26 Gorilla Cookies Fast

Northern_Ent May 2 Day 1: seedlings now above soil and being exposed to light. Starting them in peat pots. May 6 Day 5: looking good. Raised soil level to support leggy seedlings. Doing great.

Northern_Ent May 10 Day 9: Gorilla Cookies Fast is the most vigorous of the seedlings this year. Fast Buds consistently wins on strong germination at lowish temperatures. Filled 7 gallon soil bags using a ‘ring’ or donut of spruce cones at bottom of the grow bag. Did a single wedge last year but roots obviously preferred the air exposure so doing the whole bottom edge this time. Soil is mostly recycled from last year. Mixed in wheelbarrow with addition of peat and compost, some (5 tbps?) Azomite, 3 tbsp of Extreme Blend and 3 tbsp of about six year old Myco Grow (oh well, seems fine).

Northern_Ent May 16 Day 15: looking good indoors waiting for the weather to improve.

Northern_Ent May 23 Day 22: transplant day. Soaked peat pot briefly before tearing off the bottom and some of the side and then planting a bit high in the soil level. Regular water misting to compensate for very low humidity that we get here. May 26 Day 25: made a lazy compost tea today. Started at 8 am using 5 gallon pail filled with water and some compost, coco coir, Monster Maxx, molasses, and a tsp each of Extreme Blend and Soluble seaweed extract. In other words, good stuff that I had around. Called it ready after only 8 hours just cuz. Watered all my yard including around the edges of the cannabis grow bags. May 27: foliar spray in morning with Extreme Blend. Good stuff and highly recommended. Also misting leaves periodically with water sprayer to make up for low humidity here. May 28: watered with some fish fertilizer dregs left from last year.

Northern_Ent May 30 Day 29: Gorilla Cookies Fast is doing fine. Will soon reach five nodes which is when it will be topped for first time on the way to forming a 16 cola manifold. May 31 Day 30: rain day and cool at about 10 C. Two more days like this and then back to normal weather. June 4: stopped raining but still cool. This plant is still growing nicely despite the cool weather.

Northern_Ent June 6 Day 36: last week was cool and rainy but growth will pickup here soon with warmer temperatures and direct sunlight. Will top it tomorrow to start the manifold. This will be a 16 cola manifold. June 8 Day 37: plant had five nodes and I topped it back to third node and then removed lower growth tips and small leaves. This is the first of four rounds of topping needed to get 16 colas.

Northern_Ent June 13: cool and rainy this spring but she will grow quickly over the next few weeks with warmer temperatures and long days around the solstice. June 17: no watering with all the rain lately. Missed day on the pics but fast growth is happening. 👍 June 18: more rain so no watering in nutrients. Did a foliar spray of Extreme Blend. Good stuff and cheap so highly recommended.

Northern_Ent June 20 Day 50: looking good on the last day of spring. Longest day of the year at the solstice and the plant is at a good growth stage to get big quickly in the next few weeks before I start force flowering in mid-July. June 21: wow, more rain. Over 100 mm this week so no additional watering. June 23: morning foliar spray of Extreme Blend and potassium silicate. Remove two inner fan leaves from manifold.

Northern_Ent June 28: record rainfall this June and Gorilla Cookies Fast is healthy but behind schedule due to the weather. July 1: Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦 Adjusted scrog net. Using a net with paper clips onto the edge of the grow bag is the easiest way to get the mainfold shape I want. Now with eight growth tips and she will be ready for the next round of topping in a few days. Starting another compost tea. So much rain I haven’t been able to add nutrient except by foliar spray. That has been working but she will like the compost tea tomorrow. July 2: lazy compost tea in morning and nice sunny day adds up to a big vegetative growth day. Hopefully keep this fast pace going for another 2-3 weeks before force flowering.

Northern_Ent July 4: Gorilla Cookies is looking great and I did the final round of topping to get 16 growth tips. July 10: looking really good and growing fast. Did a foliar spray of Epsom salts (for the Mg) and potassium silicate.

Northern_Ent July 11: ouch. A hail storm went through in the afternoon and shredded things pretty hard. Big old fan leaves were ripped apart while smaller leaves are fine. She will recover but it’s a bummer of a setback. July 16: removed some damaged fan leaves yesterday and adjusted scrog net today. The hail did damage but she is recovering.

Northern_Ent July 18: recovering from the hail storm 7 days ago. Will start force flowering tonight. In dark garage at 9 pm, a few seconds of 730 nm far red light, and then out of garage at 7 am. That is 10 h of darkness plus 2 h from the far red light at the right time. That is 12 h of darkness in a ‘26 h’ day. Great trick if you have daily access to your flowering plants. After about two weeks I’ll stop with garage but continue with the bloom booster red light every night at Civil Twilight until harvest. Time is from timeanddate.com for my location. Easy trick but you need to do it at the right time each night. and is based on your latitude. July 19: added second layer to scrog net. Watered with compost tea this morning.
