฉ๐ช
The 2-meter mark has now been broken by both plants! ๐๐ฑ The left Mentha de Croco has finally reached 2 m, while the right plant has pushed even further and now stands at an incredible 2.15 m ๐๐ฅ. Considering they are growing in just 30 liters of Sonnenerde cannabis soil, this is seriously impressive.
This week, however, I noticed a few yellowing leaves in the lower sections ๐. I suspect the limited nutrient reserves in the relatively small pots are finally starting to show, resulting in a mild nitrogen deficiency. With this enormous amount of plant biomass after so many weeks of growth, it isnโt entirely surprising.
To make sure the plants have enough nutrition for the upcoming flowering phase, I started my first Almicanna Flower Compost Tea yesterday ๐ต. It will be brewed for 48 hours. Iโm also giving them an Almicanna flowering top dress and malted Barley today, so the plants hopefully wonโt run out of nutrients too early during flowering ๐ธ๐ฟ.
The additional nutrients should be released gradually over the coming weeks, providing a steady supply as the plantsโ enormous biomass continues to demand more and more nutrition. ๐ช๐ฑ
For now, however, there are still no real signs of flowering. Both plants are continuing to focus mainly on vegetative growth and are still getting bigger. Iโm very curious to see when these two skyscrapers finally switch into full flowering mode. ๐๏ธ๐ธ๐

Tower84 ๐ฟ Week 20 โ Mentha de Croco by Terpyz ๐ฉ๐ช
Itโs finally happening ๐ธ๐ฅ! Both Mentha de Croco plants have now started flowering, and Iโm incredibly excited for the weeks ahead ๐๐ฑ! The left plant is now around 2.07 m, while the right one has reached approximately 2.20 m ๐๐. The former โskyscrapersโ are now hopefully going to turn into huge flowering plants ๐ฒ๐ธ.
I removed a few yellowing leaves from the lower sections ๐. I was unfortunately about one week late with the top dress, so the plants showed some mild nitrogen deficiency in the meantime. With this enormous amount of plant biomass, however, a few yellow leaves really arenโt a big deal ๐๐.
Last Saturday I lightly worked Almicanna Kickflip into the upper soil layer ๐ฟ. The following day, I gave them Almicanna Flower Compost Tea, which had been brewed for 48 hours ๐ต. Since the nutrients from the top dress are released gradually, the additional nutrition wasnโt immediately available to the plants.
Iโm keeping the removed leaves in a bucket to dry ๐ and will use them as mulch for the plants later in the season โป๏ธ๐ฑ.
Now I have a difficult decision to make ๐ค: Do I let the plants run naturally and enjoy watching them build huge buds, or should I remove a significant number of flowers right at the beginning ๐ธโ๏ธ?
The breeder lists a flowering time of 11โ12 weeks, which would put harvest somewhere around late October to early November. With a typical German autumn ๐๐ง๏ธ, we have to be realistic: enormous, dense buds would carry a very high risk of mold this late in the season.
So unfortunately, I probably wonโt be able to let nature completely take its course. Iโll most likely have to thin the plants out quite heavily as flowering progresses. Better to sacrifice some bud size than lose everything to mold ๐ง๏ธ๐โ๏ธ.
What Iโm looking forward to the most, though, is the autumn show ๐โค๏ธ. The fern-like leaves of this genetics are absolutely beautiful, and if they develop some spectacular autumn colors, I think these plants will become a real feast for the eyes ๐๐ฟ๐.
I canโt wait to see what the next 11โ12 weeks bring ๐๐ธ!

Tower84 ๐ฟ Week 21 โ Mentha de Croco by Terpyz ๐ฉ๐ช
The two Mentha de Croco plants are becoming more impressive every week ๐๐ฟ. The right plant has now reached approximately 2.25 m, while the left one is around 2.10 m tall ๐๐.
The big flowering stretch has not really happened so far, and due to the limited 30-liter pot volume, I donโt expect much additional vertical growth. Instead, the plants have expanded much more outwards than upwards ๐ฟ๐ฒ. They have already turned into real bushes, with an incredible amount of biomass ๐.
The first signs of bud development are now becoming visible ๐ธ. The flowers are starting to build, and the characteristic aroma is slowly becoming noticeable ๐๐ฟ. For now, however, the smell is still very moderate and nowhere near as intense as I expect it to become later in flowering ๐.
The weather has cooled down significantly this week ๐ค๏ธ, with several periods of rain ๐ง๏ธ. After the heat of the past few weeks, this cooler weather is a blessing for us, but the plants definitely enjoyed all the sunshine they got over the last few weeks. Now the German autumn is slowly beginning โ with cooler and rainy periods aheadโฆ ๐ง๏ธ๐
Today, each plant will receive 5 liters of Almicanna Flower Compost Tea ๐ต. The tea was brewed for 48 hours with continuous aeration, giving the soil biology another boost ๐ฑ๐.
Now Iโm very curious to see how the flowers develop over the coming weeks ๐ธ๐. The plants have already built an impressive amount of size and biomass, and Iโm really looking forward to watching them transition further into full flowering ๐๐ฟ.

๐ฟ Week 22 โ Mentha de Croco by Terpyz ๐ฌ๐ง
The two Mentha de Croco plants continue to develop beautifully ๐๐ฟ. The left plant is now approximately 2.14 m, while the right one has reached around 2.30 m ๐๐.
The stretch of the main branches has been relatively limited over the past three weeks, but the side branches have really taken off vertically ๐ฑ๐. This is especially noticeable on the right plant, which has developed some long side branches and has become much bushier ๐ฒ. The left plant is clearly further ahead in flower development, while the right pheno has focused much more on developing its massive side branches so far ๐ธ.
This week brought typical early German autumn weather ๐๐ง๏ธ. Temperatures were cooler, there was plenty of rain, and we also had some strong wind gusts on certain days ๐ฌ๏ธ. Without the plants being secured to the rain gutter, these two giants would almost certainly have tipped over again ๐จ. At over two meters tall, the combination of wind and their heavy, upright structure is definitely something to take seriously ๐ ๐ฟ.
The soil biology in these relatively small 30-liter pots is looking fantastic ๐ฑ. Whenever I lift the mulch, I can see plenty of worms and all kinds of tiny soil organisms underneath โ exactly what I want to see in my Living Soil ๐.
Two days ago, I added another Almicanna Kickflip top dress. The ladies are getting pretty hungry now, which isnโt particularly surprising considering the enormous amount of biomass theyโre supporting in such limited pot volume ๐๐. Without regular feeding with compost tea, ferments and top dress, I believe these plants would have ended up significantly smaller ๐ช๐ฑ.
With the flowers now starting to gain more mass, Iโll have to do some selective thinning next week to improve airflow and reduce the risk of mold as autumn progresses โ๏ธ๐ฌ๏ธ. With plants this large, Iโd rather take some preventative action before the wet autumn weather really sets in ๐ง๏ธ๐.
Iโm incredibly curious to see how these two phenotypes will continue to diverge over the coming weeks ๐๐ธ.
You could really just put those in the front yard ๐ I probably wouldn't even recognize them as hemp if I walked by. But as soon as they start to bloom, the smell is probably a dead giveaway ๐ they look really crazy ๐๐ผ
Fresh diary, fresh energy ๐
Always awesome when a new run starts. ๐
Setup is ready โ now they can go full throttle.
Wishing you lots of success and fun with strong and healthy plants. โ๏ธ๐
@Tower84, I haven't forgotten. I'll do it as soon as the whole harvest is dry and has gone through at least 4 weeks of curing to evaluate the frost monsters that are currently drying in the Vcure. I'll take care of everything during my grow break. My sponsor BioTabs is asking for an interview like others have done. So I'll stick around here on Growdiaries even if I won't have a grow for 1 - 2 months. ๐
@Tower84 I care less about that since 2024... the advantage is that I don't use an activated carbon filter anymore๐ when the sun is shining, this wonderful smell is present within a 50m radius๐ ๐
@squalino, Thank you very much! ๐ณ๐ฟ
It really makes me happy to read that. The two Mentha from Croco have exceeded all my expectations so far, and Iโm also very excited to see the final result. ๐๐ณ
I hope they keep it up. Thank you for your support and for following the adventure! ๐๐
@Tower84, Haha, yeah, I know that feeling! ๐ This year it's still relatively moderate here, but in the last few years it has definitely escalated a lot more. ๐ ๐๐ฑ
@DrGruen, Yes, that's true. I do that every year outdoors now, picking something special just for fun for the summer, without the quality expectations for the later harvest. But without anything in the garden, it gets too boring for me.
Best of luck with your new grew my friend, ๐๐๐i grew this one ad i have to say its a delight to grow ad smoke ๐๐๐ growers love my friend and keep us posted ๐๐๐
@Tower84, ๐๐๐ohhhh thank you , feeling very humble with it my friend, hope you liked what you found and that the ones you growing are as fun to grow as mine were ๐๐๐ Growers Love my friend ๐๐๐
Iโll stay on the ball with this. The leaves remind me a bit of tomato ๐ Iโm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather cooperates. Happy grow!๐๐ผ
@squalino, No, not at the moment. When you rub the stem, the current smell is quite pleasant. But when the plants really get going, it might become a problem because of the neighbors. I'm also curious about the stretch - I hope it's moderate ๐
