HomeToGrow Hey, This is an older grow from last year. The 2 seeds were initially germinated for 3 days between damp paper towels and then grown in rock wool. Both plants took a bit longer than usual to germinate, which was likely due to the relatively low temperatures, as the grow took place between February and May.

HomeToGrow Hey, The first week went smoothly, the growth could be a bit faster, but the temperature is a bit too low for that. After about 4 days, I transplanted the two Apple Fritter into their actual pots.

HomeToGrow Hey, Even after the 3rd week of veg, I still couldn't train the plants since they're growing a bit slower, but that's not a problem. What seems to be hinted at here is a calmag issue, as I've been working without CalMag so far.

HomeToGrow Hey, After the 3rd week of veg, both phenos were transplanted into their final pots, and at the end of the week, both were topped. Not much else happened; the plants are growing relatively slowly but steadily.

HomeToGrow Hey, Throughout the week, the shoots of both Apple Fritters were further tied down with LST, and leaves that would cover the shoots were removed. There hasn't been much more work this week. As for the strain itself, both are growing very evenly with good branching; the growth itself could be a bit stronger (maybe I was just a bit impatient back then).

HomeToGrow Hey, The first week of flowering is over and the SCROG is in full swing, and the Apple Fritter seems to be made for it, bushy growth with strong lateral branching. A bit more defoliation wouldn't have hurt either. Otherwise, both phenos seem to have no issues with nutrient supply, and there seems to be room for more when it comes to fertilizing. 😄

HomeToGrow Hey, Since this is a grow from last year, the individual weeks will be a bit of a fast-forward, as unexpectedly (the cutting was shipped 3 weeks too early) the current grow officially started today. For the Apple Fritter, I decided to do lolipopping and defoliation after just 14 days in flowering due to its very bushy growth pattern. So far, there have been no issues; CalMag has fixed everything, and both plants are very healthy! In terms of stretch, both plants are also more than manageable; I've had much tougher candidates in the tent, like the Apples & Bananas.

HomeToGrow Hey, With the 3rd week of flowering, the stretch is finally over and the bud formation is already in full swing, and there's a light smell in the air. Unfortunately, I was able to spot a few male flowers on the lowest branches during week 3, which unfortunately accompanied me for the rest of the grow despite daily checks. Little spoiler: I couldn't find any seeds or microseeds in the harvest.

HomeToGrow Hey, The stretch is over and it was really easy to manage, both plants are staying pretty much at the same height and showed the same stretching behavior. However, the left pheno is showing faster and better flower development than the right pheno. The right pheno is now developing a very sour note with haze-like undertones, which I personally don't really like. On the other hand, the left pheno has been screaming apple rings since week 3 of flowering, an absolutely intense smell of synthetic apple paired with sweet notes, which won't change even in the dried buds. I'm also really liking the trichome production.

HomeToGrow Hey, Both plants are now focusing on flower growth and there haven't been any issues otherwise. The left plant is getting stronger in its apple ring smell, simply delicious! The right plant stays true to its sour, slightly hazy scent. In terms of growth, both plants are very similar in bud structure, but the terpenes make them seem like 2 completely different strains.

HomeToGrow Hey, There’s not much to say about this grow, the buds are clearly starting to swell and the smell is dominated by sweet apple rings. Both plants are very sturdy and show no signs of pathogens, even though the temperatures and humidity (sometimes at 70%) are not always optimal. The only thing is, I could have defoliated a lot more earlier, they’re pushing out quite a few leaves.

HomeToGrow Hey, No problems and no major changes, both plants are continuing to gain mass and are slowly moving towards ripening. The EC has also been slightly lowered and is now decreasing a bit each week down to an EC of about 1.2.

HomeToGrow Hey, Week 8 is over and the Apple Fritter is gradually maturing, with the left pheno noticeably gaining mass in the buds. The right one is showing that it won't be a bountiful harvest and everything will likely remain very airy, combined with the sour and hazy terpene profile, it's not really for me. The left pheno continues to be significantly better with a very strong note of synthetic apple, just like you know from apple rings. Meanwhile, the buds are also getting slight purple accents. 😋

HomeToGrow Hey, The week before last went by without any noticeable problems, both phenos gained a bit more mass and a bit more purple showed up on the left "Apple Ring" pheno. Otherwise, everything is continuing to go smoothly.

HomeToGrow Hey, There haven't been any changes in the last week, the trichomes are mostly milky and about 10% amber, for me that's the perfect time to harvest.

Hey, The Apple Fritter is definitely worth growing, especially the left pheno which had an insane terpene profile that screamed artificial apple ring aroma. That's probably how you imagine this strain, unfortunately, the other pheno didn't convince me at all; the smell of sour haze was not what I had in mind, plus this pheno produced really small and airy buds. Combined with the fact that both phenos developed male flowers in the lower range between the 2nd and 4th week of flowering (but I couldn't find any seeds in the end). I can't give this strain a 10/10, it just seems too unstable to me.

Looks good 😎 delivering well 👍🏼 I also have those in the drawer.. let's see, always this agony of choice with too many strains on my back 😅

@GreenHobbit, thanks a lot for that :p I can already tell you that the grow was definitely worth it. I had an absolute winner pheno in terms of terps; there could have been even more if I had given a bit more light, then the buds probably would have turned into rocks, but as it was, they ended up being a bit airier, though still top solid. The other pheno was unfortunately a flop for me personally; it was really a bit too airy in the end, 80% sour terps and 20% haze terps. And let's just say the left "apple ring" pheno made up about 75% of the total harvest. At the beginning of flowering, I unfortunately had a few male flowers in the lower area on both, but by week 5 there were no more, and I couldn't find any seeds either, so luck in misfortune.

@TheCalyxLaboratory, much appreciate that. :) I loved it to but it also had some negative aspects because the plants shared a Pot you really need identical Plants (in the best case you would choose cuttings) otherwise one plant can overtake the whole space and outcompete the "weaker"/slower plant or if one plant needs way more water you have to choose between overwatering or underwatering one of the plants. It think it would work better when you would choose a more hydroponic approach like clay pebbles for example. Now I switched back to a 2 pot system. 🍃
