Looking good. I like to mash the plug hole with a pin so the hole fills up with mashed plug then put it at the depth I want and cover with a bit more mashed plug. They wobble around less when young.
@Freddd,if you put the seed in the wet cube , rip off a corner and cover the hole you can germinate in the pot , if you keep in the dark and warm until it pops out ๐
@BigDaddyK, yeah I've recently started using the eazy plug which is the same thing. First I was using the paper towel method, then opening the plug like a chocolate muffin and placing the seedling in and shutting it. Which worked, but like you I have realised that the plug provides the same environment as the paper towels. Last two seeds on my DIY hydro grow, were just sown directly into the eazy plug with no prior soaking of the seeds. Both came up quickly.
BUT I usually put them straight into the pebbles, however I'm thinking of letting the roots develop a bit better in the plug first as you have suggested.
Hey Big Daddy K. I'm fairly new to DWC, just wanted to pick your brain as I'm just trying to get better at this stuff. wondering why you set your PH at 6.2? I've been told 5.8 is best for coco and Dwc. I normally set mine to 5.8 and it slowly creeps up to 6.1. I understand that PH, plants can absorb at multiple levels, from 5.7 to 6.3 I would understand is best for DWC? I change my bucket with fresh nutrient mix every 3-4 days. Is that enough or should I change it more frequently. I'm just using a home made bucket system. Running 400L per hour into it. Thoughts about the vivosun air pumps? Seems to have awesome power, like 3000 + litres an hour, but heaps of ppl complain they break quickly.... Any thoughts on decent pumps that are powerful, reliable and don't cost too much?
@SION420, hi , I have issues with ph going too low , I find it easy to keep at 6.3 , normally in the grow stage it drops , the roots I think , I change reservoir every 7 days , I use hailea 9602 air pumps , ph is definitely better late stages of flowering above 6 ๐
