These are growing well just starting to introduce root juice as this soil allmix. Just topped two let it grow 6 nodes and topped to the fourth. Will top the same with other four (slower growth). Didn’t realise using airpots the water goes everywhere so put compost pop up bins to stop this. Just an idea not sure it will work.

Using airpots.. water goes everywhere bit of a nightmare as I am used to fabric but thought a better idea and easier to reuse. I’m not convinced yet! I used pop up garden bins as an idea to pop up when watering so tent doesn’t get soaked! But too much mess and hassle I’ve ordered a large tray 10cm deep hoping this will work better and be cleaner and easier to manage. Was away on hols so need to try and train a bit behind.

First time having a fungus gnat issue! First I put out sticky pads (it has reduced them down can’t see many now) Second I used diatomaceous earth powder for to treat any eggs in top layer of soil. Thirdly I have bought pure neem oil with horticulture soap (used to emulsify) it says to apply without the light on. So will use tonight around the air pots. I think the airpots are an issue as the gnats have been hiding in the holes making it harder. Fingers crossed the plants and roots are not affected too much!

Finally got rid of the fungus gnats fingers crossed! I will never use air pots again I had to transplant (late stage in veg which I’d never normally do) and went back to fabric pots! Best decision! The air pots were drying too quick aswell. The three blue kings are the two taller plants. The 3 black dogs are smaller and bushier. Also switched to flower increased the LED quantum lighting from half power to full now 550watt. Next time I will do gradually.

I think Bio grow can easily cause nutrient burn so I’ve adjusted down to 0.7 per ml. I thought I got rid of fungus gnats just seen a few again. I will spray neem oil tonight when lights go off. I have put more sticky traps out. Wondering is it the soil cre all mix. Only purchased as they had no all mix biobizz. First time using different soil my previous plants were all done with biobizz light mix. The branch split on one of the plants right down the middle but using black tape and seems fine I will take this off next week (and the plant usually fixes itself). Again that’s down to training late on. Defoiled a good bit and got rid of the spindly parts that won’t make the top canopy.

at this point is nothing to do much to do maybe add a little hydrogen peroxide to your water it will kill most of the gnats but for you next crop i would recommend brewing some organic tea to produce mycorrhizae i use seaweed extract +piranha /tarantula /voodoo juice + aerated water a little nitrogen (my own recipe)lol and for the burn tips it is mot defiantly Zinc but the (whitish color) is lack of nitrogen which organic tea would fix but not on the last 2 week but for the next crop 👌

Yass Queen ! Those burnt tips are still nutrient burn, probably just a touch less severe than last time or it could be a genetic/phenotype variation so it looks slightly different but it's the same thing. Pretty sure it's not Mg deficiency as this affects older leafs first and the yellowing starts between the veins of the leafs, and it doesnt look like a Zinc deficiency (which is exceedingly rare) . Just dial back the nutrients a touch and the problem will stop spreading after a few days to a week (reaction times for plants take a while - that's why) . Hope this helps ! 🚀

Had to flush through with plain ph’d water to help use up any excess nutes. Leaf tips showing signs of nutrient burn. Also running some calmag through. Should I be giving nutes every watering? I think that’s where I go wrong and always nute burn early on. Still have the problem with the gnats I have tried to got rid but they are def coming from the soil. I’ve put damateous earth powder on top layer of soil and been spraying neem oil at night but when you think you have them all the next few days they are back again. Does anyone know will they affect the buds when in full bloom? Some of the pistols are turning brown and curling in this early anyone know why? It’s been super hot here but temps in tent no more than 29 degrees and then 23/24 at night. I uploaded 4 photos. Any help greatly appreciated!

Still having issues with fungus gnats! I thought I had got them all! So today I put perlite on top of the soil to protect the soil more and it has made it easier to see and get them. Today I also flushed again with plain phd water. I heard keep PH within a range so I always done one water 6.5 and one 6.3 and alternate. But I brought right down to 5.8. One plant on the last pic three blue kings seems to be growing slower and a lighter green colour that’s why I adjusted the ph down to see if this helps and will feed next time. I was giving feed too often and only realising this grow. Also the black dog several pistols are browning? I have read this could be normal under LEDs? I also put the wooden poles up this enables me to tie up when they become heavier. Again any help or advice would be great!

3 x black dog starting 2 week flush this week. 2 x three blue kings not to be flushed until next week. But they are not looking too good especially the smaller one. Again maybe root damage from gnats these two seem to be more affected. Great seeds though and the buds smell really fruity. I have just tied up with plant yo-yos. Can’t wait until this grow is over fungus gnats are confined to the soil just cannot get rid of them. Going back to biobizz light soil and next time wanting to try and grow in coco.

Had a bit of trouble this grow last two days they shot out bananas and I got them just in time any later there would have been more seeds. And doing two types is not good when starting out. Happy with the smoke more happy with three blue kings would do again on their own.

"Should I be giving nutes every watering?" No, there is still nutrients left in the soil (almost always). Gl :)

@TheGreenQueen420, so far you're not showing deficiencies , but yeah ALWAYS grow with cal mag, why? because these high-quality genetics are developed in lab conditions meaning they usually need more Mg and Ca than they can naturally absorb. Stick with it , you're doing great ! 👊
TheGreenQueen420
TheGreenQueen420commented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, yes thanks I watered today and brought the nutes down! I learnt previously it’s so easy to burn. I’ve also read somewhere I should be giving magnesium around this time in flower would you suggest that? Cheers!

bongbreathcommentedweek 66 years ago
Hello This is the exact reason why airpots are so bad. If you can transplant go for it if not Try and put yellow stickies to cover the top soil so if new born ones trying to get out they will get caught and also around the airpot escape holes then let the soil dry as much as you can and lower humidity if thats possible. gnats hate dry soil / climate and most will escape to the trap soon as it happen
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@TheGreenQueen420,@bongbreath : for sure + I learned that the hard way, some folks take the soil and spread it out in the sun for a while before they pot their plants in it so that the bugs can either die or hatch and leave. I look for "horticulture grade" soil that's been steamed , usually I won't have any infestation with that
bongbreath
bongbreathcommented6 years ago
@TheGreenQueen420,Cool dude, btw gnats usually come from not so good soil mix source (most common in bagged mixed soil) larve eggs just stay there until they get the right climate to hatch.(your grow room) Try going for a different soil mix next time to eliminate that option:)
TheGreenQueen420
TheGreenQueen420commented6 years ago
@bongbreath, yes I just did today and I am so glad I made the quick decision! Back to fabric pots! I just knew the airpots were making the issue worse with all them air holes for them to hide in! Cheers!

With LED lights they can take a bit of getting used to especially if your used to more traditional hid lighting (hps/mh).. Stick with it mate you'll get it dialed in 👍 With love from Humboldt County✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

hello friend, I wanted to congratulate you for the good job you are doing, keep it up! it all seems so uniform. regarding the gnats I wanted to recommend the rinho skin advanced nutrient, it is excellent not from burns and is useful for many things I still really recommend it. good luck!
